Oh he may have injured himself somehow HO. Poor fella. Try to stay calm & keep a close eye on him. If your worried maybe a Vet visit tomorrow.

Sonny has growled at me when I have been doing his feet at around that age. He was throwing his weight around. I ignored him & continued. I always offer treats but he doesn't eat them till I'm done with his nails even now. He just isn't a fan of having of the manicure. He turns his head away & pretends not to look. He will be 6 next month. He has given up on the growling though LOL. Unless you are concerned about Hank having some kind of injury HO, i'd just continue clipping quickly & praise etc when done. They will bung it on at that age. Just ignore unless you are unsure then maybe your OH or trusted Vet could do them for a while till you regain your confidence. Best of luck :)

Jesus so sorry bianca Poor Coop is a young fella to be having a hip replacement but obviously much needed. Even when you know that he may well of needed another opp. It would still be awful news to face bianca. Thoughts are with you at this stressful time. Good luck.Keep us posted.

Crazy sales..... very interesting ;)

Sonny is very long in the body so I will have to opt for a large size & will probably have the same issues then. I usually get Sonny 65cm in length.

LisaCC, love that pic of Nova  The hat certainly sets off that outfit  I too have a Weather Betta Rainstop for both my guys but they keep slipping around & when it is bucket down with rain both of my dog's got wet through, I don't want Sonny wet on a cold day. I'm looking at the Hurtta raincoat type. May well do the trick I think. They look well made too.

Oh ok, but I need them to be water resistant as well for when we are out in the elements.

Just had a look at the quilted ones ness, they are lovely & therapeutic as well for Arthritic dogs. Hmmm amazing!! That's the other thing I don't want to cook him LOL but just like him not to feel the cold. I feel the cold, hate it, but it is hard to tell if my guys are too hot with coats on at times. They both are pretty heavily coated anyway.

Thanks ness, oh that's right we have had this discussion already. I remember the molasses coming into it :) May not suit us as I have to keep the weight off Sonny & molasses is yummy but can be fattening :D

They look great Sheena Am looking at getting Sonny a new coat this winter. We don't live in a cold part of the world but we travel to the Barringtons & other colder areas to camp. Sonny having Arthritic hips I want to keep him as warm possible. Thanks for the heads up regarding those :)

Oh is it Jules P? Can you give dogs the human version?

I too find the Adaptil spray works far more effectivley here as well westiemum. Tried the collar with no real signs of improvement. I too spray Stella's bed before going to bed each night. She now sleeps right threw each night which is something she has never been able to do due to her high anxiety/ arousal. I buy mine at Pets on the Park. Yes it is expensive but you only use it sparingly. Good luck :)

Quick update regarding Sonny. I have had him on Rose Hip Vital Canine for a fortnight now & what a huge difference it has made He is bouncing around like a 2 year old again. He's moving so much freer. Such a difference even in his face & eye's, he is back to being a really happy boy again. So wonderful to witness the transformation in a short period of time. I wouldn't of believed it unless I witnessed it myself. I have upped his swimming & lessened his running around. Doing more scent work as well as it isn't taxing on his joints. I just have to keep an eye on him as I don't want him to over do it now in all of his 'I feel good' moments  I'm wrapped with RHVC & will continue to use it. Have got Stella on the maintance dose as well, can't hurt Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts & help

"proper" Dog Friendly Retreat Type Accomodation In Victoria
BC Crazy replied to osusoy's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've stayed in a couple of places belonging to this company. http://www.oceanbluecoastalretreats.com.au/ They have quite a few places that are dog friendly. Dogs are allowed inside but not on furniture, which is fine with me as I don't do dogs on furniture. Thanks for the 'heads up' JulesP. Gosh some of those places look just lovely & within reasonable to the in-laws. I like the one in Rye, Shear water cottage, perfect !! Thanks again. Appreciate it :) -
"proper" Dog Friendly Retreat Type Accomodation In Victoria
BC Crazy replied to osusoy's topic in General Dog Discussion
That's a shame megan about the Agility equipment being unsafe etc. I have been following this thread with great interest as I too am looking for dog friendly as my inlaws live in Mornington & have just moved into one of those retirement places but unfortunately it has a No Dogs policy so we are unable to stay there. I thought the mentioned place would be ideal but when looking at exactly where it is, it is located too far away. So will just keep looking. Sorry OP not meaning to derail your thread at all :) -
Oh yes the corner of the bed covers is the BEST !! Couldn't tell you how often I come home to find Sonny's bed out in the middle of the back yard after he had towed it all the way out there  They are just being puppies. I miss that actually. So much fun. As far as mouthing you feet, I haven't had that problem but I would just gently but firmly hold his muzzle with a low toned "no" & turn away. Don't have to be rough just firm & consistent. He will gt the message. Enjoy Murphy, he's lovely :)

This is so surprisingly sad DMad. Something that never entered my head. You'd think all Vets are compassionate & animal lovers. Makes me shudder at the thought of anything less

Tell Me Everything You Know About Arousal
BC Crazy replied to raineth's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Massage has helped my girl Raineth. Did read somewhere that to have their jaw/face/head massaged helps relieve stress as that is where they hold a lot of tension. I have been trying this, at first Stella wasn't keen about it but have persevered a couple of times a day. Only for a minute or so, slow & gently. She seems to quite enjoy it now as she comes to me & lays down when she knows it is around the time I usually do it. Just before dinner & breakfast. I do think it may be helping her stressful outbursts a little. Hope this may help you :) Am watching this thread with interest. -
Beautiful photo's once again gapvic I too am a tad green. Love your wheels :D Hazy, Stan is looking as cool as ever  great shot

Training A Dog That Is Too Treat Focused ?
BC Crazy replied to BC Crazy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
 right. Sometimes I wonder LOL. I tried that with Sonny & he is like "well I didn't want to play anyway" & refuses to bring the ball back, full stop. Bugger. He isn't a retrieve fan really. He likes the chase is all. I have ignored Stella when she hasn't brought the ball all the way back & after waiting she will move the ball closer of her own accord. So I should wait till she moves it right to my feet then not just close enough then no matter how long it takes. K then. I know she probably will I haven't been patient enough is all I guess. Sorry but have taken my own thread way OK so went & did a little bit of training with Stella & at the end I rewarded he with a change 'go find your treats' in an excited voice & threw a few round. At first she was like what the hell but that changed quickly & she loved it :)
