Done! Let us know how you go! Fingers crossed!
-
Good on you for having the gall to do so, that takes a bit! :)
-
She sounds fab! I'd love to meet friends like that! Haha.

Well not everyone has a conventional family, which was more common in the past I guess. And I think it's not just the mother who's busy, the whole family takes on a lot more. I don't disagree, but it's not always easy I guess.

K9 Noseworks Seminar & Workshop Melbourne
Steph M replied to Staff'n'Toller's topic in General Dog Discussion
How exciting, a bit of 'spot the DOLer' too! -
Gus has been on guard duty out the back as the maggies keep sampling from the bone he can't drag inside. He's quite annoyed at them!
-
If it's not a first offender I imagine he better be careful he's not taking someones animals. Are the owners decent enough to swing by and warn them? I'd be most unhappy to hear if my critters were knocking off poultry.

A Follow On Thread For Those Who Now Have Their Puppy
Steph M replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Puppy Chat
Pal is ick, I don't blame you! Haha. If you've been feeding her Eagle Pack for a few weeks surely that transitional period is past, unless it's a recent change? That might explain it. -

What food is she on? No change or anything? Might be worth mixing in some egg/ricotta/sardines/chicken? Perhaps ask the breeder if she's right to have all these things though! -
As previously said, not all dogs have the foot shape to wear them down themselves, I know of a dog who walks almost on his heels and consequently doesn't wear them down. What about puppies who shouldn't be walked on concrete for long? Older dogs who might be arthritic? Silly thing to say, tbh. It's hardly negligence to look after dogs nails. And I sure hope yours don't have dew claws, cause hate to break it to ya, but the concrete won't do squat for those. ETA sorry if this is sarcasm, can't quite tell at the moment! I'm hoping so! :D

Part of my reservations about getting him a sandpit are just that, though might save me burying chicken wings etc... I kid, really.
-
I feel that pain....we call it 'cat candy' here and Gus will snuffle around the yard for half an hour to just find one...
-
Either way if they're the same size, both on the same page play wise it might just do Banjo good to have some fun with another dog and realise they're not all bad!

Yeah, we have heaps of bones. Was looking for something a bit longer lasting and that can be inside ideally. Not much of a fan of spitty bones on the rug, haha. Bought an antler, should be here tomorrow but any other suggestions welcome!

New Uk Laws Prosecting Dog Owners If They Scare Children
Steph M replied to Her Majesty Dogmad's topic in In The News
I know for sure if a little kid jumped our fence and picked up a toy, whether his or Gus's, he would probably get licked to bits. However, Gus is getting big at about 13kg and could easily knock a kid over. I would hope it never happened, but the idea of him being declared dangerous for a goofy puppy game in his own yard is a bit frightening. We're working on not jumping on people, but if no one is home all bets might be off. He loves kids. And yeah, as a kid I jumped a fence and got bitten on the ankle by a heeler, I knew it was my fault, mum didn't like the dog and worried because the owners had little kids of their own, it was known to be nasty but still was my fault, more so because this was a known fact. It's not all about putting fault on trespassers, but you can not blame the dog for doing what it's meant to do. Not that the dog is blameless, it seems like a shared blame and a gamble you take hopping over a fence. -
Yeah, we lost a bacon nylabone! Seems antlers are about the best suggestion at this point. Carrot is a good one though!

I found the same with the Royal Canin. Just didn't care for it at all and it wasn't flash for him either. -
Here We Go Again, This Time Sa's Turn?
Steph M replied to luvsdogs's topic in General Dog Discussion
I had to pay a much higher council registration for Tilba because she wasn't desexed until 14 months old. I mentioned that I would be getting her desexed when older & was told I wouldn't get a refund, which I wasn't expecting anyway. I was also told that if I wanted to get a letter from the breeder to say that she was to be used as a breeder I would only have to pay the reduced fee. How odd. I guess the problem is the people who don't register, with anything like this the more you legislate the more things are driven underground. -
They do sound good, can't hurt to try. Was looking for something he could have inside, as that's where the thieving tends to happen.

Gus is pretty slobbery, are your guys more drooly too? Perhaps that's it?

Those are the most blissful minutes out. I gave Gus one earlier and got SO MUCH DONE. Haha. -
Just posing a hypothetical, not everything is easy for everyone. Shite happens, unfortunately.
-
Gus loves his toys....we haven't lost one to the teeth yet, but he's getting harder and harder on them so time for a few new, hardcore ones. We have a freezer full of doggie bones and meat. Actually buying a chest freezer JUST for him. Sigh. Have to agree on the cardboard though, and the forbidden things. Namely my jammie pants and socks, the door snake (now retired) and runners. Everything lives in the laundry now. Haha, my house has never been less cluttered!

If it's not too personal would love to see the photo when you find it, it sounds beautiful and her work looks lovely!

Being on the other side is lovely too, mum lost our English Setter a few months back and the local park regulars where he'd been going since a 4 month old pup were lovely noticing his absence. I agree, it's hard when any go. It's like a big extended family.
