  1. You can't? Surely you can to some extent. Not every time. If I see a dog posturing its easy to assume the worst, but I have also had a quietly sitting dog, showing no overt aggressive signs, quickly lunge & snap at my dog as she has walked past. On more than one occasion when walking onlead on a street. It pays to always be slightly out of reach! Erring on the side of caution. Yeah i agree, ive had a cattle dog run up and barking at me like she was going to bite and she just jumped up to say hello wagging her tail and licking i think the quiet ones you have to be more cautious of :p
  2. i dnt see the reason to have to kick a 14yr old dog even if it was self defence after all it is a little dog and old.
  3. if its not on the property it is legally a stray, IMO i would take it rather then waiting for months and the dog getting smooshed by a car.
  4. i think its a great idea! :D photos are a must too
  5. I was under the impression that a guide dog puppy has the same exemption rules that apply to guide dogs. It is important that they are socialised in all areas that a guide dog may have to work in. I have seen guide dog puppies in shopping centres and in the airport. Ive seen one in the shopping centre the lady had the puppy in a trolley
  6. sorry the bolded part made me laugh but the puppy mum got for free was a mistake litter and it was mums friends male dog got into the yard of a purebred female cattle dog and well yeah she got pregnant.... The owner told my mums friend she has to find homes for half the litter and mum took one. She turned out to be a great dog until she got a paralysis tick at the age of 7yrs and we lost her
  7. Well i think it would be a good idea if teachers could occasionaly bring in their dogs
  8. sorry that made me laugh personally i just think they sense certain things by smell etc that we humans cant pick up on.
  9. I love that Roxy is awesomely loveable towards humans and any dog/cat even chooks LOL! It surprises and impresses so many people. People always ask if she is aggressive and when i laugh a reply that shes quiet as a lamb everybody wants a pat and she just laps it up, most kneel to pat her and she puts one paw up and rests her head in their lap/knee LOL. Sucks them right in ! To change someones mind about a breed because your dog is such a great exampleof the good side of the breed is an awesome feeling!!! Makes you very proud :D ! She is just so subissive too, she lies down and rolls on her back so puppies can stand over her LOL. So i think its hilarious when little dogs rush up and their owners freak, and i can be like all "get that vicious dog away!" LOL, i don't but i could ! But i love the fact i can completely trust her with people and animals, her only problem is she can be over excited and jump around and get in the faces of other dogs but its something i'm aware of and keep an eye on. But i also love the fact when shes on the lead she can also be very ignorant of the reactions of other dogs, and has the ability to ignore an aggressive dog. Testament to her, me as her owner and trainer and her breeder Awww she seems lovely :D
  10. my first dog was a freebie, my second dog was from a shelter.
  11. I just went through the topics i have posted and this is the first one about an ad? So i think you have gotten me confused with someone else? I was just asking again if i could do something because i thought it was wrong.
  12. Yes it did I knew it wasnt a police matter but i was just asking if i could do something about it. But obviously i cant and a few people on here think its okay what if this dog gets out and attacks someone. He is basically buying it to be pts, I know he hasnt got it yet but its the fact he is looking for a dog that will bite someone. People on here sure change opinions a lot.
  13. Basically it said i want a guard dog that will bite someone. Seriously and the photo he has was of a rottweiler is there a way where you can report ads like this to the council? oh he spelt guard like this *gard* just an uneducated idiot.
  14. Well ive grown up around families who have owned staffords and brought them up well so i gotta say i dont feel anything bad for the breed at all. Chihuahua's i got to say i havent met a nice one always all nippy around the owners, but im sure its lack of socialisation. So i dont think i do
  15. IMO colour shouldnt matter in any dog, you should check temperament above else especially if its going to be a family dog.
  16. Was that the one on foxtel if so i have seen it
