Hi Guys, The Slow Dane Challenge needs some reccomendations of trick how to videos. After spending hours on youtube I think I have found many of them. Do you have any fav channels on youtube that have how to's? I thought some doggy dancing how to's might be good too?

Just reduce her intake -
Allergies could be a cause. My girl does the same thing when she has certain proteins.

Why aren't you worried? Vomiting and Bloody stools would warrant a visit to the Vet? -
I have 4 different styles of Snooza's and all have gone flat over time...I think that's pretty standard.

In my personal experiencing, desexing has improved some attitude problems in dogs that didn't handle their hormones very well however training is always the best cure i.m.o. My personal opinion is that if there is a dog not handling it's hormones well then give it the chop regardless of age for its' own sake and its' owners sake. In your case I don't believe desexing will assist, I believe this dog needs to be put in his place and recieve appropriate training to be around the kids, I don't believe "Avoid the kids" is a very good method employed by the trainer.

Not sure if your dogs have whelped a litter before, but they shouldn't be blood donors in they have. Just a thought. Nup, no babies

I have 3 Danes that might be able to fit the bill. One was just desexed today, so not sure if she'll be ok to do it. (49kgs) One is 10, so not sure if she's ok to do it. (46kgs) One is on Cortisone, so not sure if he's ok to do it. (56kgs) If your Vet feels that one of them may be suitable let me know.

I was paranoid about my Dane as a pup but these days I have come to realise that "Bloat Happens", we can put in all the preventatives we want but it still happens. The dogs I know that have bloated have bloated not doing any of the things 'we think' causes bloat. Just know the signs and watch for them

I am still giving fish oil - 3 tablets a day + EPO - 4 tablets a day - Beans is 16kg. Yeah, my guys are 22.4 & 31.5kg, so they get 5 & 6 salmon oil respectively, I'd then give 1-2 caps of EPO as well, Mandy said to give them the same level, which would make 10g and 12g of polyunsaturated fatty acids for my guys... so I'm rechallenging it and then I'll add it in slowly at the higher level if they tolerate it. That's a fairly high amount of PUFAs, esp. when I can't add Vit E back into the diet, until its rechallenged and ok. At the lower level, it didn't do much more than the salmon oil by itself, so I will be interested to see if feeding it at the higher dose will make a lot of difference. If it doesn't, I'll swap to Borage oil again (its more expensive though), as that is what held Zayda together through her second elimination diet. When did you last see Mandy - just wondering as I saw her 3 weeks ago the day after she got back from the US and I think at the conference she went to that is where they were discussing the results of giving much higher doses of EPO's and the success they were having. I am definitely a fan What is the dossage rate they are reccomending?

Black Bronson, you say the most amazing things across different threads.....what's your deal....are you just trying to bait people or are you truely serious about what comes out of your mouth?

Yes, this has been my experience rather than what Sas has experienced. While it's generally managable with my girls there's always an underlying tension between the 2 of them. The last fight was almost 2 years ago, so it's not a frequent occurrence but I think it would've been if I hadn't been more careful. Only you can tell whether they've still got the fight left in them. If you're concerned, just don't let them out together unsupervised until they seem relaxed in each others pressence again. My last 2 fosters were females and picked fights with my resident bitch so I understand the bitch thing but I'm not dealing with 2 entire bitches are you? If they're desexed then you shouldn't be experiencing the super serious bitch fight that people are referring too. If they've had tiffs before, I'd be looking at if I have relaxed the routine in the house and go back to super structure and routine. If at a complete loss, I'd call iin the professionals. Good luck.

Sorry, my feral kiwi language. I mean in the sense, if we don't fall apart emotionaly because there was a fight they can move past the situation alot faster than us freaking out and being stressy about it.
-
I personaly don't seperate them after unless it was a really serious fight that took some time to break up as it's usually only our emotions that keep fights going, dogs generally should be able to move past what just happened if we can get our shit together.
