After leaving my dogs home alone for a while - i would use this option, but only if i could find someone i trusted to come and feed them! There are no kennels in this area that I would use, I have seen what goes on behind closed doors at two kennels, and the other one I was not happy with, so if i go away the same time my parents do, I am kinda stuck Dogs can cope for a long time in kennels, but it is so hard to find one that you trust

yep, there are heaps of different types! Atlas is not allergic to anything. Rained again yesterday, feet smell today... wish i could keep water proof boots on him!

I wouldnt do it - I like to have the older dog trained how i want them trained, then bring another dog in - Atlas was 18 months when I got Kaos and it worked out perfect.

:D whoah Teebs, you are talking to the wrong breeders ! thankfully I've rarely met any like that. I also just remembered, I never was asked anything when I got Atlas or Kaos - I rung Ats breeder, realised he knew my parents, so told me I could have a pup, from there, Kaos's breeder told me she knew Ats breeder and was happy with me getting a dog from her. So no questions, even tho the breeders didnt actually know me, just my parents! ETA: I dont see any problem with asking price first up - no point wasting someones time if there is no way I could afford one of their dogs!

I have talked to many breeders, and most of them dont care where their pups go... just as long as they go. Saying that... I also know a few rescues that do that too (not on DOL)

My niece is in year 2 this year, she proudly told everyone she could spell Kaos - K A O S We now make her spell it Chaos when she is writing her name down

My guys are on dry food, with a bit of fresh mince and bones every few days - never had a problem with them. I did have them on a really really good dry food, but since I no longer work at the place I get it cheap at, i have had to go to supermarket brands and they are both fine. The best food for your dog is the one they do well on I feed my guys once a day.

Update for those who were interested. Managed to get a cheap dremel (thanks whoever posted that link!) so nails are being done a little most nights. Not much difference in his feet at all... BUT - tonight we had a huge storm, heaps of rain... he can now hardly walk, he wont let me touch his feet and they smell again At least I know water makes them worse, I guess it has been so dry here that I havent noticed before!

Mine have been left a lot longer than 10 hours, I do have 2 but they spend a lot of time sleeping!

I am still out - It is just too hot outside, still close to 30 degrees and kaos is the type of dog to keep going just because I told her too, she wouldnt know when to stop. So safer to stay home have also canceled all my dog walks... we had about 2 mins of rain this afternoon and now the temp is going back up again

Yep, of course people expect to be paid for doing a job ? I would pay $10 a day for it, it only takes a few seconds at my house, but the person does have to drive over - i would even be happy to pay 15 A DOLer had a poop scooping business - not sure if she still does it or not!

40 at 10am here. scary. Can't believe pets get left out in this by anyone. Stay safe. It is hotter inside than it is outside here. My house holds the heat, if the dogs had to be left inside during the day when I was at work they would be in their crates, no way to cool down. Right now, Kaos is inside with me, but the 3 cats are out in their cat runs, and Atlas is out in the garage on the cold floor fast asleep

Im back of night shift, but wont be going tonight, i have only had 2 hour sleep I am buggered and it is on 30degrees right now, just too hot for kaos. I will get back into it tomorrow after a good night sleep

Atlas had his 4 shots a few weeks ago, did ok for a while, but I have noticed the last few days he is limping again (he is only 6 ) going in to vaccinate Sumo on monday, so will talk to her about a treatment plan for him - if he needs it every few weeks, i dont mind - it made such a difference!

no walk tonight either, just about to duck out and do some stuff, then home to bed - doing night shift, will walk tomorrow!

Oh noes, i am in trouble now! Kaos is used to being walked I didnt take her tonight, as I had a heap of dog walks for other peoples dogs and was buggered when I got home, she sat at the door with the lead in her mouth crying I took her for a drive instead!!!

Got mine today, very happy - it can handle Altas's nails! Just had a work out with it - will do it again a bit later on, save a trip to the vets every 2 weeks

I used to do one on each side, Atlas on the left and Kaos on the right. I now only walk one at a time, kaos walks fast, where At likes to take his time and sit.. and sit.. and have a rest... I just cant take them both at once!

I just took Atlas for a walk, we got to the end of the drive way (about a 2 min walk) and he laid down and had a rest for abit, then got up and wanted to come home...

I just got home from an hour walk, included with abusing someone for not only having a puppy off lead running all over the road, but screaming at it and having it cowering in fear... but i think they did get the point and told me they might bring a lead next time! I have no choice now, i have 2 pairs of pants that fit me and i can not afford to feed myself, let alone go clothes shopping! so i have to lose weight!!!

I have been really good the last few weeks, I normally walk so many other dogs, that i just dont wanna walk mine when I get home! I only walk Kaos, At sometimes gets a walk around the block, but at the moment his arthritis is playing up so much he doesnt even want to walk inside So far, since the 2nd, i have walked for between an hour, and 1.5 hours each night with kaos. It has only been a few days, but i have already noticed a difference in myself, my pants fit a bit better
