Gus Had His First Pre-puppy School Bath.

I believe ours is, she seems very switched on and it was controlled. No off leash, very supervised and not the whole hour. It'll be much different next week, I'm assured. A lot of the pups hadn't met any dogs or people before and a few owners had never had a dog before so I can see why a little bit of introduction is needed, for dogs and owners. Haha. -

They did. It wasn't all silly time. There was a lot of sitting quietly and seeing what motivates them, food, toys, attention etc. They were asked to sit quietly and given a pigs ear to chew while the 'adults talked' and allowed to play for 5 mins every so often to break it up. -

It's pretty good actually, came very highly recommended and I like the staff a heap. A lot of stuff is covered, but the first class, which was last night, is more a checking of vacc certs and meet and greet and run through of safety stuff and assessing tempraments for grouping. I don't actually mind him playing with other dogs, he doesn't bully them, just wants to play and chat, albeit a little excitedly. But he'll be grouped accordingly. He will lay off when asked and is not bad to re-focus on us so I'm happy for him to have some silly time. Proper classes start next monday and yeah, it wasn't as bad as it seems. Very funny actually. I learned a few things already too. -

Yeah I know as much. But there is still a degree of training and he seems to love to distract the other kids! -

Gus was the ratbag of the class. Immediately honed in on a GR the same size and age and they proceeded to roll all over each other and chew on eyes, ears and tails and throw each other around. He then turned his attention to a lovely little Aus Shep, who was behaving like a dream til Gus wound her up to the point she just sat and yapped the rest of the class, so the three of them set about corrupting everyone, by the end of it he was asleep in my lap while everyone else carried on. Oh the shame! Still, I like that he's outgoing and friendly, he climbed into a little kids lap and licked her mercilessly while she donked him on the head with a rope toy (my sister is actually in labour as we speak, so best get used to kids I guess? I don't think he even noticed tbh. He seemed thrilled in the attention) The woman who runs it said he was a lot of fun and very responsive, even when he was in full ratbag mode. And he did back off when someone didn't want to play. She called him 'the motivator' I think she really meant 'instigator' I don't know how much he'll learn, given he's just so excited about the other dogs but we got the best sleep ever last night! I'm happy if he has fun and meets new people and pups. We do a bit of training at home and have an appt to join the obedience club before too long. -

Oh no poor darlin! Hope it's something soft and easy. Poor thing will be most unimpressed when he gets home! Hope he gets home sooner rather than later -

He was being such a bugger. He was only recalling because I had a fistful of liver treats and then he'd be off again. All well and good but he was on lead and being a total monkey! First time he'd seen a lot. There's about 8 in the class and his eyes about bugged out of his head. He hangs out with mum's dogs sometimes, met my Aunty's Westie last week for a good play. But en masse and puppies, it was like Christmas had come early. She's having a girl. It's been quite interesting. It was very, very unplanned but now I get to buy baby stuff and not do any of the hard work. Hooray! -

We had our first puppy school adventure last night. I don't know who was more tired after tbh. Gus was the ratbag of the class. Immediately honed in on a GR the same size and age and they proceeded to roll all over each other and chew on eyes, ears and tails and throw each other around. http://dog-milk.com/lifeguard-doghouse-by-unleash-studio/ I love this one, just for the photos. How awesome is that little dog?!
-
Fab! He sounds like a lot of fun! I'll be looking forward to Christmas playdates. He sounds a lot like our monkey.
-
 I think that should be destined for YouTube! Hey, he dreams of what he loves most. I bet he's dreaming of an overfilled litter tray and toast left on the coffee table. I'll try catch it next time.

Gorgeous! Temp is the biggest thing. What's he like?
-
Lisa, you didn't say, which one did you settle on? What's his tail like? :D

Ours has started being a real retriever and we go on little walks and he carries a stick or a leaf or a bit of grass, but he's as slow as a wet week! Hahaha! I see the appeal of a leaf now. Glad we're not alone.
-
Ours seems to dream of eating. No kidding. He will chomp and chew and lick his lips and then groan in the most satisfied way. So funny. If it's related to intelligence we have a dunce on our hands...

He's recovered, currently asleep on the couch snoring and farting like you wouldn't believe. He wouldn't even look at me after, except to make sure I was watching the dramatics. And he still ate the treats I was offering him in the tub, just when he thought I wasn't looking and had put them on the side of the sink. I figure if he can at least stay clean til school at 7pm tomorrow we're in the clear. That is asking a lot though... Bet he won't be the only muddy brat though. -
Woe is me! He's just throwing himself around on me and in front of my feet and sighing and moaning. I've never seen anything so dramatic in my whole life. 'Why would you do that to me, though?' 'I worked so hard on that foul puppy funk' 'I'm raiding the litter tray and kissing that cow on the mouth later'

Today we had a bit of a puppy warming, few friends, lots of sausages, some puppy soccer and lots and lots of cuddles. Little dude even got some cool presents from my lovely friends, this being one of them. Totally pooped here now too. -

CONGRAAAAAAAAAAAAATS! That's so cool! -
I agree with this, and a bit of yoghurt. But I believe you have to go by ear a bit in terms of quantity. My vet was telling me they exaggerate the required amounts on some of them by quite a bit. I could be wrong though!

I quite like the garnet ones too but I don't want it to be too pretty!

http://karmacollars.com/products/the-kona Ooooh so pretty! Gawd, when was the last time I spent $74 on jewellery for myself!

Thanks guys....there goes my future pay.
