  5. Poor ol' girl Hope her owners can be located very soon so she can go back home where she is used to the surroundings & comfortable. Must be so frightening for her not being able to see in such a strange, noisy place
  6. Really enjoying this thread... All the beautiful pooches
  7. May I ask why you don't want anymore sibes after Esky has gone out of interest? Is it the grooming or are they difficult to manage temp wise or something. I know nothing about the breed. Cause Esky is to die for Such a beautiful looking dog.... :)
  8. Both my guys are daily salt water swimmers & I use Ezydog Neo collars. They are great Padded & made from wet suit type material that is quick drying. They are extremely hard wearing & strong. 3 years on & still going strong. Also the metal on them never rusts. Highly recommend them for beach loving pooches :)
  9. shove over Athena Yes Athena, shove over, that looks lush
  10. YUMMMMMMMM !!!!!! Gosh my guys would love that. Keeping that receipe in the memory bank for next hound B.day :)
  11. Wow interesting & very exciting HW :) Sorry to go off topic too folks.
  12. Yes I am really excited thanks HW. Bit nervous about it all but it's just adeniline I think. We have our home on the market. Once that sells we are all systems GO !!!!!! We haven't got an actual plan for our travels, we are just going :)
  13. I had a very similar experience in my early teens. 'Surprise Surprise' something else we have in common HazyWal. My very first puppy of my own I got from school in year 8 off a friend who's mini foxy girl had puppies. I carried her home in my uniform pocket, she was tiny & I doubt she was even 6 weeks old. I called her Polly. Loved her to bits. Although my dad was a dog lover he was raised very 'old school'. So he was very hard at times. He didn't tolerate dogs that chased the horses we breed. I had had darling Polly for quite a few months when I came home from school one day dad told me Polly had 'run away ' Not so long after that I found Polly's little pink collar I had saved up my hard earned pocket money to buy her on top of the fridge in the kitchen.... I asked dad how Polly's collar came to be there & he said, " she kept chasing the horses, thought she was fast but she wasn't fast enough to outrun the pea riffle". I cried myself to sleep for many nights after that & it has stayed with me all these years. Don't mean to put a downer on this thread as I am enjoying hearing & seeing everybodies different stories :)
  14. Thanks for your help Mystiqview :) I have a CC pin brush which I use daily as well as a boar brush. When needed I use my rake & the coat king. I too don't own a Furminator & never liked that ad either  I think they would just destroy the top as well. I bath my guys exactly the way you do as well cause they both are daily beach swimmers & the salt plays havoc with their coat if not rinsed out immediately. My BF is my blow dryer. It is amazing how much dead coat they can discard. Glad to hear I'm pretty much on the right track by the sounds of things then :)
  15. OH & I are planning to travel round AUS in our caravan & this is very doable with our 2 dogs as they both have caravaned since littley's but with anymore there just wouldn't be enough room. As I have both of ours sleep in the van with us of a night in their beds the floor space is very limited. Some folk's have there's sleep in the annex but I couldn't do that as I'd worry they may need me to get up to them during the night & I wouldn't hear them from inside. Also worry they could be stolen very easily from the annex as it is very accessible. So I think the number of dogs you have can be also determined by your life's circumstances. Even if I could manage another dog then one of them would have to be boarded while we are away & miss out on our adventures. Wouldn't be comfortable with myself doing that :)
  16. Totally agree with you Kirislin :) I have 2 BC's. My male is just a wonderful, lay back, lovingly, healthy boy & I could easily manage 4 of him without a drama but my girl is Epilepsy effected as well as being very reactive & extremely noise phobic. I adore her but there is no way I could cope with 2 of her. Not a chance.... So it definitely depends on temp. of your pack & to I think it is very important that each dog that you own has quality attention & time spent with you each day. Apart from the basic's like exercise/food/vet care.
  17. I do use a Mars on both of my guys. I do their pants & tail. Sometimes their rump. I do lift the top coat though & go underneath on the pants section. My girl in particular has an extremely thick coat so I find it the best way to get to her dead under coat. Mystiqview is there a better way I could be using to get rid of any dead undercoat? I like to keep my guys looking their best even though they aren't show dogs. Just personal pride in their appearance I guess
  18. Any medical issue that required me to clip either of mine I would in a heartbeat but if is only by choice, I choose not. My 2 both sunbak if given the chance but I move them to the shade or inside asap :) why they wantt to is way beyond me.
  19. Yeah denali he is..... he was sitting next to me on an out door table awhile ago & he then decides to reel through his very long list of tricks one by one just to see which might get me to dive into my bait bag to reward him. All the while looking lovingly directly at me with those beautiful eye's. Breath takingly handsome is Mr Flynn :)
  20. Yes Nekhbet, totally agree. Shame on the owner I say.
