  1. Thanks Steve. It certainly is an amazing natural wonder & it seems you can use it for just about every ailment. Gosh I was surprised to read it can even be ingested for immune benefits
  2. This story bloody astounds me..... lets just leave Rover tied out in heatwave conditions until he slowly dies in one of the most callous/ distressed & sickening ways possible. Shame on the heartless owner. I would like to see the book thrown at them & their face plastered on the front page of the paper for all to see.
  3. This is just so very, very sad news..... Your in a better place now. Rest easy sweet Elsa girl I'm so sorry for the horrible life you must of endured here on earth in the hands of such callous, heartless humans. I can only hope the people responsible get what is coming to them, & then some. They sicken me to the core.
  4. Also agree totally with staffyluv & I feed an identical diet to SL as that is what my guys do best on :)
  5. Very moving....... beautiful. Thanks for sharing Sheena. Where's the tissues?
  6. Well visitors are gone, phew..... more than a little happy about that as it turns out Stella didn't cope with the situation very well. She became highly agitated as step daughter is very loud & yells a lot which brought my poor girl undone . Stella refused to eat & her pacing returned. She just couldn't even lay down even though I had here separated from them. Her reactivity was terrible & would jump out of her skin at the slightest sound So I increased her meds , put her ear muffs on when things got really loud & made sure she was as comfortable as possible. I was concerned about her seizuring with all the added stress. She did have a mild turn on the last day but it didn't last very long thankfully. It has taken her 2 days to fully recover & is now back to her bubbly happy self & is eating her head off  We are off for a months caravaning trip on the w.end . So looking forward to it after our week from hell.... Stella & Sonny can't wait either :p
  7. Thanks ness, appreciate your help & knowledge :)
  8. It's funny cause Stella's ears were perfect till she was about 6 months, then one just went flat. Yes the bracing sounds quite difficult & keeping it on a bc puppy would be next to impossible. Thanks for sharing your experience :)
  9. I just had a quick look at this food & Dog Food adviser only gives it a 3 star rating. Apparently the chicken variety does contain a lot of chicken which is great but raw chicken contains about 80% water & so after cooking the quantity is minimal. It also contains beet pulp & pea protein. I'm having success with Cannidae Pure Sea atm with my girl. Also Earthborn Holistic works very well for us. She only has 30% dry food per day though. My boy is on a raw diet now :)
  10. Mystiqview, quick question what do you do with a flat ear to help it stand up again? Is it doable? Just would like to know for future reference. Can't fix Stella's as she isn't a puppy, she's 3 but if I ever get another pup with this issue I will be able to correct it early :)
  11. I get a script off a Vet as well & save $ 70 every 6 weeks for Stella. However my Vet that I have been using for many years wont write me a script so I see one out of the area, it certainly is worth my trouble.
  12. Thanks so much Erny for taking the time to explain this in such detail. Geez your poor boy Mandela really had some serious allergy issues, poor boy. He is very fortunate to have such a dedicated owner who was hell bent on getting to the bottom of his issues & correcting his diet. I have decided to do as you suggested & stop Sonny's dry food altogether. I happen to have some Augustine's Super Boost in the cupboard actually, so I will add this to raw roo meat with some sardines etc & see how we go. He has a meaty bone or half a small chicken carcess of a morning. I will try this & hopefully see some results in time. I think I have been a bit impatient in the past when I have tried to change him over & expected to see improvements too quickly & when nothing happen I stopped. See how we go this time :)
  13. Erny, thanks so much for your advice. I had a feeling this was the case. My next question is where do I go from here??? I have him on a 70% home made raw diet atm & 30% premium quality grain free dry food. When you say take it back to very basic but balanced. Could you advice me on this or point me in the right direction for help With this as I am unsure but so want to get it right as we do alot of exercise & I don't want him running on empty.
  14. I have the same here ness. Sonny sleeping happily in his Dog Gone Smart doughnut bed in this current heat wave. Out like a light :) My girl is out on the back lawn laying like a turtle LOL. She has 3 beds to choose from but none interest miss fussy pants.
  15. Will it Steve. I sure my boy has this issue as he has ticked off just about every symptom. I will find your link to purchase some then, thanks. I was going to buy some for my first aid kit but since Sonny seems to be biting his feet more with the warmer weather I will buy it sooner. He also has some brown rust like staining around his mouth that I notice also gets a lot worse when his feet annoy him. I'm thinking this too is some kind of yeast infection???? I did treat it with Angel Eye's & it went completely away but as soon as I finished the bottle, the infection returned.
  16. Thanks teekay for the link. Will read with great interest :)
  17. Beautiful raineth Awwww... Oscar is gorgeous gapvic :)
  18. My male BC has itchy paws sometimes too. He has them atm. Not bad but he does bite at them & when I had a look, they look a little red around the pads. So yeast cause this to happen does it?
  19. Oh minimax really ? I read that Livermol can do that & Kelp was suppose to help keep the coat dark because of the iodine content. Now I'm really confused Believe me it doesn't take much  Hopefully some of the folks on here knowledgeable about this can shed some light on it & set me straight.
  20. Sonny has the exact same thing on his back as well during the summer months. It happens every year too, right on top of his rump. & it's about 3 inches in diameter. I use a sunscreen on both of mine but it doesn't seem to help with this red issue unfortunately. Stella's coat is good compared to my boy. His brother & sisters are show dogs & have beautiful coats. I mean Mig has won best coated numerous times. A lady that shows BC's said when she saw Sonny that he looks like he may have a food intolerance because his coat isn't right His diet is good. I am very careful what I feed them. Strange really... I'm hoping to find the cause though. I can't do much more than I'm doing. It may just be him but I can't help but think he may be lacking in something in his diet. I had his thyroid checked & that all came back perfect.
  21. Oh bugger LOL. It is mainly on his pants/tail. He does have some through his shoulder area too. I have got rid of a lot of his dead coat but the reddish /rusty tones reappear unfortunately. I guess it must be due to the elements. I would just love his coat to be nice & black is all. I do give him all the vit. Omega 3,6 &9 which does seem to help a little.
  22. Thanks piper. I wasn't sure. I'l buy some kelp powder then. It's for Sonny, his coat throws a lot of copper/ reddish tones for some reason & I am wondering if this may help his coat. He does swim lots but I always rinse both of my guys off daily. Hopefully this may help :)
