  1. and I am so angry how dare you tell or suggest that a dying person ( cancer) or a person living with such a shocking disease as Aids has a cure which is a cover up. I shake my head at charlaton behaviour and seriously hope that we do not have any people suffering from such a disease reading the forum. Charlatan is a pejorative word which accuses a person of the practice of quackery or some similar confidence trick in order to obtain money by false pretenses. The word comes from French charlatan, and ultimately from either the Italian ciarlare, to prattle; or from Cerretano, a resident of Cerreto, a town that was apparently notorious for producing quacks. In usage, a subtle difference is drawn between the charlatan and other kinds of confidence people. The charlatan is usually a salesperson. He does not try to create a personal relationship with his marks, or set up an elaborate hoax using roleplaying. Rather, the person called a charlatan is being accused of resorting to quackery, pseudoscience, or some knowingly employed bogus means of impressing people in order to swindle his victims by selling them worthless nostrums and similar goods or services that will not deliver on the promises made for them. The word calls forth the image of an old time medicine show operator, who has long left town by the time the people who bought his snake oil tonic realize that it does not perform as advertised.
  2. not true you only have to look at the generic products on the market, go on look.... you claim to have a cure for HIV AIDS are you now saying you have a prevention? Certainly this year clinical trials into a vaccine are going to go ahead, the future vaccine has been researched since 1993. Pharmaceutical companies make drugs and fund research . I know they would be interested in your cure, write to them. generic products Aids cures
  3. can you explain the serious limitations to me? if you have a cure for HIV AIDS believe me it is a miracle. Who actually has this knowledge? Why do the people who have the HIV AIDS cure not shout it from the rooftops like they did with developed vaccines and antibiotics? Can you give me an example of alternative medicine that might be prescribed for a myocardial infarction or any cardial ischaemia? Or even for thrombosis, diabetes, eplilepsy? heck what about vaccines for smallpox, diptheria, typhiod, yellow fever, polio? Do you do vaccines or do you limit yourself to cures for AIDS? I actually have no problem with simple home based treatments, I have used them all my life. I never take for granted or poo poo the amazing work carried out by dedicated scientists who continue the fight against disease. People died in the dark ages from illness and disease which we now pay no attention to. Doctors used what they had to try and save a life even in the early 40's only sulphur was widely available to fight infection, people died, limbs were lost. The discovery and post clinical trialing of penicillin was one of the greatest breakthroughs in medical history. Jenny I am sorry that is absolute rubbish tell me what they can lose? If they find this miracle cure they would earn trillions of dollars, there is no advantage in 'stopping information' All drug companies which support clinical trials are racing to find cures every day, not just for AIDS, for all the disease which limits lifestyle and comfort.
  4. ah I see no clinical trials at all, right, ok. Just the miracle aids cure... rightyho...
  5. I am interested in this what do you use? I too would like to see the clinical trials and evidence for the HIV cure. What is used?

    Tara

Tara a special girl who was abandoned left for death row and rescued. We all only knew her a few months but in that time she wove a special place in my heart. Tara loved to be in the sun and I would put insect repellant on my hands and rub on her body, just a bit, just enough to keep the flies from bothering her. When she had her run free a special mat was always put down for her to lie on. We thought you had a bit of arthritis, I promised you a bath after you saw the vet. The vet today sent her to sleep with the shelter vet nurse cradling her, malignant tumours, lots of them, not arthritis. run free sweet Tara, you are so loved and so missed. So many tears have been shed for you today, goodnight my "little Lizzard"
  11. Don't know what happened either to dampen your spirits YB but I had a mate this week ready to throw in the towel. I will say to you what I said to her. Do not ever stop doing what you love and your dogs love because of people who are in your life as human mosquitoes. Flick them off, stick your aeroguard on and get out there and show us all how beautiful your dogs are.
  12. you tired as hard as you could love RIP 'Henry' ;) I will rember you too for the fight that Kate and yappy made to try to give you a better life
  13. She might, but I'm inclined to doubt it. I'm perfectly happy to be proven wrong though, if Powderpuff wants to come back and detail her knowledge and experiences of training with the e-collar? Unless she does, I guess there's really no point debating what she says. :p you are right, there isn't I think we have a powderpuff and a powder puff, one has been reading and posting for a while, the other is a new rego. I researched ;) ok pp is gone ;)
  14. maybe PP has been reading the forum for a while, or yes could be the other I agree. I feel he/she could have been 'spoken to' nicer with a first post. I disagree that it was definitely an 'uninformed off topic rant' PP may well be full bottle on the laws and functions of Electric collar. I actually disagree that anyone needs to read a thread before presenting an opinion or experience. Sometimes the opinion of others is irrelevant because your own is passionate. If I have never expressed an opinion on particular issues which are passionate to me I make mine, then I read what others have written. Threads get hijacked on a daily basis, it is the art of natural conversation.
  15. Powder puff has every right to state his/her opinion about E collars. Yes it has been debated long and hard. So what? PP can say what is on her mind. Valid points, maybe as you can see PP is a new member you could have given a thread for a link. I will find one and pm when I do, meantime well said powder puff, speak up speak your mind, you will find everyone else does. ok found one you can all read if you like electric collar thread
  16. I know a lady who fed her dog a vegie diet, I expressed concerns but they had a vet diet for the dog. Little dog was forever nosing round in peoples rubbish and one day I saw him marching up the road with a raw chicken carcass in his mouth. I never found out where the chicken came from, wasn't my place Anyway dog was a fine healthy little man.
  17. Pete if it is used correctly and both you and the dog are happy is your business no one elses. For an obedience trial the dog may not wear a head collar, I think maybe the trainer was getting hung up on trial rather than understanding that most people just want a nice walk with their dog. I did use a halti on Rusky, she is a mal and thought we were doing the Alaskan dog race each time we went walking Interestingly at training or in a training situation she didn't pull, I worked it out eventually Rusky is 8 now and hasn't worn a head collar in many years, she doesn't pull. Herr Rotty that is so ruddy shocking about the poor dog and collar, $1000 fine isn't enough but is a start. People put them on as puppies and just never bother to take them off, idiots. I saw one the other day, a re run of the APS New York on fox. Dog with neck injury but was clean not like when the collar has rubbed raw, seems the collar had embeded in the neck and the owner took a box cutter and cut it out.... He went to prison... The beautiful huge shaggy dog recovered.
  18. No sorry herr rotty I haven't found them, they were a group of abuse pics I had you know with embedded collars, starved dogs, chain collar rubbed the skin off. Some collar injuries were horrific but not caused by training particularly I don't think, just neglect and abuse. One dog had this huge hole where the flat collar clip had penetrated the skin, yuk awful. All collars need checking regularly, I have honestly never seen a head collar injury pic before however now they sell them in any dollar and dime store it will probably be something seen more often.
  19. work on your sit to drop, drop to sit close up and in front of you make sure you have that perfected before trying with a recall, keep it fun.
  20. how interesting that this has just come up, I was just thinking about it. A guy said to me I want my dog to heel. I said first it needs to walk on a loose lead without pulling, he said he didn't want to learn that You can teach heel without a lead, some people do, they find the position is easier to find off lead then to attach the lead and teach heel on lead.
  21. yep that was the point I was making that they won't all end up with a broken neck, keep trying??? wot are you on? can anyone at all tell me how why or what the ruddy trainer was doing while the dog was on the end of a long leash wearing a halter??? Throwing a ball?? blimey poor dog, yep 6 months would be about right for a hairline fracture ruddy shocking. Usually spinal fractures are unstable, very very lucky dog.
  22. Hi Erny I will see if I can find them but you must have seen those pics yourself over the years? I had never seen a halter one before as I couldn't imagine or believe a person leaving them on. Still people are twits. I don't think the halter injury HR described was a fracture, crating wouldn't stabilise a broken neck. The force used would have been immense to break the dogs neck which is why I sort of assumed it was an abuse case, I missunderstood completely. I think the info HR got was not quite correct. Thing is doesn't matter if halter/chain/flat collars people still yank their dogs heads around. Is the people that are the problem not the collar.
  23. yes I had some chain collar injury photos somewhere, also some of 'too tight' collars not removed, is ruddy terrible. The halti face injury looks like they put it on and left it on, rotters poor dog. So how did the vet stabilise the fracture? do you know, gee is hard with a human am wondering how it works with a dog. I am guessing they put the dog in some sort of straight jacket. Was the owner prosecuted? I can't imagine how much force would be used to cause a fracture I am shuddering at the thought of it. Poor poor dog.
  24. Herr Rotty a vertebral fracture of the neck is a broken neck so if the guy fractured the neck vertebra he broke the dogs neck. If the dog wasn't paralysed he was very very lucky.
