  1. Great news... at least you have found the cause of the problem. Now you can adjust diet to suit. Sounds like your managing very well as Fanta has been gaining weight already & is doing well :)
  2. Very happy George & his new teddy are settling in so well :)
  3. Raineth, I would love to have access locally to a supportive club like you & Del. It would be invaluable IMHO to have an experience eye/opinion because when you are in the situation or moment you can miss the sometimes obvious. Also new or different ways to manage situations that you may not of thought about trying previously :) I'm going to start both my guys on private lessens I think. Can't afford a lot but just see how we go. The hard thing is finding someone good that isn't booked out. We have very limited 'good' ones around here.
  4. Hi folks, have been away caravaning over Easter so am still playing catch up on everyones progress. Bravo Snook & Justice Well done to you both. How proud you must be Snook :D Stella is going quite well atm. She has been sleeping right through the night for the first time. We are both getting some well earned sleep which is very healing for both of us. Stella hasn't had another seizure since being on meds either, touch wood Her reactivity seems to have increased with other dogs at times outside on walks but has decreased at home in our back yard & she seems far more settled which is wonderful. The dog that used to really trigger Stella & lived behind us doesn't seem to be there anymore so this has certainly helped her as well. Received all my paper work from the Vet/Behaviourist yesterday & he seems to think she is as 'good' as she is going to get & said her prognosis for her future as far as her behaviour/reactivity/noise phobia etc goes is poor in his opinion unfortunately.... She is very genetically impaired apparently. So we will just keep plugging away as he said I'm doing well with her & pretty much doing a lot of what he would advice anyway. Hoping to see some improvement in Sonny over the coming weeks as I have him on anti imflamitories
  5. He is just like my girl Stella who carries a big fluffy pelican, affectionately nick named "Pete" in her mouth pretty much everywhere she goes. I make her leave him at home when we go for long walks each day though because guess who ends up having to carry him home cause she is too tired to  Loving Georgy boy :D
  6. Wonderful news !!!! Enjoy your new home lovely ol' fella :)
  7. Disco dobe, may I ask where you buy the Acana dry food from? Im interested in the Pacifica fish variety but can't seem to find anyone online in au that sell it.

  9. So sorry for loss fainty girl Jessie was such a pretty girl who had a wonderful, full, happy life by the looks of the lovely photo's in your beautiful tribute to her. Love Cattle dog's. Wonderful loving & faithful breed. R.I.P. Jess, beautiful girl
  10. Oh Molly looks lovely :) sweet little dark faced girl.... hope someone can give her the wonderful forever home she deserves very soon.
  11. Very clever.... Loved it !!! Certainly put a big smile on my face :) Thanks for sharing.
  12. Temp, interesting.... with the china med arthritis formula is that a human supplement? The glucosamine chondroitin sounds worth looking into as well. This is the avenue I want to go with him first. Coukd you tell me where you purchase these from PM me if you'd prefer
  13. Amazing stories of just how wonderfully intuitive our beautiful dogs can be. Really enjoying these tales. I to hope many others share their stories
  14. Totally agree.... lets hope so for the poor dogs sake.
  15. Out of curiousity, had Sonny been hip scored previously and were his parents scored? Yes, Sonny is an AI boy who's dad hip score was 0.0 & his mum is 1.10.
  16. Just an update on Sonny. Results of Spine Xray's done yesterday. Xrayed spine & knee's which all looked great. Unfortunately both Sonny's hips are effected by Arthritis quite severely for a 5 year old dog. I'm deeply saddened by this news. I don't wont him to be in pain/suffering all the time I also hope he doesn't 'get old' before his time Anyway at least I know where we are at now I guess & I will manage him as best as I can. I have never allowed my dogs to suffer extreme's in weather temp be it too cold or hot. Vet said that was great as the cold will play havoc with him. Sonny has never slept outside on the ground which is another 'no no'. And he swims daily which is a big plus as it isn't a weight baring exercise. I help him into the back of my car as sometimes he has shown some reluctance to jump up & I thought he was just being a bit lazy As far as actual treatment goes there is no cure of course just management. I have decided to try Rose Hip Vital first. See how he goes on that. I have him on Megaderm daily, which the Vet also said was great. Thanks for everyone's support/help. Don't know what I'd do without it. Any further advice I always welcome.

  19. What a gorgeous big boy George is. Lovely photo with his new teddy. Is is a very lucky boy to have found such a loving new family :)
  20. Sorry to hear about the troubles you have been having with your Husky iltby. I have a 3 year old BC that was diagnosed with Epilepsy 5 months ago. She has only just started taking medication for it. She is on Phenomav 100mg, half twice a day. Which is a mid range dose. She is also taking Kalma 2mg as her seizures seem to be triggered by stress. The first week on meds was terrible. She was incontinent & very aggitated. Then she just seemed to settle once her system got used to it. She is doing very well atm & no seizures. I also have her on McDowells herbal Epilepsy drops + nerve recovery as she is a very anxious girl. I have found massage has helped & do this morning & night before bed. Hope I was of some help. I understand how very stressful this situation can be. Very worrying time. Every dog is different & what works for one may not work for the other. Good luck with your Husky & hope things settle soon. Maybe if you move this thread to the Health/grooming section you may be able to get more advice??? Just a thought. I have a thread about Epilepsy over there.
  21. Hazy, don't be hard on yourself. I think you are handling this whole totally unfair horror story very well. You have every right to feel the extremes of all your emotions. You & your grey's have been through a traumatic situation. The damage is well & truly done both physically & mentally. This is going to take a lot of time to recover. I'd be a nervous wreck too, no doubt about that. Take care, try & relax as best you can. Things will settle down I'm sure. One day at a time.
