  1. Yes, please don't blame yourself. Everything would of been happening at 10000 miles an hour with the sheer terror that was before you. The blame lays squarely on the shoulders of your neighbor by all accounts.
  2. Hi Rhiannon, Not a showie/breeder but my 2cents worth. I wouldn't be washing her twice a week as it is too much. It will strip the natural oils out of her coats which help her combat the elements. I only use shampoo on my guys once every 3 week or monthly & I always dilute it, never put it directly onto the coat. I would up the sardines & add Omega 3,6, & 9 in the form of Megaderm perhaps. I also swear by Plush Puppy Sea breeze oil in the final bath rinse & I also groom with this. It is expensive but little goes a long way. Fantastic product. Protects the coat/ends & keeps it healthy. Both my guys are avid salt water swimmers & I find it really knocks their coat round. Especially top of rump & pants get bleached as well. This is what I do to combat that. Good luck :)
  3. I'm certainly not judging anyone. Some folk being terrified & in shock they just shut down & simply cant do anything. My mum is like that. She just panic's. I tend not to think about me in when in comes to something happening to my dogs. I would probably just drive in & end up in hospital or worse. I doubt that would stop me though but we are all different I guess.
  4. Hmmm yes must admit I wonder the same. Horrific way to go, absolutely shocking...
  5. She's sorry... That's pathetic !!! Shit words is very true what you say If this happened to one of my dogs they'd have to lock me up I would be sooooo dam angry & upset. I would be inconsolable & I'd hate to think what I'd do to my neighbor. Not that it would solve anything I know but I very much doubt I would be able to control myself in all honesty.
  6. Wrestle him Why do some people think this is how you interact with a dog???? Wrestling only gee's up your dog & is an open door for things to get out of hand. Unnecessary IMO. Glad you put him in his place. As others have said your dogs, your rules otherwise they don't get to hang out with him, period... My OH had a casual mate & I didn't like the way he was around Stella. She is a nervy girl & he was always trying to take her 'sucky' toy off her & try to play tugs with it. Thought it was funny. On his third attempt I said not to take it off her & sent her away from him. He just really irritated me because he said she shouldn't have a 'dummy' as she isn't a baby, hahaha. But he got the message & OH doesn't mix with him anymore thankfully. My dog, my rules.
  7. So sorry to read this Crits Tragic thing to happen. RIP Finnigan
  8. Jesus.... What the hell A NO SHOW. There good aren't they. Then write a story without you I hope she has got it bloody right as well Hazy. Unbelievable that is.
  9. Quick update regarding the Black Dog hands free leash & Stella. Very impressed with this Really great quality & very strong. I used it today on & off & loved it. Stella didn't even notice the difference either I don't think. The do up clasp was a bit hard to work out at first as you have to put one side right through the other then push to close but again very strong once closed. Which was my main concern to be honest. I put my bait bag on it as well & off we went. Too easy !! :D
  10. Ever so sorry to hear you lost your precious Husky in such a vicious way He was set upon in his own yard. This scenario is just so very sad for all concerned & should never happen if people just obeyed the rules. RIP lovely Husky
  11. I wish I had a puppy, I'd be signed up in a heart beat For folks like me that don't live near any good training clubs. This would be a godsend. You couldn't go wrong under Kelly's supervision. She is a wealth of all things dog. She is such a nice human being as well.... Kelly is also superwoman I think  she never stops.
  12. Wow !! they look very nazzie... Lovely & good value. Don't blame Lana for not sharing, I wouldn't want to either
  13. The ingredients list looks very impressive. Will follow your feedback to see how your Huskis go on it Yonjuro :)
  14. Same here ness. Both of mine use the sides of the Snooza cuddler like a pillow :)
  15. Yes DA... Exactly ! I truly believe that dog could of taken that boys life. He wasn't stuffing about. He meant business.
  16. Augustines Super Boost may be helpful. Both my guys get a t spoon sprinkled in their evening meal. Might suit your Gus :)
  17. Happy 15th Birthday Penny What a mile stone you have reached girl.
  18. I felt uneasy watching the kid pull on the cats leg. Geez I better watch that again then as i didn't see any leg pulling. Ouch !!!
  19. What a amazingly brave kitty I saw this on the news last night & couldn't believe my eye's at fist. I have not doubt that that cat saved that little boy's life. That dog really meant business & only 8 months old they say. Extremely scary aggression in one so young. Loved the after video with the very lucky boy sitting on the lounge with his "hero" cat sitting beside him purring his head off. Just beautiful....
  20. R.I.P. Benshiva Heaven Can Wait, "Angel"... Such a beautiful girl. You are very sadly missed but your legacy lives on through your beautiful & much loved progeny. So sorry for your loss Benshiva
  21. Oh he is only 7. That is only 1 year older than my boy Such a terrible shock for you & yours. I'm sure his time left here will be a blast & will be full of precious heartwarming memories. Thoughts are with you at this most difficult time Raineth. Sorry for taking this thread OT again but I'm sure all of us would support each other in difficult times like these.
  22. Yes it does doesn't it :D There are a lot of 'what if's & different circumstances to consider. Lets face it they are attached to something mighty precious to us. I wont be relying on my hands free alone near roads or anywhere where things could come undone. But for a quiet area & to give my hands a breather I will certainly be using it. I'm thinking once I get more confident using it I will buy a running bungee lead, as you can buy them separately & use that instead. but as I am more than a little unco I will start off simply. I also figure shorter leash, less to trip over  Raineth just read somewhere your dog is sick???? Ever so sorry
  23. Just brought a Black dog hands free leash system. Waiting for it to be delivered. Will update on how we go with it. I actually did have a play with my bungee lead threaded through my bait bag belt first, then a normal shortish leash on a quiet bush track the other day. I found that I preferred a shorter leash seemed to feel better to me. My bungee is over 100cm long & it seemed to feel like Stella had more leverage to pull me off balance than with the short, normal leash. But my hands were thanking me  it was so much easier for me. Did feel very strange though so it will take some getting used to. Stella didn't seem to notice nor mind. She is excellent on lead, doesn't pull & walks well in heel position as long as there is nothing rushing by ie. a garbage truck or alike. So I think it comes down to the individual & what feels right. Raineth, I did a fair amount of research into these hands free things & I too wouldn't touch one with a Velcro fastening type deal. The Snooza one has that, not strong/reliable enough IMO. Cardiocanine customer reviews seem to say that while thy are good their system is rather complicated to do & undo. But I can't actually seem to find a picture that shows that. Those Running bungee ones look terrific & I was very close to buying one but I felt the belt looked a bit narrow for my liking & I prefer the leash to be in a fixed position, not being able to move around the belt. But thats just me.
  24. Stunning... great capture.
