  1. Sadly, I do! And will for a long time, so I suppose its a blessing in disguise. I also have Refresh Night Time gel (formerly Lacrilube), ingredients are liquid paraffin (42.5%) and soft white paraffin (57.3%) - would this be safe to use too? So I'm sure you'd know that Chlorsig is useless after 4 weeks once opened. I suffer from styes and use it regularly, it is just available over the counter at the chemist.
  2. Well I can tell you something for nothing I aint sewing up a wound with needle and cotton for love nor money Mine's pretty average... Vet Wrap Sticky plaster Gauze pads Neocort Betadine Ointment Ungvita ointment No lick stuff (don't know what it's called I buy it from the vet) ...and the best invention since sliced bread...Solugel.
  3. No worries Larissa and Stressy I'm glad you enjoyed it. Greyhounds turned my life around at a very dark time so if one inmate can take a positive from these gorgeous dogs then that can only be a good thing. I did see a doco on greyhounds in a very hard women's prison in WA a few years ago and it was amazing how it had not only helped the dogs but had really changed the usually disruptive behaviour of a few women that became involved in the programme. It was a huge positive.
  4. Bunnings at Rosebud Victoria had no idea what I was talking about either and I couldn't find anything that resembled them :/
  5. Channel 10 Melbourne recently did a story on the Prison Pet Partnership with greyhounds from GAP Victoria in Dhurringile Prison. http://tenplay.com.au/news/melbourne/2015/6/4/from-grey-bars-to-greyhounds
  6. Well he's been adopted so I hope it's someone who is breed savvy so he doesn't end up back in the shelter again :/
  7. You've also learnt it's necessary to padlock your fridge. And the freezer! I should say I never really had nice things before Stan but I really did like my second hand click clack lounge before he dug a honking big hole in the middle of it and he now won't lay on it because...well...it's got a honking big hole in it!
  8. Cowra is not the only country pound that is run like this there are many. Only a few years ago Gosford Pound was the same until Elise took over under private tender, dogs were shoved in cold, filthy pens together regardless of breed.
  9. That having nice things is no longer possible
  10. Isaac is 11 years old and listed as a Lhasa Apso X. He has ended up at the shelter through no fault of his own and is suited to a more mature household, he is unsure with close handling but would love to curl up at your feet this winter. This dear old man is waiting at the RSPCA Yagoona in Sydney. http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3&state=2&searchTypeId=4&pagesize=15&task=view&tpage=5&searchType=4&animalid=431270 I can't upload a photo as it says the file is too big Isaac has been adopted
  11. He's 6 years 9 months, I have no idea how long lived they are and yes Somersby are great to work with as far as rescue goes. The shelter manager and staff are wonderful.
  12. Somersby RSPCA have an almost 7 year old Anatolian Shepherd in their shelter. Now I know nothing about this breed so he may be a cross but just in case he's not I'd thought I'd let anyone interested know. Somersby RSPCA is on the Central Coast of NSW one hour North of Sydney. This shelter WILL work with reputable rescue, I used to cat test greyhounds here. http://adoptapet.com.au/animal/animalDetails.asp?animalType=3&state=2&tpage=1&searchType=4&animalid=202232
  13. You were right the first time :D
  14. Neither do I and I don't see anything aaawwwww about "pleeeease don't put my d**k on facebook"
  15. Um what am I supposed to be watching? I just watched a vid of a couple breaking up and him begging her not to put photos of his penis on Facebook
  16. Are they aware of the back problem that can occur in Dachshunds? My friend has had them all her life and has had three so far that have had surgery, two were successful but Doug remained paralysed for 6 years after the op. He had a special wheelchair that she purchased from the US and all up cost an absolute fortune. If they are not prepared for a bit of dog hair on their clothes are they prepared to face "issues" that may arise in a lot of purebred dogs?
  17. Hmmmm ok then :) Would you expect anything else from me RuralPug? :p
  18. If they fostered with a responsible group and issues arise then the dog goes back that's the beauty of fostering with a view to adopt, you know, try before you buy? Dunno sounds to me they may not be up to the commitment of a dog at all :/
  19. Oh she's boodiful Trish! That's wonderful you have another grey :)
  20. I think a greyhound fits the bill for sure. Unlike most breeds greys have no smell, I bath my two about once a year, a quick wipe over with a grooming mitt when I remember long lived with no genetic disorders such as HD. I don't walk mine everyday as they have a nice big yard to zoom in but an hour a day would be fine for a grey. They could foster first to see if a greyhound suits them but it is VERY important to go to a reputable greyhound rescue. They are sadly a dime a dozen now and rehoming unsuitable dogs all over the place What state are they in Lhok?
  21. Oh wow thanks for the heads up! A friends dog died from it after eating a packet of gum she found Mine rarely have it but I just checked mine which is Bramwells Crunchy from Aldi and no xylitol listed.
  22. I thought it was so that the dogs were not subject to muzzling laws being "crosses". Could be wrong though. No that is a tactic used by the dodgy rehoming groups and is actually illegal. Almost all racing greys will have at least one ear tatt, crosses do not, most greys in the pound and RSPCA are surrendered by trainers with paperwork. No idea then. I assumed that they mustnt have had tatts and therefore could pass as a cross. Seems to be plenty of breeds listed as crosses by them that clearly look pure to me. Do crossbreeds rehome easier? No idea, just thinking out loud now :) Yeah I don't know either. I used to do some cat testing of greys at my local RSPCA back home, they all had ear tatts and they were almost always listed as crosses. I always meant to ask but I forgot every time
