Not bad at all - much more than esky pulled on her last try. Your girl doesn't weigh that much does she. Her weight to weight ratio would have been pretty impressive

Windchill does the custom made ones. What kind of dog are you sizing? -

Not crazy, jealous we don't get temps like that often. Also jealous that you can title in racing! -
 I have too many and that's just racing Do you have any trouble with elsie knowing the difference between tracking and sledding?
-
Oh my god that's not even fair. I'm so so so sorry Lhok

Windchill do them custom sized. They made the one for my friends Newfoundland. You just have to measure ( and make sure you're accurate and sober when you measure or you'll have to do it again) You could get her used to dragging a small weight behind her - you could use your sledding harness and a milk carton- something that won't hurt her back and train her to pull to you on command. Not the best to dish out advice since we totally bombed our last comp and not sure if we'll compete again this year

I almost messaged you before I started the thread! I was eyeing off some forests on the road to Kersbrook, do you know if they're any use? I think they're alright. I've never been but apparently the mount gawler area is quite steep. ;) Mount Crawford Map Out of that map we run Dickers, Waterholes, Forbes, Big Flat, Fromms, Dewells, Cromer and Mt Pleasant. I think.. They're all good, a bit hilly but nothing crazy. Never run into any stock out there, but of course wildlife is there if you're not with a big group of people. Endless places to run ;)
-
I did mention to you before that you should come out and run in the forests ;)
-
And again last night on 9 news You see both teams I ran for a brief second..

I'm the one with the hippy headband talking about my dog sleeping on the couch, you can't even tell she's a racing dog. Few lovely shots of my rear end in the film too  MissRustyBucket, you can team your dogs to stop on command, but good brakes are your friend ;)

I've not seen any aussies competitng here (yet) but we did have a pup show up to the sprint race. She was too young to try it though. I've seen aussies pulling sleds in some videos from the US. There's no reason any breed with some size to it that likes to run wouldn't be able to have a go. Look at DiscoDobe's Elsie. She only weighs about 12kg and she's had 2 first places in bikejoring

I have seen, samoyed's, akita's, GSD's, staffies, kelpies and even a cocker have a go! I've also seen a video of a whippet, who is very good at it. You don't really get a good view of them, but the six dog team I'm holding are Eurohounds. Essentially started as a mix of breeds bred for the sole purpose of racing fast. And they kick but. The dogs winning in the one dog class here are pointers and gsps. We also have shepherds of the belgian and german kinds, labs and a newfie.
