That only applies if your timing with the correction is right. Dog may associate the correction with the stimulus that is making it pull in the first place, not necessarily the pulling.

I'm very sorry to read that Sinna has now left you, Griff.

Damn I was saddened and very sorry to read that Xander is no longer with you, Kaz. I feel quite privileged to have met him, he was truly a gentle giant, and I'm sure that all who knew him will share the pain of your loss.

Sitting here looking at a blank screen has given me no inspiration whatsoever. I wish that I could say something that will make you feel better, Daisy, but I can't. I'm so sorry and I know exactly what you are feeling.

Re: Training And The Law In Vic

Wouldn't this depend on the definition of 'attached'? To me 'attached' and 'holding' (as you would with a tug) are two completely different things -
So sorry, TB. Our furry companions leave a huge hole in our lives when their time is up. About the only time I have shed tears during my life has been when I have lost a dog, or heard about some one else losing a dog. Tell your Dad that it is OK to cry, for he is not alone.

I will never fully comprehend why bad things happen to good people This is really so, so sad. Good bye Angus. Thank you for coming to visit and playing with the spotted ones. You were one of the real characters on DOL and you will be forever missed.

May the many happy memories you have of Button help overcome your sadness, as you reminisce over all of the good times you had together.

NILIF = Nothing In Life Is Free. It simply means that your dog has to earn every reward from you, even the simplest rewards (ie a pat, normal feeding etc).

Dogs are carnivores. Their teeth are designed for grabbing and holding, ribbing and tearing. They do not have flat molars which are designed for chewing vegetation. Dogs can occasionally browse on vegetable matter or gain nutrients from the stomach contents and/or flesh of other herbivores and omnivores that do eat vegetation.

I have Ellie on Propalin and I find that it doesn't always work :D I apply it (on her food) twice a day and she is on the maximum dose for her size. When it works it works well, no leaks whatsoever. But when it doesn't work, there is gallons of leakage. There seems to be no in between and no reason for the inconsistency. We have experimented with different doses at different times of the day and find that half doses twice a day is the most effective and I am just putting up with the times the Propalin doesn't work (maybe 10% of the time) 'Tis frustrating, though :D

In Memory Of Bundy - The Most Amazing Girl You Could Ever Meet
horus replied to Winterpaws's topic in Rainbow Bridge
The older rescues always seem to leave a special memory with those that take them in. So sorry for your loss, seems that Bundy left a memory with all that knew her. -
What a perfect tribute to such a great friend. Joy, laughter amd memories are the essence of such friends.

I am sincerely sorry to read of your loss, CC. Another DOL favourite has left us far too soon.

Supercoat Special Care Sensitive
horus replied to InspectorRex's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I use SuperCoat Sensitive for my Dals. I use it along with as much raw food as possible. I have just bought a bag of Super Coat Senior and my dogs now have soft stools so it will be back to the Sensitive next time. My Dals get skin allergies and the Supercoat Sensitive certainly seemed to clear that up, they are again scratching after not quite a week on the other Supercoat (could be from the grass as well). Hope that helps :p -
My condolences, Paula. (Angus doesn't look the slightest bit embaressed in those photos. In fact, it looks like he was enjoying himself )
