  1. Oh fair dinkum HazyWal So doesn't matter that it was a lady walking her 2 MUZZLED dogs quietly past & got viciously attacked by these dogs. It ONLY matters if it is a child. Oh I see They haven't got time to make sure the likes of those 2 savage, territorial dogs are not properly maintained with adequate fencing & behind locked gates All I can say is this is going to happen again & it's a wonder this hasn't happened before. Maybe it has but the person is too scared to report it. Who knows. This is just so wrong on so many levels. Makes me so dam mad These dogs will end up killing someone or their precious dog They don't belong in society IMHO.
  2. Oh ness, I thought as the sand was soft it would be better than on the lawn Thank for bringing that to my attention. I didn't know that. No wonder the Vet said both my guys have excellent muscle tone, especially in their hind quarters. Maybe just the swimming for the moment then which is fine as he is a big water baby anyway. Vet wants Xrays to see if he is Arthritic I think. I have been lightly massaging him daily. From memory you use Rosehip Vital ness don't you? I'm going to give it a go. Got it online yesterday at a great price. $65 for a 500g jar As you know only too well all of these vet visits & meds cost $$$$ so any saving is great.
  3. Thanks Pretty Miss Emma. Yes I am having a bit of a bad run atm but Stella is going along much better & seems alot more settled & touch wood, no seizures thus far on new meds. So I'm very quietly extactic thus far Cartrophen was the drug the Vet mentioned. It's definitely his hip's/rear legs that seem to be causing him the most grief. Seems quite stiff & when his legs where extended he reacted quickly in pain. So in that respect quite similar to Kenz. I do hope that Sonny doesn't have Arthritis as he is still a relitively young dog. But your right in saying best to catch it early. I have tweaked his exercise for the moment. More swimming, less ball retrieve. Just thought less stress on his body even though we play on the sand till we get him sorted. Both my guys have Omega 369 + E daily as I give them Megaderm as well as sardines twice a week. The Vet was impressed with his condition & his weight is spot on. He is a big lad. Quite long in body as well. Top end on the BC scale. Very sweet, soft natured boy. Just a delight really. Monday will shed some light on what we are dealing with. Hopefully just a trip to the Chiro or alike Just ordered some Rosehip Vital. So will trail him on it. Can't hurt I thought as it is a natural product. Might give him some relief.
  4. Sonny is going for his Xrays on Monday. They are going to sedate him for this.On examination of him our Vet seemed to be under the impression he could be suffering the on set of Arthritis.Sonny showed slight signs of pain in his mid. back area. Also when the vet went to stretch out his hind legs behind him he whined & you could see he was in definite discomfort. His hip area was causing him grief. In fact the Vet wasn't able to fully stretch out either back leg as Sonny would quickly pull them back in. Poor boy I'm surprised & saddened if this be the case as he is only 5 years old. Seems so young to be Arthritic. I hope I can get him some relief ASAP. The Vet was talking about some injections for him but I can't remember the name of them. Seems they can be very effective with some dogs. They are such a worry our beautiful dogs when they are unwell aren't they? I can't bare to see him suffering Would appreciate doler's thought's on this. Anyone had similar issues???
  5. Poor dog A Whippet chained up outside in Canberra would freeze to death. I wouldn't leave a double coated breed outside in a cold climate Don't blame him for running away.
  6. Yes that's it Hankdog. To Stella almost everything is scary. So I am just going to run like hell away & around in circles to get away but by doing this she just gets more & more anxious the more she runs. So I intercept her train of thought & redirect it to actually think about doing something else & then reward her. eg do a trick, reward. then go lay on your bed. That high anxiety level isn't reached.
  7. Jesus HazyWal, poor Stan & Maddie. Those injuries are shocking & photo's don't show the mental anguish or damage all of this may of caused Give them a big cuddle from us. Fast healing thoughts sent your way The law sux, honestly, what do dogs like these ones have to do before something is done with them & their clueless owners held accountable for their animals. Oh yeah, that's right, we wait until someone is killed or they kill someone's precious pet before we take action. All too little & miles too late for my liking
  8. Yeah, I know it is cheaper the pet grade stuff twodoggies but the quality for me just isn't there is it? I know with the roo meat it isn't even the same texture nor colour. I can't help but think that it may be someone's pony or who know's. I am probably over thinking but that's me
  9. So sorry to hear of your loss MonElite. She was such a gorgeous girl Run pain free now special girl
  10. Oh I might not have explained myself very well HankDog regarding interrupting her 'flight'. The behaviourist suggested I redirect Stella in between the split second when she first goes to react to something she hears, before she takes off running/whining etc.Timing is crucial A lot easier said than done but when I have actually succeeded it has worked very well. She defused her & she didn't entered that elevated state of arousal.
  11. Well done Newfie....Very impressive work
  12. Jesus HM Dogmad.... That is just such a sad story Poor Kelpie I'm sorry but I couldn't of been that forgiving either. Not a chance if it killed one of mine. So very true what you are saying. Paying the Vet bill DOES NOT make it right at all. People should be able to walk their dogs happily & safely. Not be in fear of being attacked or worse. Negligent aggressive dog owners need to be held accountable big time. An unsupervised aggressive dog has no place in society IMHO.
  13. Same here 2doggies I buy mine from Coles or Woolies. It is $$ than the non human grade but it deosn't smell as strong. Far better quality. My guys wont touch the non human grade one I wont feed pet quality meat here anyway as you never really know exactly what type if meat it is.
  14. Yes KC. Lets not forget this whole shocking incident could of been a whole lot more shocking. The could have maulded HW. Killed one of her lovely greys These dogs could of grabbed a smaller dog/ or even a child . I mean who knows. They need to be managed accordingly.
  15. Wonderful news HC :) 30 very happy dogs have a chance for a happy, loving future. Big thanks to all concerned. Great effort :)
  16. Yes thanks Hankdog. I too hope my boy is OK. Gotta remember to breathe LOL. It is difficult with worry at times isn't it? I think I'm to interrupt her flight because her anxiety excalates by 1000% when she flee's. So I am to redirect her eg. call her & get her to perform a trick or something. Snap her out of that thought pattern. Gosh I love the U turn. We do it whenever we need to & it saves a lot of 'fuss' usually. Yes I would loooovvvvee a great regular trainer. That would be a godsend for me. Glad to hear Jake coped well last week & is not over clingy. That's great progress Hankdog
  17. Yes my plan is Xray first then we know what we are dealing with. Hopefully nothing to nasty. I'm worried about it in all honesty
  18. Hi Folk's, Have done a search on this but came up with nothing so I thought I'd ask all you knowledgable doler's about Spine Xray's. Had a Vet/ Behaviourist out to our home the other day for help with my BC girl. Much to my surprise the Vet suggested that Sonny, my 5 year old male was showing signs of back soreness & recommended I get his spine Xrayed & to put him on some Joint Guard or alike. I was shocked as I really hadn't noticed any change in him. I feel so bad. Like I have dropped the ball big time, letting him suffer. Poor boy Stella being such a challanging girl to own she does take a lot of my attention. Anyway I have been giving Sonny some Joint Guard each day since & the change in him is dramatic in just 2 days. He is bouncing around like a 2 year old & doesn't stop running like he used to. I'm amazed. My question is for him to have a back Xray does he have to be anaesthetised ? Has anyone had this happen with their dog? He must have injured himself somehow & it hasn't healed or something, who knows but I'm about to ring the Vet to book him anyway but just out of interest was all.
  19. And it's so awful that in doing the right thing (HW's greys were muzzled, as required by law) they were totally vulnerable, and unable to defend themselves. Dogs that are liable to attack innocent (and often defenceless) passers-by should be kept behind locked gates. How hard is it to put a lock on a gate? Big YES to this... 100% agree
  20. OH Huga, lovely photo's by the way your little boy is just gorgeous. What a cutie, those eye's :)
  21. Oh what !!! She is kidding right ??? So she is going to get nasty HW. This is all you need honestly some people.... Why can't folks just take responsibility for their own actions or in this case lack there of Glad to hear you are reporting this to the police. Mr BC Crazy asked me had you reported it this morning actually when we were both wondering how you were going today. I'm interested to hear what the Ranger has to say about this whole matter as well. Glad you are off to Doc's tommorrow. I so hope they haven't caused you any major health issues Hazy. Bad enough the shocking damage they have caused your Greys.
  22. BUGGAR STAN .... I adore him & have never meet him in person LOL yet !!!!
