  1. I said exactly the same thing to my OH when it was on the news. He said something about pitbulls and I promptly showed him the "pick the pitbull" page. I don't like bull breeds at all (just don't like the look), but I will educate everyone around me NOT to propagate breed specific hate. I thought exactly the same thing when seeing it on ch 9.
  2. Cleanrun are great, I love the free shipping section! Always fast, great quality and some pretty cool stuff.
  3. I'll be fine! I am just sooking! Haha. I will get on it today or whine til boyfriend does it. Haha. We need to mow, shame of my life. Might be extra nice to my little brother two suburbs over, he's handy as anything! Bunnings is in order this week anyway, there's one next to work!
  4. We have 11 days now and I am in a blind panic. Struck down by a chest infection so I am on the couch in blankets barking panicked orders at poor Brooke. I feel like a Disney villain, I should start singing my orders and wearing too much makeup and an elaborate outfit. Our current point of pain is the previous tenants here left all sorts of shite in the garden beds and in the lawn, kids toys, old jars, cups, medicine bottles, rotting towels, old clothes pegs, even old onions and potatoes that have just been thrown out the door? There were a handful of young kids, like, 4 under 5 I believe, but still. Pretty gross. So I have to get my gardening gloves on and go through the garden and go over the yard with a rake before we mow, OH and hire a mower. Haha. Sounds easy enough but I've been up all night worrying about getting it done. I should be counting down my sleep ins! My biggest consolation is that we have everything we need, minus food and puppy, the food ships overnight when we know what it is and we have a great superstore on the way back from the airport and a freezer full of various puppy meats. It turns you into a neurotic nutcase. I've been driving mum mad with photos here and there. How do new parents even live? I'm this bad with a puppy, I should book myself in to get neutered at the same time! Haha. Might get a two for one!
  5. Mum leaves her little shih-tzu in one sometimes, but we all know she's not likely to get out of bed unless she has to whiz, and even then...straight back to bed.
  6. Officially booked in for the 7th, which is PERFECT timing over the long weekend. I am bouncing about like a nutcase.
  7. Oh she shouldn't worry! How can you make a puppy poo if it doesn't feel the urge? If the vet says (as it sounds) it's not so much medical as a habit thing it's hardly her fault! She sounds lovely!! I can! I am organising transport and everything today, wondering if I can take the day off work on the Friday or just do it on the saturday ;)
  8. 2 weeks, and ohmygosh he is cute. Total little chubber!
  9. We just found out which little dude is ours, he's a total spunk!!!
  10. I had this myself and it was the worst! Just cleared up by itself as fast as it had come on, but was certainly hellish...
  11. I don't think it's not liking the animal, just some are harder to live with than others (dogs and people) and perhaps the bond just doesn't occur, could happen for a myriad of reasons. Perhaps you just accept that the dog could do better than you, that it might be happier elsewhere. Sounds logical to me, tbh. It may well be a very human trait, but you can't change your species, and you can't change the effect these traits might have on your life.
  12. I wrote an essay to ours! Sheesh, poor woman. I told her who we were, what we did for work and what our hours were like, what pets we had, what we want from a pet, why we think the breed was ideal for us, our living situations and our timeframe. I broke the rules a bit and asked what price we were looking at and asked whether she was happy to transport as we are interstate. Got lovely responses from those who responded, had a few who didn't bother, but ultimately for the best. Really I just approached it like writing a dating profile, HAHA. I really did.
  13. The worst! I'm running on an aprox timeframe, but it's the bare minimum so I will likely be disappointed. How's the puppy proofing going?
  14. So guys! Who's next?! Two weeks or so left here, tide me over!!! Photos from you please, KyKy!
  15. We have a cat like that, probably my fault I wasn't well not long after he came to me and I probably just didn't put as much time in as I could? Or perhaps that's just the way he is? Either way, he's loved by my OH and very well looked after but I just do not adore him the way I adore our other cat. I probably had too high expectations given how well I get along with my other cat, he's the best thing to ever come about and I am so glad he's around, but the other cat is just, there? I don't see myself ever loving him the same, but he has a good life with us and has really become 'Brooke's cat'. In all honesty, had I not met Brooke and moved in, I might have considered rehoming him. There was a lot of guilt but I really thought about it for a while.
  16. Oh wow, those are awesome! I quite like the tiger print. Rawr, etc. Haha.
  17. Hahaha no no, he's a bigger softie than I am. If I suggested it, I'd be outside.
  18. Eeek. Will keep an eye out, horrible stuff! I had a look there, their booking form is not working, but Stayz.com.au has some nice little cottages. Now to wrangle a day or two leave...
  19. How cool! Any accom suggestions? If I'm not pushing it too much? ;)
  20. Awesome! Thank you! I've just bought the other half a Go Pro and puppy is a few weeks away. Might look into a weekend away up there!
  21. Helllooooo. I was just wondering if anyone knew any cool Victorian spots you can take your dogs to have a play in the snow without being too much of a PITA and getting in the way? It's coming to that time of year, best embrace it I guess! We love the snow, not skiiers but I make a mean snowman.
  22. I always loved that as a kid, any excuse to have a chat to a cool dog!
  23. Shit sandwich, what a great term. Haha.
  24. I'd have done the same, and crazy parents like her are how children grow up with no idea how to deal with animals. 'Those things' indeed. Should have said you weren't too keen on her snot nosed brats near your well behaved dogs, which is why you were miles away ;)
