  1. The RSPCA almost always list greyhounds as crosses for some reason when it's obvious they are not. I have no idea why they do that :/
  2. There's this one in Tooradin as well. There was another greyhound facility for sale at Tooradin a few months ago that was beautiful but I can't find it again now, maybe sold or withdrawn. Seems a mass exodus of greyhound trainers from Tooradin. http://www.realestate.com.au/property-lifestyle-vic-tooradin-7740023
  3. Unfortunately happens all the time at various ages for all sorts of reasons There are two 13 year old Lab girls, one with Labrador Rescue and one with Labradog Rescue looking for new homes What about the poor old 9 year old Lab also in Yagoona http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3&state=2&searchTypeId=4&pagesize=15&task=view&tpage=6&searchType=4&animalid=430448 Poor girl, I didn't know about her being there as well as Lab Rescue only posted about Gizmo on Facebook, so I was essentially giving him an extra plug. I will check to see if both Lab rescues know about Simba. Thanks. I don't think Yagoona work with rescue though do they? :/ I know my RSPCA back home in Somersby do, I wish they all would
  4. So happy to report that this little fellow has found a fantastic home now!! Yay happy days Alfred Yes, fantastic home and I get to keep my foster dog - channels Golum - my precious - a bit longer LOL .. not keen to part with him at all if the truth be known!! Is that an Ig Jane? The one in the pics in the Whippy Wonder Bed?
  5. This is her Rugerfly? http://www.gapnsw.com.au/winky-greenhound-in-training/
  6. Yep sure do, two of them :D You do realise you can never just have one greyhound, they are addictive! Congrats on your new hound
  7. So happy to report that this little fellow has found a fantastic home now!! Yay happy days Alfred
  8. What about the poor old 9 year old Lab also in Yagoona http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3&state=2&searchTypeId=4&pagesize=15&task=view&tpage=6&searchType=4&animalid=430448
  9. See if I can do it again  Max is and 8 and a half year old JRT available for no fee from the RSPCA Pets Place in Epping Victoria http://rspcavic.org/adoption/animal-detail/Jack-Russell-Terrier/Max/26927 Max has been adopted!
  10. Bimbi is 7 years of age and is listed as a long haired Dachshund. She is available form the Burwood RSPCA in Victoria for no adoption fee. http://rspcavic.org/adoption/animal-detail/Dachsund,-Longhaired/Bimbi/27099
  11. Stan's mostly a squatter, desexed male and no smell. UNLESS it's raining in which case he will hold on for 12 hours and then wee the thickest yellow stream that you could cut with a knife straight onto one of his front legs It's amazing it doesn't burn the fur off O.o
  12. I had no idea greyhounds are so affectionate. I grew up in a racing family and only considered them race dogs until I had them as pets, they crave affection like no other dog I've owned.
  13. Yeah well they're pretty low down lol. I remember having lunch with my friend and her Daccies in a café in Double Bay and a lady sitting at the next table said in a very posh voice "oh my look at their little ankles!" my friend replied "ankles? that's their legs!"
  14. Oh god yes Daccies can bark up a storm. A friend has 4 of them, she's always owned them, they go everywhere with her she's a groomer and they go to work with her everyday so they are definitely not bored but someone knock on the door or hear a noise?? off they go!
  15. Vizslas are THE Velcro breed :) Never had a greyhound have you? :)
  16. Many of the rescue hounds are tested with cats and small animals :) And as Maddy said MANY are not tested properly. I have a friend with a grey that lives happily with her cats, small dog and free range chickens and has done for 6 years yet recently attacked the cat next door. The age of a greyhound does not mean they will be cat tolerant.
  17. Just bumping these two, please share on FB if you can they urgently need foster care
  18. Happy Birthday Feather you divine little girl Lots of kisses from Me, Stan and Maddie xxx especially Stanley xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
  19. Dear little Alfred is listed as a terrier mix and is 10 years old. He was a bit of a mess with a terrible flea infestation when he came to the shelter but he is on the mend now and that wirey fur is growing back. Alfred is available from Gosford Dog Paws (pound) on the Central Coast of NSW. https://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/367626
  20. Beautiful Bella has been adopted - not by my colleague as she couldn't go until this coming weekend and she's really upset that she's missed out. If you see any old Boxers please let me know - her family are also looking out for her Good news for Bella! No worries Jane I will make it my mission to find one  there was an older one in Somersby not long ago too but was quickly adopted. I hope Bella has a wonderful new home
  21. I so wanted to smack that evil grin right off his face when I saw it on the news last night What a f*cking cretin he is, I hope he rots.
  22. The thundershirt is a godsend for Stan. He is very storm phobic but put it on him and he looks like he's sipping a cocktail on a beach in Fiji. Maddie is not storm phobic but absolutely petrified of fireworks and it doesn't work for her at all
