I've heard the same to be true for service dogs in America. The concern was something about bacteria being spread from the dogs mouth to people in hospitals with compromised immune systems, possibly making them sicker.

Hi Busy Berner :D I just read one of your other posts and your dog is named Bosco right. You didn't happen to graduate a 'bronze' level puppy class recently did you ? (Not stalking you I swear) It sucks that you can't get your food anymore. Have you tried any privately owned petstores as they may still stock it? (Or they might have another bag, so you can make the transition easier to a different food)
