  1. Hi everyone, Was wondering for owners like me who have an Epilepsy effected dog, What Heart worm preventive do you use. I used to use the yearly injection for Stella but don't feel that it suitable anymore as her immune system would already be pushed to the limit as it is IMHO. So was thinking the monthly ones would suit us better. There are a lot to choose from these days. Are the generic ones OK. What do you folks recommend? Stella has Advantix every 2 weeks as we have a bad Tick problem where we live so am just in need of the heart worm tablet. Thanks in advance :)
  2. Love this photo gapvic. What beautiful, happy little faces :D
  3. Your most welcome Danali. Very difficult situation to be in as everybody is grieving & everybody that in poor little Henry's life atm would be emotional to say the least I would imagine & rightly so. So just try & keep things as 'calm' as possible around him. Gentle walks, little games & company would be wonderful for Henry. Oh & maybe is you have a spare bed for him, away from folks as well to give him a little space & peace if he feels like it. So he can decide where he wants to rest at times. You know so if he wants to be with peps he can but if not he is still comfortable. This healing will take time for the little bloke & a bit of TLC.
  4. Oh my condolences for your loss Denali As far as dear little Henry is concerned, poor little boy would be really missing her as well. All I have ever done in a similar situations is to carry on as normal as possible with everyday life. Totally understand it will be very difficult to do but try not to overly fuss around him nor moddy coddle him any more than usual. It will take time but the little fella should settle.
  5. Gorgeous Standard. There is serious work in that coat. Loved it TSD... Em is right though. No fun being clean
  6. Hilarious !!! The beautiful cat is like get over yourself, you idiot. Smack ! LOL. :)
  7. Loved thar !!!!! Very clever. Funny as. Thanks for sharing :)
  8. So sorry for your huge loss PRL. One consolation is he passed in the arms of someone he loved, cherished & trusted RIP little fella
  9. Blackhawk certainly didn't suit either of my dogs. Their over all condition just went down hill & their coats lacked the very healthy lustre they once had. Very dry & brittle. Sonny got all this terrible flakey, drandruff like skin condition as well. I wouldn't go near it again for me but again it is whatever your dog does the best on. Holistic Select has worked well here though.
  10. Yes Cazstaff that is so very thoughtful & kind of you to help this dear little girl & her homeless owner :) I too hope you can find a Vet to help you with this. With most poor homeless people, their little pal is all they have. Mini coming into season would be the very last thing she would need. She would be struggling to feed 1 Mini let alone any baby Mini's.
  11. So Sumo has a little filling out to do yet  Gosh BIG beautiful boy. I had no idea I'd thought he might have finished growing now. BC's are usually finished around 13 months old. I'm going to start the B.Day steak cake tradition for my guys as well Cassie. Love that idea & I'm sure Sonny & Stella will love it too
  12. I showed my guys gorgeous Sumo's steak cake. They want one for there next birthday LOL. Out of curiousity is he fully grown now Cassie?
  13. Happy 1st birthday gorgeous Sumo Gosh that year has flown. Sumo has matured beautifully. I don't know anything about giant breeds but he is as handsome as in my book Looks like you had a blast at the river camping & boating. Great to hear he loves the boat Cassie. It's the absolute favorite thing for both my guys to do. They looovvvee the boat. Beautiful photo's as well. My pick is the one with you OH & Sumo in the water. Lovely photo :)
  14. Yes I was going to say my Stella can really turn it on at times in play. To others it has looked & sounded like she is about to rip Sonny's face off. The growling & teeth showing etc. She is full on. My poor mum was terrified the first time she witnessed this  & I have had others say 'aren't you going to stop them' believing that I was allowing them to fight  Believe me you know when she means 'business'. She has the prettiest, mean face I have ever seen. Scary girl
  15. I have seen working dogs get furious with one another before. When they are at " work" their adreniline is pumping. It doesn't take much at times to trigger an arguement. Usually it looks & sounds a lot worse than it actually is. Neither dog is injured. The farmers just whistle or go grab their dog if need be. I presummed that this photo resembled a similar senario, only difference being there was professional photographer there to catch the moment.
  16. Yes I have been watching bits of both. Really enjoying it :) Some lovely BC's.
  17. Great post Erny I nearly soured my first BC as I trained her till she was bored pretty much. Not know any better & so wanting to get everything 'right'. Poor girl, glad I woke up to myself. I am so much more relaxed these days with my guys with the whole training routine & I get far better results now. I used to just watch them lots when I first got them as puppies & we played together lots.I bonded with them & figured out what made them tick. Gradually incorporating slithers of training here & there. Then more fun. Then repeat. We have fun everyday. But we also have boundaries that must be obeyed & they do. Mine are obedient for my requirements. They are learning all the time. I just really enjoy every moment I have with them :)
  18. Ha Ha !! that's what I had to do too. Now I have upsized to a big cane T chest & I can't even close the lid on it as it is over flowing
  19. I would of loved to have seen that Hankdog. How inspiring it must of been
  20. Wow !!! they say girls are the worst together. Great action pic Look at the shoulders on that Kelpie bitch. Lovely shiny coat. She is one well built girl. Hope they sorted there issues without anyone getting seriously hurt. The sheep were out of there... :D
  21. Very clever Kenzie girl :) Glad to see I'm not the only one that has a lounge room that resembles Toys R Us pretty miss emma LOL.
  22. Huski, I use the same,a Chuck it ball launcher everyday at the beach. At the risk of sounding like a dummy LOL should I not be using it that often???? Not quite sure I understand . Does it spoil their work drive or something? My guys love it but they are pets atm. I would like to do Agility or DWD one day though hopefully.
