  7. Oh no I'm a long way from Ballarat or I would be out helping with the search, I've done it many times before. I'll share on FB.
  8. Yes I saw it on the news tonight and the first thing I thought of was the peeps that have poo pooed any suggestion of dog theft in previous threads in here O.o
  9. What's a worries bag? Those environmental bags that you buy and never worry about taking to the shops...well I don't I forget them every time
  10. I saw this on a FB page I'm on and thought it was worth sharing. Someone cut the sides out of a shopping bag to make a sling with handles for their dog that was having trouble in his hind legs. ETA sorry that first pic is huge :/
  11. Skye is a gorgeous 10 year old blue and white girl who is available form Greyhound Safety Net in Victoria. So many senior greyhounds looking for homes A bit about Skye... Picture Skye is a beautiful White and Blue girl. She is a super friendly mature girl, who loves the company of humans and is a very happy confident girl, not much fazes her at all. She is easy going; as long as she gets her morning walk and breakfast she will be happy to sleep the day away. Skye is quite energetic for a 10 year old, and can easily walk 2 km. She loves to lounge around, and with her soft fur, you will want to pat her all day. Skye would be ideally suited to a quieter home (either no children or older children). She would be suitable as only dog if she has company the majority of the time, otherwise, she would be fine with a medium/large breed, low energy canine companion.
  12. Yeah the guy that put in my new gas heater last month was here for hours so I let them out, he had a lovely chat to Stan who was laying on the lounge overseeing his work. Even the JW that came knocking on the door loved them. After about 10 minutes of saying how he would love a greyhound but had a cat he got me to write down GAPVIC's details and was so happy he walked away forgetting to give me his Jesus pamphlet
  13. My two are lunatics so if they are dog people I just hold onto them until they calm down or if it's a tradesman or someone they get put in the bedroom.
  14. PM dogmad too juice, she knows all sorts of hound rescues who could back you up I'm sure.
  15. I just went looking on Gumtree but only found a male in SA for $500 :/ I've never heard of them either and now there's two! Beautiful looking dog.
  16. Stan demands a chicken wing at 11am. He starts barking in my face about 10 to 11, you could set your watch by him. He doesn't care where we are either, we were at a cafe with Doler Beltar when he started to get a bit antsy and then the barking started. I asked Beltar the time and she said 11am. He was like a bratty child that was stomping his feet in public demanding his chicken wing and then when he realised I don't actually carry chicken wings around with me he was staring longingly at the waitress every time she walked past just in case SHE might have a chicken wing. The couple behind us said "oh isn't he funny" and I was like "yeah...hilarious" We have a repeat performance of that for dinner which starts about 3.30pm, food is the highlight of Stan's life!
  17. Stanley this morning awaiting the polar vortex to hit Victoria....he's under there somewhere
  18. Lucky is listed as Dalmation cross and is 9 years and 4 months. She is available for NO FEE from the RSPCA in Ballarat Victoria. http://www.rspcavic.org/adoption/animal-detail/Dalmatian/Lucky/27976 Looks like Lucky has been adopted!
  19. Poor Don! Sounds like something Stan would do, he does regularly get his head stuck in the end of my 4 poster bed but if he lifts it an inch he can get out. He can't work that out though coz....Stan.
  20. Greys should be muzzled for the run, racing greyhounds are muzzled during a race and they are only running with their own kind so the temptation may be too great with other breeds around them IMO.
  21. Poppy is a gorgeous 9 year old girl who is a available from Greyhound Safety Net in Victoria. http://www.greyhoundsafetynet.org/greyhounds-for-adoption-in-victoria.html Her carer writes.... Picture Poppy has made an amazing adjustment to family life and is a joy to live with. She is affectionate, friendly to all she meets, calm, gentle and alert. Nothing seems to faze her. Poppy loves people and she is loved right back. She really enjoys her walks and socialising. Poppy walks well on a lead, only pulling when she is excited about seeing another dog. She has approached every dog wagging her tail. She has very quickly learnt "Stop" and "Go" when out walking. Poppy needs help getting into a car but she is a quick learner so that may change soon. She travels well in a car and loves being included in any activity such as a walk along the shops and the beach. Poppy sleeps well inside and only rises when we do. It will be a very fortunate family/person who adopts Poppy.
  22. Stan is not your typical velcro greyhound unless you're a visitor, he looooves visitors and will lay all over them but with me he's meh. The only time he really seeks out a cuddle is at night when he sleeps snuggled up to me. He spends all day either in my bed, on the lounge or on his hammock bed out the back. Maddie never lets me out of her sight and she's very affectionate all the time, she'd be happy for me to kiss her face all day.
