My Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Keeps Eating Sticks
sas replied to Jason Cyr's topic in General Dog Discussion
Less dangerous than stones? I always gave sticks/branches to my pup to chew and he still chews them today if he needs something to chew (he can't have bones) and his teeth are fine also. -

Hoping everything goes well and sending healing vibes for the recovery. My boy is a shocker for eating things that aren't food and then having moments where he scares me, luckily to date he has been able to pass these things on his own even if it is 4 days later! Pls keep us updated.

Looks like Staph, my allergic dog gets it a bit, more in Summer. Best to see your Vet about it.

Desperate! Long Term Boarding Or Foster Care
sas replied to fiery_di's topic in General Dog Discussion
Remember, a lot of people work fulltime without access to the internet during business hours....you'll need to be patient. You have a few alternatives before the shelter, go and pop her in a kennel for now and until you've had a good think about it. I'm not sure a foster carer will be able to help you as you have stated the dog is being moved on as it's being involved in fights and many foster carers have other residents dogs and you have stated in the other thread that she is a yapper and a whinner. What Breed is Coco....you may also like to tell people more about her. -
Yard size isn't that relevant to me. My dogs only go in the yard to toilet so it's not needed for them. Dogs also do not self-exercise. If you have a dog that loves playing activities in the yard with you then you'll probably want to have a yard that's of a decent size for that.

It would depend how much it is, everyone's affordability and what they can borrow/sell is different.

If she's a guide dog puppy I'm pretty sure you need to follow their training methods?

So sorry, RIP. Another Angel you know.

My recent 15 month old foster dog humped her teddy when she got excited but not for long. I don't think it's anything to worry about as long as she's not doing it to other dogs and people.

Same Sex Aggression And Breed Predisposition
sas replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
Not so in entire bitches. If anything it is believed that female hormones present in entires can help to keep bitches less aggressive. Really? My experience has been the opposite, however that could be individual dogs as well. -
Pretty sure it was a Newfoundland

BB has his points to make. Some of them I think have been misunderstood. Some I agree with. Some I don't. But then I view many posts from different people in the same way. Everyone's entitled and I think the above is a bit nasty and that people are tending to gang and jump a bit too much and easily. Yes, he has many points to make, points don't equal correct, especially in another thread where he's telling someone with a fear aggressive dog not to worry about seeing a Behaviourist.

Kamuzz, Great Rugs: http://www.greatrugs.com.au do crate beds that have a canvas cover like the Snooza to protect them. I couldn't find them on their website, I think they're custom, most of the Dane people have them for their crates.
