  1. I used one for rogue and worked perfectly ..
  2. Ouch , bit more than mouthing if the dog broke the skin .. I was visiting a friend and her dog last weekend in lismore and her dog was very mouthy to the point it was annoying and it hurt . I thought later that if he did that too a child the owner ( my friend ) could well be in trouble .. All comes down to training .. Anyway I hope the neighbours don't take it further and your friend needs to teach their dog not to mouth , 2yrs is way to old to be doing that . Hope others have advice but I think it's a wait and see game , I would also get a trainer out and let the neighbours know that I am addressing the problem :-)
  3. So sorry for your loss but what a peaceful beautiful way to go . Run free beautiful ..
  4. I have this problem and it's so frustrating . They yell it's ok he is a baby .. Yeah ok but mine is not ok with yours off leash running upto her :-( OP I'm so sorry this happend to you , very scary and sad ... Once they walk away after this type of incident, it's extremely difficult to get a conviction as all they have to do if they are interviewed as a suspect is say they know nothing of the incident and at the time have an alibi they were somewhere else. Once a report of this nature is filed, the filing of it is about as far as it goes. In have had several dog aggressive dogs and it's a real problem when exercising DA dogs on leash in on leash areas for other dogs to be off leash illegally and approach/rush at your DA dog, the worse scenario to light up a DA dog is getting rushed at regardless if the dog is friendly or not. DA dogs are easily managed providing others abide by the relevant laws and don't exercise them off leash unless they are confined to a designated off leash area. I can't believe how people for their own dog's safety allow them to be exercised off leash in area's where they should be on leash and approach other leashed dogs. Although your DA dog is leashed, if the other dog doesn't heed the warning and back off or it wants to fight too, it results in a horrifying situation for the handler of the leashed dog to resolve the conflict. I disagree that a DA dog should be muzzled to protect the dogs of owners who exercise them illegally without effective control.
  5. This is just sickening :-( I am lost for words ......
  6. Doesn't bother me , there are more important things in my life to get annoyed about than what other people call their animals, as long as they don't call mine unflattering names I really don't mind.. I love my guys as much as my children but treat them very differently..
  7. I met a lady at agility who debarked a couple of rescues and they sounded raspy when they barked .. I've read it's a pretty gruesome surgery but I've never seen it done.. I would try a barking collar it's a lot cheaper and I think exercise / boredom is probably a factor also .. Good luck .
  8. I would yell for the owner at the dog park to remove their dog .. I prob would have kicked it away lol ..
  9. Yes I was thinking the same thing .. We don't go to dog parks and she always on lead but that's good to know as I have a SIL that's always hounding to bring over her little spoodle thing and I've always said no , I think it's best I keep saying no ,, I'd say she's redirecting her frustration at the dogs being there coupled with not being able to get to them onto her teddy. Dogs frequently shake and "kill" their toys in play without it ever translating into aggression towards other dogs so that could just be what she does with Teddy and doesn't have any other way of using him to get out her frustration, however I'd say there's a strong possibility that if she got into that state and was then able to get to a dog small enough to grab she would do the same thing.
  10. Just a question sorry OP for butting in . My girl is aggressive on lead , she goes off when people with offlead dogs walk close to our back fence . She loves sucking her teddy and if she has it in her mouth when a dog comes close to our fence she will shake it madly . She has a high prey drive . So is she shaking the teddy cause she wants to kill the dog that's off lead ? She normally doesn't display aggressive behavior off lead she barks but nothing like on lead . Just curious ..
  11. I'm a little lost . If you booked them in and agreed on a price then don't they have to make good on the price ? Isn't there consumer protection for that ?
  12. I take my girl on walks when I know we won't come across dogs or if so I am able to get out of the way as she is on lead aggressive and it's just easier for both of us , also the person or dog coming the other way isn't freaked out thinking I'm a bad owner with an aggressive dog .. I don't go to dog perks she doesn't enjoy other dogs getting in her space , I want our walk, play time to be fun and she is the most sweetest girl just not on lead around others :-) I wouldn't be allowing other dogs to get that close to your dog even walking my male if another dog comes our way I'm already in a position that if their dog lunges mine won't get hurt .. Not sure if that's right but that's what I do . Good luck :-)
  13. Ugh I'm so over vets and their anti raw ! Do you have a holistic vet in your area ? If you do I would check them out :-) Raw meaty bones are fabulous for teeth cleaning, chicken wings , necks , roo tails , brisket bones :-) I break the chicken wing to make it long and would hold it for my pup , chicken necks I used to freeze as it takes longer to eat and good for teething . Never leave them alone with bones in case something happens . It's normal for them to regurgitate so don't be scared if they do this .. Read up on raw , join a raw feeding group :-) Have fun :-)
  14. Considering it a place for animals you would think it would be fine for them to be on a seat . At our original vet they had couches , you would always find a dog sitting beside their owner patiently waiting to see the vet. At my new vet they have small hard chairs , not really that inviting for humans let alone dogs lol.
  15. We constantly have people pic up there little dogs of they see us approach or they turn around once they see us and almost run away .. I don't blame them actually , if I had a little fluff ball I would be a little apprehensive about a large dog coming toward me . I got told by this old man once when rogue was 6mths old that he was aggressive and were bred to hunt and bring down lions . I laughed and said he is only a baby , idiot.. It urkes me a bit people who say oh my dog is friendly , he won't hurt yours, on 2 separate occasions when rogue was little we were out walking and I was stopped and the person had a large dog and the other a small dog both said it's ok they are friendly and both snapped at rogue .. I take it on board that most owners have no clue what their dog is like . I know Saachi would snap if a dog got too close , and I know rogue wouldn't care less I'm not sure why other owners have no clue..
  16. Gosh are you able to move ? How sad to have to sell your pup because of these people, I couldn't imagine doing that :-( very sad . Take care :-)
