  1. My dog does great on his mixed diet, how on earth did all these dogs over all this time manage without your wisdom?
  2. Well you do still sound rather rude, no one is attacking what you choose to feed, but some dogs do better on other diets. As I said, what is best for you and your dogs may not be best for someone else and their dogs. And a friendly reminder the topic was about firming up a pup's stool, not the optimum puppy diet. :) Apologies if you thought anyone was 'giving you shit' for choosing to feed as you do. Certainly not my intention, nor anyone else's so I imagine.
  3. The beast got my finger with a tooth last night while taking a treat overenthusiastically. He literally caught it on my finger, wasn't even a bite. I have a half cm cut now that is super sore today. Lots of betadine since then, but gee it smarts! Anyone who doesn't think even a friendly dog could do damage if they wanted to is mad!
  4. Well if you can find some that are relatively clean/clear, do let me know. The monkey loves mudbathing
  5. Not the PoPo! We actually came across our first PoPo hellicopter (I am laughing so much getting to say PoPo. We use that a lot here, living in the west) on a walk today. Gus stopped for a listen, then a bark, then play bowed to it in the sky and carried on walking. V funny. So glad he's settling well! Urgh he's so cute!
  6. Some dry food is, but no need to judge how other people feed. Personally I have seen a lot of dogs really flourish on just dry, even the cheap stuff. There's no one size fits all, so what may well work for you may not work for someone else, no need to be rude.
  7. Pretty sure you can have two similar sites exist on the internet, that can happen. Cool idea! I'll check that out. Sounds like you have a lot of fun writing it, and lucky pup getting to trial parks and fun things!

    Puppy Class

I love ours, lots of play, talking about acceptable play behaviors and unacceptable ones, general info and now we've moved onto the good stuff, Gus is proving to be a clever cookie, and I enjoy it, it's a little like a mothers club really, where else can you have a laugh about sneaky doggy kisses and now knowing what liver treats taste like? I think it's invaluable, so long as you get a really good one that you're happy with. Send me a message if you'd like to know any more! How exciting for you!
  9. We call them pupdates too, haha. I call on my lunch to check in. I think it'll be fiiiiine. Probably a big adjustment, they will work it out. Pup photos please!
  10. Ohhhhh the new lot of puppies are sooooooo cute! I'll be kidnapping Tyrion too, thanks! I have a wishlist of pups and dogs I'd like to steal away and keep for cuddles!
  11. You must be so relieved to have a diagnosis! And definitely best case scenario! Congrats to all!
  12. So does Gus. It's so loud and dramatic. Scares the shite out of me when he does it at 2am though! Hahahahaha.
  13. He's an angel! I can tell he's been up and wandering, things will move about, occasionally the junk mail finds its way onto the floor and magically my socks/gloves/undies end up in his bed! He couldn't be to blame though, looks way too angelic when I wake him up for breakie. Haha. How gorgeous is that puppy wake up yawn and stretch combo?
  14. As long as neither has a bowel movement....Hahaha. Yeah. only been about 4 days now and whether it's changing the food/bedding/heating/grass i don't know, but something has made a positive change, we don't know what it was but at least it's gone? We did go with the Artemis. The vet said the Artemis puppy would be fine. It isn't grain free and the protein levels are good. Plus it's playing a decreasing part in his diet, so she thinks it's fine and dandy! He's been an absolute a**hole of a night, if I'm honest. He will sleep like an angel, but getting him to GO to bed and settle was so hard. This seems to be the answer though, he's happier if he's near us and I feel relatively confident I won't step in any sad little pee puddles when I wake up. We all win!
  15. Gus puppy has officially moved into his big boy bed in our room, he's now free ranging it. Never had an accident over night and woke me up last night for a wee and took himself back to his bed, no baby gate required. We're all sleeping better, and it's nice to have him there! Even caught the cat in his bed this morning!
  16. I'm pleased it's working out well! We've swapped food and he's a whole new dog, skin wise. No more itching, which has also resulted in him sleeping through the night with no pee breaks, so he's graduated to a big boy bed in our room. Haha. He has his bed in a corner and is now a free range flattie. I even woke up today to the cat who couldn't stand him in bed with him, great success everywhere! He's just the most fab little guy. If you were closer I'd be scouting for a Nixon playdate! He sounds like fun too.
  17. He has redeemed himself! Was a gem at 'school' last night, got to be the teachers example and was much less hyper than last week. Is making huge progress then slept all night in his bed when Brooke forgot to put his baby gate up, little guy just snoozed (possibly raided the litter tray for a midnight snack, but I'm choosing to let that one slide) and didn't have one accident, despite missing his 2 nocturnal pee trips. Making progressssssssss!
  18. We lived in an apartment and really really considered getting a dog there and in the end we decided for us it was going to be a massive stretch and and we would have to compromise a lot of things we wanted in a dog and in the ways we wanted to raise a dog. Not saying you're wrong, I think it can be done but with the greatest of intentions we decided it might not be for us. About a year later we're in a house we love to bits with a dog who is everything we wanted. Glad we waited in retrospect!
  19. I agree, and I've popped her an email. Her suggestion was to try some different bedding, see if that might be it. She's always V helpful, just trying to rule things out as I go and getting info from everywhere I can. I haven't had trouble with Beef as yet, but can't hurt to chop it out for the week too. He can be a chicken and lamb pup for a while. Thanks for all your help, everyone! Sure we'll get on top of it, big adjustment for all of us!
  20. We're at about the same level, and about the same level of respect, it seems!
  21. We just had our first real naughty puppy moment. I emailed Brooke to ask if Gus had had lunch and got back this; "Heard pup chomping on something earlier, found him in his corner chewing the foil dish from desert. Also had a neat pile of a carrot skin, some green veggie scraps and the sardine tin. When I walked in, he dropped it and power-walked outside to hide, which is when I realized the bin was overturned and everything dragged out onto the kitchen floor, with a poop in the middle of the garbage pile." I have to say, he's a class act if nothing else. Pup knows what he likes, apparently apple crumble and foil, but not brussel sprouts or carrots. So much so he cr*ps on them in disgust. Or was having too much fun to go outside, knew that the jig would be up if he asked to go out. Hahahaha.
