My dog gets that. However those brown tiny spots then turn into actual pigmentation spots that stay forever.

Black Skin Disease CAN be genetic but it is not solely genetic, it has many variables and Black Skin Disease itself can look like 100 different skin complaints.

Vit E should cover you, you can also crack open a Vit E Capsual on the actual elbow or use Bio Oil for fast asorbtion. If there is any inflamation you'll need to treat differently.

I had read a lot of reports that dogs break their teeth on them regularily so decided not to risk it?

Let me know your address through PM and I'll send you one of my special rabbit fur tugs, haven't failed getting a dog to tug yet. Oooh how much would one of these tugs be and are they really that good? I have started agility with Millie, and she absolutely REFUSES to play tug with me. So I have to utilise the squeaky ball which is all she's crazy for, which isn't ideal because playing with her for reward involves her chasing the ball and running into paths of other dogs Well we haven't failed to get a dog to tug on one yet, see how Micha goes...you n ever know, might be our first fail The standard size which is about 60cm is $14.95 and the long ones for dogs to hang off are $20.00. I've just closed the shop for a little holiday but if you want to try one if Micha is successful I can sell you one.

Dogs Fighting Over Food *help*
sas replied to Tim.duncan's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Dogs should be able to eat in peace, feed them seperately....so they can't get to one another, different parts of the house etc. If you want them to eat together you could tether them so they can't get to each other. Many middle of the road dogs can eat quite happily around another dog they live with and some have stronger personalities and will try it on and then all hell breaks out. Why do you find it acceptable for the older dog to back down, the older dog should be able to eat in peace? The older dog should be able to tell the other dog to bugger off, perhaps it's your younger one that isn't listening to the older dogs warning and being a bully. When it comes to dogs I don't believe in setting them up for faliure. -
A dog doesn't have to be on concrete to develop them besides dogs choose to lay on hard surfaces....some dogs seem more prone to these than others. If they are inflammed you treat them one way, if it's just no hair just whack some Vit E on and massage in and give it a month.

I can take food off my dogs, I do recall when Dante was a teenager he growled at me when I went to move his pigs ears away, he got 'what for' for that behaviour and hasn't done it since. I think a lot of young dogs try it on and if they get away with it they continue with it as it works for them.

This kind of prompted my question in a way. Archie sleeps inside in his crate -- but I think he gets hot in it; a few times I he's barked to wake us up, I let him out thinking it was toilet, but he's panting and flops down on the deck outside. He's only done this once or twice coz most of the time I keep the air con on. He might be cooler if he can just sleep wherever he likes, but I don't want to leave him free to roam inside the house because he moves and walks around alot and schnuffles and licks his boy bits and that keeps us awake (we can't close our bedroom door, long story). There is no-where in the house we can shut a door and not hear him schnuffle. I think I might try him outside for a bit while it's still hot and put his crate out there so he's still got his 'security' bed if that's where he wants to sleep. I was thinking he can come sleep back inside when weather starts to cool down; just not sure if I'm giving him a 'confusing' message. Generally as they get a bid older and out of puppy stage they can settle down and sleep through the night, if we hear licking that wakes us up they get told to knock it off. I have had the same problem with my boy being too hot in his crate so he takes himself wherever he wants to sleep. I don't think there is any confusing message, the crate is a bed just like a bed outside the crate is, you're letting him choose which is cooler and therefore more comfortable.

Our dogs have inside/outside access but are generally inside so our rule is if it is going to be over 30 degrees that day we set the air con to kick in at 10:30am, we set it at 23 degrees as that is apprantly is a more suitable level for carbon emission. I have an old dog and a allergic dog who runs hot, both can not handle the heat, if I had dogs who could handle the heat it may be a different story.

Lexi is a motivated wee thing isn't she! She looks like a right star!

Head to the Vets for a diganosis, could be anything, might just be as a simple as a fungi.

By watching your videos, I'm suprised you don't have your CCD yet despite any itchies.

Once again, Dog Agressive does not equal Human Agressive. I find people tend to say this common phrase to try and get their point across...some sort of shock value, shame it's terribly uneducated. Can show a very sweet photo of my dog agro dog with a child cuddled up to him fast asleep.

If a dog attacks your dog then I believe you should use whatever force required to get that dog away from your dog, if a boot to the guts is what it takes then so be it.

I thought she did pretty well!

I'm in love with Dante He is all yours....he is commonly known as Spawn of Satan or Asshole dog!
-
Not in CCD. Once you're in novice, your dog has to. I think it's st00pid (not being able to in CCD), but thems the rules! mmm I'm going to need to work on that I think, I have enough problem with Dante predicting the return to heel as it is.
-
Thanks, I don't feel it though
-
So your dog can't return to heel?
-
I think anything is worth a try, they just shouldn't left on unsupervised.

My Vet said usually it takes about 6 months. We did it for over a year, unfortunately didnt work for us but I don't think 2 months is long enough to tell.

I just wand CCD! LOL Is that too much to ask!
