I agree with tlc, might just feel strange for him. There are heaps of bindi's out now so the fur between the paws may of been protecting them.

How Did Everyone Fall In Love Their Pooch?
Alibi replied to huskies4life88's topic in General Dog Discussion
Mine started out as my sisters dog. A year after she got her my sister decided to go to the UK for 3yrs, so i said i would look after her till she got back. In the meantime i started her in agility and she fast became my shadow, so by the time sis got back she decided not to have her back as she was so attached to me and it meant she could move into a unit with her boyfriend. She is the best little dog and im so glad she became mine. -
I used to do agility with my pomX, she was awesome with it and it really bought her out of her shell. Unfortunalty we had to stop due to health issues.

Agility After Cruciate Surgery
Alibi replied to Kiara&Heidi's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Often times if they do one cruciate they end up doing the other too. Definatly agree with Agility Dogs with weighing up options and talking to the vet/specialist first and if possible talking to a dog phyiso. -
I use an electric toothbrush, just a oral B human one, my pom just lies on my lap every night while i brush her teeth. She also gets greenies but i dont really think they do all that much.
-
My little pom gets told off by other animals instead she does the submissive roll showing her belly to my friends cat when the cat hisses at her, the cat does not really get it though lol.

What Would Be The "right" Thing To Do?
Alibi replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Its stuiped to expect there be fights and no one is at fault. You shouldnt have to expect your dog will be attacked and the dog that attacked a dog who was trying to get away to not be at fault. I hate dog parks and would never go near one, i dont trust other people with their dogs, especially as an owner of a toy breed, and luckly my dog has limited intrest in other dogs anyway. -
What Would Be The "right" Thing To Do?
Alibi replied to lovemesideways's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thats the stuipest thing i have ever read. -
I took alittle while to bond to my dog when she was a puppy, i think i get a bit over whelmed with "what the hell have i done" kind of thing and stress abit. My sister was the same when she got her puppy, but it goes and now i love my dog to bits and we have a very strong connection, just took awhile to foster.

My little girl sleeps on my bed but i bought her a lovely sheep skin from a skin shop to lie on to keep extra warm, she also has steps from deals direct but is yet to use them as she just waits for me to lift her up

If you gave him comfortis and advantage you could bath if you really wanted too as you dont really need both products, washing the advantage off you still have the comfortis. Personally i would bath (im a clean freak), i wouldnt worry about bombing as the comfortis works super fast anyway and would have knocked the buggers that were on him down about 30min after giving the tablet.

I was a Vet Nurse for 8yrs before i relised i couldnt live on the love of the job alone (i will never understand why the pay is so low). I am now an Animal Technician, the job is not as rewarding but the pay is much better.

I think alot of people need to see it from the other side of the coin, and experience what really happens rather what an emotional story tells you. No animals are used before everything is approved by an ethics commitity, and everything done has to abide by the eithics outlined. It is not done by "oh we have 20 dogs at the pound this week we can have, lets take them all". Numbers are strict, no animal is ever needlessly used. The people who care for the dogs treat them with much respect and love. Human doctors also practice on sheep and pigs, should this stop also? They also used to practice on dogs but things are moving more towards sheep and pigs now.

Never use a tick collar and proban together as they are both organophosphates.
-
I would go with Frontline with a Kiltix tick collar. Im not a fan of Proban as i dont like the idea of giving my dog an organophosphate pecticide orally. Edit to add,I live in a high tick area in Brisbane and i only use frontline which is great with ticks.

K9 Natural Freeze Dried Dog Food
Alibi replied to heroeswit's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have used both, the K9 does not really rehydrate at all and the dog didnt really like it that much so i have moved onto the VAN which she likes. They are both good foods, the VAN is grainy but not all of it is meant to be digested (for fibre). I dont really think you could go wrong with either, i just went with what she found was more tasty. -
I have seen this happen before. Waiting for fish and chips and a 4wd parked with a cattle dog on the front seat, the guy who owned it was sitting outside the car waiting for his order. The dog in the car saw a lady walking her dog across the 4 lane busy road, dog in car went nuts and managed to jump out and across the four lanes without getting hit and started attacking ladys dog, the guy ignored it!! He tried to pretend like it wasnt his dog untill i started yelling at him to go grap his f@#$king dog (i was shook up at it all). He went across and got it and i couldnt resisted yelling what the hell was he doing ignoring his dog attacking another dog, he totally ignored me and when i left he did the finger behind my back. I think i would have reacted the same way you did.

My old silky had a tick above her eye which i found after she rubbed it and yelped, i thought it was her leg/paw that was sore untill she did it again with the same response and i checked her face and found the paralysis tick, so it was painful for her. My pom is also not her self at the moment due to running through the bush down the back the other day and picking up a few of the buggers, the frontline had killed the ones i found but even due to that short amount of time she is not herself

The amenities block was just the usuall camping ground type, except having a shower by torch light with a giant spider watching was fun (really really not a fan of spiders lol). Really loved the spot, would love to go back one day.
-
Yep one dog loved the creek, from memory it was more of a creek then a river so i dont know how good the fishing would be. Having Labs im guessing you will be spending alot of time at the creek haha.
-
We have been there twice with the dogs a few years ago and loved it! There were cattle coming through the grounds daily so be aware of that, but they would move on away after abit. There were lots of spiders, big spiders! When going to the toilet block at night shinning the torch over the ground, the ground would reflect with their eyes. The cabins there at night were over run with massive monster ones, im really not a spider fan. Definatley if your dogs are crate trained take a crate, i found it great as i could put them in there crate which they feel very comfortable in when we went on a quick visit to the national park next door. Take fresh water for them too as when we were there the water had to be boiled before use. Have fun, it was a great spot to camp and the dogs loved it!

It would also depend on how small a dog you want, i have a pomX and CKCS look huge to me but they are still a small breed. I like the Japanese Chin too.
