  1. Maybe a bacterial infection also, my girl had this except it was brown flaky not white like normal dandruff. Maybe try a wash only in affected areas with malesab medicated wash. Also what's the dogs diet? I changed my girl off kibble and her skins soooooo much better now, she's now on raw diet only.
  2. Thanks BC think I have it out now. And yes poor little bugger looks so damn sore had to happen when I wasn't home too but at least she didn't swell.
  3. Yeah I don't stand a chance with the credit card thing, I was hoping for maybe a creame of wash that might draw it out. I'm not sure if it's bee or wasp to be honest it sort of looks like its a couple of stings either that or she's just rubbed it heaps. Also the hair hasn't fallen out she's scratched it so much the hairs come off. I'll slip her another couple of phernergan tonight.
  4. Does anyone know what I could put on Abbeys face where she has been bitten by a bee to draw out the sting? I'm pretty sure I can see there's still a sting in it but can't get anywhere near it to get it out myself, is there anything I could apply to it? I had put Neocort on it over the past 24 hours but now she's scratched more hair off the area I'm sure I can still see the sting (when she stands still for all of one second)
  5. Maybe try posting in the market place... i had advertised a bag of BH on there when i was trying to get rid of it also, i had no takers though had to donate it
  6. My girls into picking the sugar snap peas from the vege patch at the moment haha She loves strawberries and watermelon too
  7. I'm another who had their pup on black hawk and ended up with a pup who scratched and bit her coat terribly, I can say its taken months to get her back to "normal" I wish I never went near the stuff. I think you will find that the itching and scratching will only get worse and worse while your dogs on the black hawk. I'd remove the black hawk entirrwly and go to raw diet plus omega blend oil. It can take up to and over 6-8 weeks for the kibble to get in and out of their systems,.
  8. I saw these at PetExpo i think Red Dingo are doing them, i also wondered about people that havent embraced the smart phone technology that it would be pointless, personally i dont see whats wrong with a name and number on a tag. I also dont leave collars on mine so it would be useless to me...
  9. Decided to increase to 175g increased meat decreased vegetables so I'll just see how she goes off this batch, can't say that she's looking to skinny, more so spot on the mark. Brought some turkey wings so she can have one of those with dinner every couple of nights too and she can keep having the lamb flaps and chicken frames as well. Minimax - I just use food processor get them chopped up to very fine pulp. I add rice just to make her feel fuller.
  10. Thanks I'll check that tread out, I have to make more raw pattys today that's why I thought I'd ask, I think I might up them to 200g in the warmer weather while we are doing so much, it's probably a 50% meat 10% rice 40% vege mix that Ive been doing, and she looks and feels SOOOOOOO much better since removing kibble but she's just hungrier I guess kibble must sit in their gut longer or something. Her coast is finally coming up a real treat on this raw diet thank god, she's so lovely black and shinny and all her spots she awas having trouble with on her skin are repairing. Do you guys do any supplements? I've been giving Abbey as recommended by a Sydney vet probiotic, vitamins E and Zinc, plus she gets 1tsp flax seed oil. I also heard coconut oil is good for dogs that have had skin problems. Does anyone feed turkey wings? I saw them in the supermarket yesterday and thought they might be good to go with her night raw patty.
  11. For those that feed raw especially homemade raw I have a couple of questions: 1. How do you determine how much to feed? I thought there was a grams per dog weight or something but I can't seem to find it.Eg. Abbey gets one 150g raw patty morning and night but still seems very hungry, I am wondering if it should be 200g ( she's a 30kg lab 12 months, very active) she's gets chicken frames a couple of times a week and I've been trying to give lamb off cuts but they every now and then do still seem a bi fatty for her. 2. What do you put in your raw pattys? I've been doing spinach, sweet potato, cabbage, pumpkin, carrots, brown rice, cheese and a meet either chicken turkey or beef. I am wondering about adding maybe some green apple too, anything else... ( she won't eat organ meat)
  12. I guess it's when everything else goes out of the stomach ..and the odd bits rattle around until they trigger a cleanout ? (that's the scientific explanation :p :p ) Spot on there hehe
  13. Oh the cartliage spew is great isnt it, then its like okay all better now im hungry  I give Abbey a biscuit before bed usually around 9:30 very rarely do i get the hungry chucks with her now.
  14. Sounds like whichever dog it was only brought up bile, which would suggest it was empty and hungry. My girl does that if she didnt have enough dinner.
  15. Abbey likes the dried chicken necks in that range cause the nice and crunchy, i wouldnt give her a raw chicken neck as she would just swallow it, but these she will chomp chomp chomp oh and she only gets like 1 or 2 a week. She gets raw chicken frames and beef bones too though.
  16. Love Zig what a poser :) He has such a nice face Id love a staffy in zigs colours
  17. Morning and night here, both my last lab and current if not fed at night would throw up bile from hunger by time morning came round if they wernt feed enough at night.
  18. How you say poppy gets the runs from raw chicken, when I had my lab pup on puppy kibble and I gave chicken frames she would get the runs too, now since removing kibble completely she is fine on chicken frames, red meat and lamb flaps which all would have previously gave her the runs. She's is now on 100% raw diet.
  19. I've switched my girl over to RAW 4 weeks ago and I'm seeing a huge improvement too, her skin allergies are lessening, her coat whre shes damaged it from itching and biting is coming back and she has so much more energy. I do homemade RAW she gets 150g patty morning and night ( may have to increase to 200g next time I make them), she gets flax seed oil, vitamins E and zinc plus pro biotic. Looking at VANS skin and coat supplement once my current stock runs out. She can also now tolerate lamb which she couldn't when on kibble, so she gets lamb flaps and chicken frames as a treat if she's done a lot that day. She was on pro plan and tried black hawk which is where her problems started. Haven't tried the VANS skin and coat but was thinking of giving it a go. Weird thing is I was feeding her identical food as her breeder was (she's only been with us since july 27th) so maybe it's the heat/humidity up here that makes it worse for her so an allergy she didn't have previously, comes out and plays havoc with her poor belly and sides. Yeah i know what you mean my breeder said only kibble and 2 x 4" biscuits thats all they need, but all of a sudden its like her body just went NO and i had problems. RAW is definitely winning our problems.

  21. Nawww that ones georgous, how did you get the santa hat to stay on? I dont like my chances with my lab she would get it off her head and run off with it
  22. My girl just wants a constant stream of frozen kongs I keep getting empty ones thrown at me
  23. Crikey! My big dog gives daddy a 'kiss' on command, when he's in the mood. I was trying to be sensitive because some people are completely grossed out by any kind of licking. btw I think my Lab might be a compulsive licker. I have just realised that she licks way more than any other dog I have ever owned. Same her Labradork, my black lab is a real kisser as well.
