  1. Maybe put them in the crates before you even start preparing food? Otherwise if they're behind the door knowing that food is coming they might fight anyway. I'd also be seeking professional advice. It must be hard. My two are fed separately but I've dropped food, accidentally left the door open etc and they are fine . They have a "first in, first served@ approach to food. I can't imagine the stress of them fighting. Yeah it was a total guff on my part. They aren't even allowed in the kitchen.. Normally they are seperate until it's crate time... It's just frustrating that I was rushing to get them fed and Esky got hurt as a result.. I have read everythig and will respond to more questions when im not on a tablet. I will add though that resource guarding is not tolerated at all in the breed.. And if it did I assume it's a one way trip to the vet for that dog
  2. I saw this behaviour at the old house also
  3. They're not supposed to be in the kitchen at all.. so that's totally a fail on my part for not shutting the door .. or whatever happened. They get fed in their crates. Given the size and strength of Fritz I'd rather Esky not be starting something. No question as to who will come worse off.
  4. I'm new to this whole multiple dog thing as an adult. In the past all my family dogs (2) and my OH's family dogs (too many) were just given 1 bowl of food, no issues. It seems like with my two the mere presence of food can set off a shit fight. We had one incident on the weekend, fritz had a food toy, Esky approached/ challenged. Fight ensued. Tonight was preparing their dinner in the kitchen. And another biig scuffle. Had to drag Fritz off Esky. He struck first, but as my back was turned I didn't if there was any body language cues leading up to the fight. Esky's got a few marks on her after tonight. Fritz was worse off from Sunday's.. These aren't the first incidents we've had. But 2 in 3 days is enough for me to be more concerned. I already contain them at feeding time in crates. They're not allowed around us now when we have our meals. No more dinner scraps thrown to Esky. Just don't know if I could be actively doing something else about the issue. Or if its just a 'know thy enemy' type of thing.. *cries* all stressed out now
  5. Nah, bikejoring is a discipline of dryland mushing where the dog is infront of the bike on a bungee line pulling Bikejoring ;) Slightly off topic Anyway this is the walkydog *the company's promo pic * Or there is also a thing called the 'springer' I don't like them, as if you crash it has a has an auto release. Not the best if you have a dog without super recall..
  6. I like the walkydog attachment, as the dog physically cannot get under the wheels. It's a metal tube about a foot long that attaches just below the seat, or you can get an attachment so that it attaches to the nut on the back wheel. I started by walking the dog along side the bike, then pretty much just went with the walky dog. With the puppy we've just done a little bit of him off leash while I bike. He seems to just get to stay away.. Which is good as he'll be pulling a bike around for racing. As for legalities I've ridden past police men on the footpath with Esky and they've not batted an eyelid. I think you'd be very unlucky to actually get in trouble.. That said not encouraging anyone to break the law. When we lived urban I usually stuck to bike paths, rode close to the side as possible to force the dog to run on the grass ;)
  7. Wait, you're telling me I used to wear this

  10. My oldest set have a fair bit of rust.. Still usable. But a coat of rust proof paint when you first get them and you'd be pretty right

  13. Noooo I don't want them turning into a 'show' breed. There are two registries sort of working towards recognition. If they could agree on what a bullarab is it would be nice. Probably not going to happen in this lifetime though :p He's a natural stacker.. Helps when he's chained up to the post behind for photo time :p
