  1. I love the pic's Cazstaff. They always make me cry but I love them. What a beautiful boy Buddy was. His eyes are full of love. Magnificent face.
  2. Tassie, he did good alright. You have the best of both worlds with him so you kind of have won the lottery :) Collie C, don't worry that you have too many slickers. I use the small one for doing behind their ears etc & the big one for their body :)
  3. Poor little babies way beyond me how anyone could do such an horrific act of deliberate cruelity to such beautiful helpless puppies. May Karma catch up with them very soon & hurt them beyond thinkable.
  4. I think dancinbc's secretly just loves to watch us spend up tassie LOL. I have dancin to "blame" for my MP brush as well, giggle. Must confess I love mine but we didn't win best of anything LOL On a serious note Congrats Tassie well done to bo th you & Rory. Bet you are as proud as punch & rightly so :)
  5. I also really like the Prestige pin brush. Does a great job for a really great price. I use one as a back up when we are away camping :)
  6. I use both. I use a pin brush first ,then a Le pooche & finish with a greyhound wide tooth metal comb. I love the CC pin brush. They are $ though. Every second day I just use my MP bris brush & finish with a comb. I am a bit anal with my guys grooming though.
  7. Just wonderful :) way to go Gracie girl ! !
  8. RemyBC, Hi, I also posted on the BC forum as I missed out on seeing your new little addition. Totally understand why you removed the pic but am hoping you don't let any negativity get in the way of you enjoying every minute you can with you beautiful BC & also enjoying this forum as it is a wealth of info as well as a great place to speak with like minded BC/dog lovers. Personally I couldn't care less what colour your Border is, pink with purple dots  as long as she has had all her relevant tests & I am sure she. As long as they are healthy, then it's all good. Good on you for doing lots of research When I got my girl Stella she was 12 weeks old & when I got my boy Sonny he had just turned 10 weeks if you are concerned about Remi's age. You need not worry cause a rep. breeder won't let you take a puppy home till they are at least 8 weeks or older :) Enjoy your Border Collie. They are an awesome breed & I am very bias :p & Give her a cuddle for me, OK :) If I can be of any help, just pm me & if I can't help you I may know of someone that can :)
  9. Laugh it up Tassie cause I am I feel like such an idiot but that is what I thought. Well that is how Sonny learnt everything else. I showed/shaped the behaviour & he just got it... He is such a smart boy but after reading a few threads including this one, there is obviously a lot more to it But what I am reading doesn't make much sense so maybe I will have to find a DVD for beginners or something. I will go through my DVD's first & see what I can find. I can still see the look on Sonny's face that day & it still cracks my up, now that I understand why, he's like, "What the ...."
  10. OK guys, you can laugh away at me... cause I have just read through this thread being a total novice at all this agility stuff but would love to get into it as it looks like great fun for both dogs & their owners. I had a very simple jump, a tunnel & a set of weave poles set up in our rather small back yard. I thought I would try out my boy, Sonny, on few things. Since a puppy he would go through the tunnel fine & over the jumps. He loves doing all that. Don't know how 'correct' we we are doing any of this but he really flies around having fun. And I just put the weave poles up & expected poor Sonny to go around them  Wondered why he just looked up at me with a very confused look on his beautiful face cause I just truly thought if I put a lead on him & walked him through them once or twice then if I took his lead off & sent him through he would just do it  Well, maybe not  This was some time back before my girl came along & took up any all my attention. But I am going to start this up again with Sonny & 'hopefully' Stella too one of my new year's goals with my 2. Anyway, looks like I had better do some reading up on a few 'minor' details like how to teach weaves before I start this time around. Didn't mean to derail this thread or anything Just thought it may bring a little comic relief, so laugh it up while I go back under my rock & do some research :)
  11. Oh dear Cazstaff.... my eye's are leaking again reading this post.... & just so dam angry at the same time at the sheer lack of care/consideration/professionalism for Buddy. Bloody lunch was more important ???? My blood just boils at the thought that anyone would turn there back on a dog tied up to anything let alone leave the room for what seems an extended period if the Vet's report are anything to go by I for one take my hat off to you girl. The way you have handled this horrific tragedy that has happened to you & your darling BFF, Buddy is nothing short of aspiring. Stay strong Cazstaff.
  12. I too think of you both too since this horrific tragedy has happen & have also discussed the story with quite a few fellow dog lovers in the vain hope of at the very least raising peoples awareness of what can happen. It it saves one dogs life then it will be so very worth it.
  13. So sorry for your losses.... As others have said Annie is off to be with your dad. Sometimes such sad things happen for an important reason just extremely difficult to see it when it is directly effecting you.
  14. Oh what a super cute littley :) Pretty markings.
  15. Oh Stans mum hope it comes through for the 3 of you real soon.
  16. 44 here at around midday. Phew ! I have lived in the Port Stephens area for 20 years & I think it is one of the hottest days I can remember. Maybe just getting old LOL. I took both my BC's down to the beach for 3 hours this morning & they have been indoors in 22 degree's of air con ever since , sound asleep ATM :)
  17. Very cute !! Even got them jumping though hoops now WnH  I read somewhere you'd had a fall. Hope you are OK
  18. OMG ..... Hongi is just so darn cute. What a gorgeous littley. Good luck with him. Love the name & totally understand you probably have your Vet on speed dial. All being new & so precious. Just how it should be IMHO :)
  19. Beautiful post Jed & very well said. You are so right when you say justice will help heal so beautiful Buddy's death wont be in vain. I was just looking at be photo's Caz posted of him. Such a regal looking boy & such a beautiful face. I have cried many a tear for him & it doesn't look like I'm done yet Why tragedies like this happen to such beautiful dogs & their very devoted, caring owners is way beyond me.
  20. Firstly I just want to add that I haven't read every single post on this "controversial" thread. Also didn't post here until I noticed some other dolers suffering such similar issues with their dogs. But I think what is key to this whole BH issue with SOME dogs is that when it doesn't agree with your dog the symptoms can be quite nasty & happen so quickly. It was a hell of a lot more than gas... From my experience with Sonny it took food intolerance to a whole new level.
  21. Yes wuffles, thats how I feel about it too. I probably would have just moved on to another brand without commenting at all when I noticed so many others with similar issues with their dogs coat condition I thought hang on a second it's just not me. I wasn't out to cause trouble or upset anyone. But was trying to get to the bottom of what exactly was causing it. Had they changed an ingredient in it perhaps ??? Or something.... Still none the wiser there but there certainly shouldn't be any issues with me asking questions & comparing my boys symptoms with fellow dolers. After all that is what a forum is about & if anyone had seen Sonny at his worst they would be the first to raise their hand. It is going to take a good 6 months before his beautiful coat is near what it used to be , lucky he is not a show dog. I have had to cut nearly all his pants off due to coat damage & what I haven't cut is an horrendous mix of red discolouration & frizz Surely I shouldn't be made feel as you say not being truthful etc because it just couldn't possibility be caused by BH.......
  22. I know your just in denial danny's darling. You really want a Roomba LOL.... Don't worry I won't hold it against you, they are almost the best thing ever :)
  23. Yes rascal, I was also very embarrassed by my dogs awful coat condition at their worst & my fella still isn't 100% back to where he was. Just have to wait for his coat to grow now, very long process And yes it all happened pretty fast once it started. I was really upset/angry when you take such pride in your precious companions, & they end up looking like no one owns them
  24. + 1 totally agree as well & yes, very well said. There were quite a few dogs with such similar symptoms. And for my dog to have such fast relief from those very same symptoms soon as I swapped him to another dry food speaks volumes for me. And as I have said it may suit some dogs. I know my step sons Dobe & Staffie are thriving on BH. but I will never use or recommend it again.
