Another Owner Faces Charges Warning Graphic Image
*kirty* replied to redangel's topic in Dog Cruelty and Abuse News
Sometimes they suffer organ failure after being starved. That is probably why it was PTS. -
I can't believe the negativity! How about the fact that the LDH - the richest 'shelter' in the country - was given $20,000?! That is the biggest scandal in my view! The Rabbit Runaway Orphanage takes rabbits from pretty much every pound and shelter in Victoria. They do a fantastic job with! Many non-routine surgeries would be performed at the rabbit specialist clinic, which is very expensive.
-
What's wrong with that? These rabbits are all desexed - they have nothing to do with wild rabbits! That's like saying that cat shelters shouldn't get grants either because feral cats are a pest. Who cares how much they spend on vet bills? They do a great job! Rabbits are beautiful pets when kept appropriately - why should one pet's life be valued less than another?!

I have sent you a pm.

Have you tried calendula tea?

Fibrocartilaginous Embolism (fce)

Do the MRI and then make a decision. Or at least do xrays. Guessing won't help anyone. -
My gorgeous boy, words don't seem enough. For almost 9 years you were there for me - from a cheeky, chubby kitten to a handsome boofy boy. You were my first British, and the sweetest, most gentle boy there ever was. I'm so sorry I couldn't fix you, please know I tried my best. I miss you so much it hurts. Love you forever Brickhead xxxx

I don't think they're idiots. They obviously love their dog very much. Many owners would not keep a dog like that! Yes they perhaps should not have left him inside unattended, but surely its better than locking him outside 24/7? Sounds like he gets bored easily and has some interesting ways to entertain himself. As for poor dog - why? Looks to be that he has a pretty cruisy life. I think you guys are being very harsh. My GSP x is a destructo dog too and even at almost 12yo he still likes to destroy stuff.

I have five - four med/large dogs and one small. I prefer having 3-4 though. :)

We had a 15wo AmStaff puppy brought into work once who wanted to take your face off. He was incredibly aggressive and had to be muzzled so the vet could look at him. He tried to attack the owner as well. This pup had been sold to a family with young kids. I have never seen a young pup behave like that before and it was very disturbing.

Woohoo! Great news!

I'm sorry to hear this.

Weird Stuff Your Dog Is Frightened Of
*kirty* replied to apocalypsepwnie's topic in General Dog Discussion
My mum's Dalmatian went through a phase where she was scared of the oven. Every night she would start shaking and drooling and pacing etc. Mum thought she had something seriously wrong with her but several vet checks showed nothing. Finally she made the connection that the behaviour started when she turned the oven on... It lasted several months then she got over it. She is an odd dog. -
Goodbye sweet Kibah. Thinking of you Linda xx
-
I'm so sorry Kirislin. She was such a beautiful little girl and I know you will miss her dearly. RIP Kibah
-
Poor little Kibbah, I'm so sorry to read this. She is lucky to have an owner as devoted as you - you will nurse her if needed, and let her go if needed. Gentle pats for the gorgeous girl.

That cone looks huge!! Can you make it any tighter? And maybe trim it a bit?
-
Don't pander to his sulking lol! After 24hrs he will be fine with the cone. :) We recommend keeping it on 24/7. Generally the wound will have 'taken' within a few days, but the stitches could still cause irritation. Perhaps after a few days, try taking it off and see what he does.

Concerns Rspca Is Destroying Pets That Could Be Kept Alive

What a pack of lying fools. -
Poor lady. I wonder what will happen to her cats?
-
Why do zoos allow their animals to breed if the offspring are not wanted? There are plenty of non-surgical options available to prevent breeding - there is just no excuse.
-
He may be quoting a specialist price. These large, saggy faced dogs are more likely to have a recurrence so many local vets don't like to do them. Perhaps his vet referred him? Still shouldn't be $1000 per eye though.

You may find she is just shy. Jolie used to be very outgoing, but as she matured she has become much more stand offish. If people give her space, she will come up to them and eventually let them pat her. If they go straight for the pat, she won't have a bar of them. Once she has met someone once or twice, she is their best friend. :)

Raineth, your girl has prominent third eyelids. Sometimes this can be due to irritation or illness, but sometimes it can just be due to the shape and structure of the eye (like with your girl).
