  1. Thank you all so much, I really appreciate it. I don't feel I can reduce her food by much at all and my vet is even shocked at how little she gets. She doesn't get bones (other dog can't handle them) and I used to feed raw but cannot afford it especially with the big boofa (Cooper). Apart from training treats which then I cut down her food she only gets her joint supplements. The salmon and or sardines are in spring water. I guess I was just looking for an easy answer by trying a different food while keeping the volume similar?
  2. Hi all, I am looking to find a good weight loss/management dry food for my girl. She has a dodgy cruciate on her left and moderate HD on her right(she will be getting more xrays in a couple of months to see if it has progressed). I can feel her ribs and she had a nice tuck but from above she is a bit umm cuddly! I have found Advance and Proplan do a type so far but was looking to see if anybody has experience with these or some other brands please. She is currently on Canidae with sardines or salmon etc at night. She also gets cooked pumpkin and green beans to bulk out her food as she gets so little. But I can't feed her less (she acts starving all the time) and want her to loose a couple of kgs if possible to help with her health issues. Thank you in advance for any help. Bianca and Molly the 'cuddly' dog!
  3. That is a gorgeous photo! I somehow manage to sleep with 2 GSDs stretched out!
  4. Oh a video of that would have been hilarious!!!!! I can't believe how big they are either, 8-10kgs!!!! When I got my WL GSD boy he was a pipsqueak at 3.8kg (8 weeks) now 42kg!!!
  5. You really make me want to swap breeds. I cannot believe how wonderful your pups are and how much work you do with them. Your dedication is amazing.
  6. That's sad Bianca. I've been there, I understand Thank you :) Yes bilateral elbow surgeries and bilateral THR's all before the age of two. Ah the joys of dog ownership. I am so glad I found this thread they are adorable critters! I wish you lived around the corner so I could get my puppy fix, I mean help socialise them of course lol!
  7. Thank you! One of the ones I have here, have left me broke so it will be some time before I am ready for another pup :)
  8. I loved watching too! What adorable puppies and so confident! If you ever decide to swap to breeding GSD's please yell!!!!! Although I would like another Rotti one day!!!! :)
  9. She is absolutely gorgeous! And every time I see her, makes me want a puppy!
  10. Oh they are adorable as is mum! They have such long little claws already!
  11. My girl is more than likely to need a TPLO in the future and Pete Laverty is my go to surgeon. He did both THR's on my male and I found him brilliant even with my constant emails!
  12. That is a great clip! She is so beautiful!
  13. Agree with the others, my then 10 month old pup was diagnosed by xray and two specialists with severe bilateral HD. He has since had surgeries on both hips. So to ease your mind, get xrays and get them seen by a specialist. Good luck.
  14. We have roughly 3/4 of an acre fenced off with strong dog mesh (wasn't cheap) and my dogs are not jumpers or diggers. But in saying that they are only allowed out there when we are around. At my last property I had a hot wire.
  15. I vote GSD (funnily enough as I lie here with one under the bed and one on top!). They do shed thus the name German Shedders but you couldn't want a more loyal dog in my opinion. They can be hell on wheels as puppies but very biddable to training. I feel entirely safe with one regular black/tan and one who is a solid black...he looks the part. Good luck with your search.
  16. I am so deeply sorry WM. Mac was a lucky boy to have you love him so dearly. Keeping you in my thoughts tonight.
