The Strangest Cross Breed You Have Ever Seen?

No no no. An elimination diet is only a short term diet, the dog will be fine for a short period. Elimination diet does not include supplements as you would have to test each of those as well. They are definitely NOT suitable for young growing dogs, even for the short term. A proper elimination diet should take at least 6 week, sometimes up to 12 weeks. A lot of people with adult dogs choose to keep going on the diet or a similar diet (if there is a food allergy) in which case supplements have to be added. If the dogs growth is going to come into concern such as a Giant Breed puppy then you would need to work alongside a Derm. What people decide to do with supplements doesn't make it right, supplements should not be added to an elimination diet unless a Derm has advised the person to do that.

No, not the right way and given your dog at 8 months still won't settle in the crate you're probably not the best person to take advice from. You may like to look into a DVD called Crate Games.

How about not giving him plenty of cuddles and applying NILIF so the dog doesn't get a whole heap of free attention that can actually start off/cemment aniexty type behaviours.

Just remember dogs do what is rewarding. Have a think about how you have responded to the whining, have you turned around to look at the dog, touched the dog, tried to soothe the dog?

So sorry....another Angel you know.

Rescue Dog Aggression Problems With Dogs
sas replied to breezy's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
The dog may very well had got on with dogs in the foster home, the dog may not have been taken out in public or had the opportunity to see other dogs outside the home. Sadly some foster carers have too many dogs to give individual attention including taking the dogs for walks. One person's interpretation of 'getting on well' may include a few scraps from time to time. I've had a foster that was submissive and perfectly dog social in my home, take him outside of the home and he was a different dog. -

I have my allergic dog on it. He's still allergic, there is no cure for allergies only management tools and food isn't going to make too much difference if that's not what the dogs issue is. I am however very happy with the kibble though.

LOL I'd say be thankful she's not screaming the place down. Some whimpering is really nothing to concern yourself about, it's all very natural when you consider this pup has been taken away from its litter and now you're wanting it to spend time by itself. Think about 'enrichment', what can you do to make outside fun? For example out pup goes down to a day pen when we're out and tug toys are threaded through the side panels, new items are chucken in there daily whether it be a box or a cardboard tube etc. etc. We don't start with such long blocks such as 2 hours, we build up to that. There is a seperation training program we use with success, you're more than welcome to it, if you're interested feel free to shoot me an e-mail and I can send it over: [email protected]

Horrendous. Please report this, regardless of how upset the lady was - this could have ended very very badly. -
Congrats to all the winners!

I really don't reccomend you take your dog to off lead areas if you're not confident in them, you're trying to build your confidence not shatter it.

I'm not sure if they have a concept of time or hear the vehicle from a distance away.

I know a number of entire bitches that have gone each other and one that killed another. 'Entire' is where the problems stem from.
-
I re-home desexed females to homes with desexed females with no problems. Entire bitches is your problem (and not with all of them of managed well)....you need to understand the reason for the agro to start with

You must have a huge dog if you think it can swallow an entire pine cone?

Sounds like a bit of a freak accident.

My pups have always loved them, they are allowed them under supervision.
