  1. I am almost in tears watching that poor dog being jumped on
  2. My neighbours cat seems to be in my front yard everyday now, i'm not surprised they are really loud and feral next door, and it seems very shy. I am not a cat lover, but it is very pretty, like a coffee colour with chocolate points, i know its a pedigree of some sort. My kids were sitting on the lawn quitly stroking it, they said you had to be still and it would eventually come out from under the hedge.
  3. I agree, anyone who calls them "English staffys' has no idea, or if they say "huge heads", or 'rare blue",run a mile. Playing with the parents does not always show their temp, you really don't want a shy pup, could turn out to be fear aggressive. Ask Pav for some good breeders, pick an outgoing pup, let the breeder guide you, they know their pups best. You won't pay much more for a stunning well bred healthy pup, when you see a good stafford you will see the difference.
  4. It is unlimited here, i have had upto 6 with fosters over the years. I can't imagine someone telling me how many dogs i can own
  5. I would ring council first and check your dogs are not in danger over this ( i know it sounds odd, and i think its not your fault, but council have odd rules),before i would go admitting anything. If you can find the cat and get it to the vet i would, but if in reality it has gone off to die you need to think about your dogs, callous as it may sound. I have new neighbours with 2 cats, and i told her the first day if they come into my yard they won't leave, they are apparently house cats and not allowed out, one cost her over $1000, must be a an odd housecat, as everytime i go out the front it is either under my car or hedge.
  6. I very rarely recommend any one my 3 breeds i own as i wouldn't want anyone taking any of them on easily. I still think and Aussie shep would be a good fit, wouldn't ever own one myself. I often recommend greys as they fit alot of niche's and are often overlooked, although not a suitable match this time. :)
  7. They dispose of them first so no one knows what they look like and they then 'win" regardless. The animal is dead, it also then doesn't eat into their huge profits to keep them ( even though the owner will eventually pay that). I hope they look after them while in care and they don't get worse, as who will believe they didn't arrive like that. The only thing wrong in that photo is the idiot trying to handle in who clearly has NFI!!!
  8. I thought a Aussie too. Not all dogs chase either, my cattle dog will ignore a rabbit thats been flushed out by my dally ,and not give chase, even when one runs straight past him. I havn't met a staffy who doesn't play hard.
  9. I feel so sorry for her, she must feel she is going to be hounded forever, no matter where or what she does. She really has no chance against them.
  10. My kennels face the house and doors so they can lie in them and see everything. Placement is the key. Also check it doesn't wobble as they go in, puts them off. I have mine up on pallets to keep them off the ground, but maybe too high for a cav. The other thing you could try, does the lid lift off? if so, take it off for a while and see if he will go in it like that .
  11. Yes, i got mine from Karmacollars, they are excellent quality, and they will make them to order, i got leather martingales' made up for me. The smallest flat collar one was $50, the bigger martingale's were $68, they do matching leads and its all guaranteed for life.Beautiful double layered soft leather. If you go on their FB page you will see my lot in their new collars :D
  12. Give the vets a call if you are not sure, did they tell you when to go back to have anything removed? The flecking could be cattle or dally, pics are a must
  13. Blacktown pound is full of dogs like him, its the main type they have in, bad time of year for him to get out alive
  14. And its nothing to do with closing for a while over xmas and having to look after the unsold pups somewhere, so lets just not bother this week , and make a heap of publicity in the meantime and stock up after.
  15. I just wanted to ask, this morning when i gave Bonn the drops she kept her eye's closed for a bit and squinted, then tonight afterwards she started to try and scratch at her eye's with her paw. Does this mean its hurting her? they are the cyclosporin drops the vet made up ?
  16. Advocate every 4 weeks for heartworm fleas etc. Allwormer every 3 months. seems i am in the minority
  17. Petshop looking for feel good publicity for his ailing business. Hope he goes out of business
  18. I am just waiting for some Optimmune to arrive, but in the meantime the vets mixed me up some Cyclosporin drops. I will go and see Mark, just can't afford it this side of xmas.
  19. I only give them a wing for brekky, a dog biscuit after the morning walk, and then their big meal at night after evening walk.
  20. Just something that springs to mind. If you are just taking from one trainer, basically giving her the easy ( free) way out of disposing of her dogs, what happens when other trainers cotton on and want to offload theirs onto you for nothing and start dumping them outside your place? i have fostered many greys, and bull breeds, and own a bull breed atm, i would say greys are far more likely to want to kill a small fluffy than a bull breed.
  21. Thankyou Kirty, that explains it very well. Can you recommend a good eye specialist in Sydney? I think Mark ?from Sash was recommended to me?
  22. I know its really expensive, my vets suggested Panalog first and it did work initially, but doesn't seem to be doing the same anymore and i work from home and do it religously. I think i will go back for another consult and ask for optimune.
  23. We saw a diffent vet at my practice who specialises in eyes. Perhaps an eye specialist would be the way to go.
  24. Blair is my vet, didn't know he was a chiro, he treats him anyway and has never suggested it, so perhaps his hips are ok.
