Annual Check Ups - How Much Much & What Done
Teebs replied to JulesP's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
VERY overpriced! I would have walked out I pay $40 for my vaccinations, and my vet does a full check over, she does charge extra if i do bloods, but for a simple check over, it is included with the needles. If i go to the other vet here, it is about $75 -
I think a lot of you sound like 2 year olds - so much for standing together as one to try to get BSL removed, i am sure those that support BSL would have a great time reading this and watching dog lovers turn on each other. Well done.

Poor old man, as i said on FB, it took ages for my old boy to get over the removal of the cancer on his foot - it was actually after that operation i told them they were not touching him again, the pain he was in was heartbreaking to watch  he was 10 at the time, and lived till he was 14. Give him another hug for me, and you can have one too

we got one at work, just to try - they dont work well at all I can not cut Atlas's nails, he goes nuts, my boss does it every few weeks, Atlas has to be muzzled and still goes nuts about it i get the dremel, he sits still and lets me do it I actually only have a $13 wannabe dremel, bust $13 i ever spent!

Can't Choose From A Few Dry Foods
Teebs replied to all that glitters's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I know a few fantastic breeders who feed pedigree, dogs all do very well on it stick to the diet the breeder has, and find something and slowly change, as someone said, go by how well the dog does on it i could feed chum to one of mine and she would still look fantastic, but i have only found 2 dry foods that do the same to my boy. -
Does it matter? A dog will need to see a vet on and off during its life, some visits may be cheap, some may cost a lot more. have you owned a dog before?
-
I would be taking the dog to the vets for a full check up - My dog acts that way too, but he is lazy Saying that, i do know when he is sick. Better to be safe than sorry, take her to the vets and get a full check over.

She is so pretty RIP little one

I know many female dogs that mark, we see it every day at work, and many that cock their legs

sorry, just read that the nail is still there! I left kaos, crated her the night and vets the next day. Hers was in a way, that you couldnt bandage it without causing a heap of pain, it had twisted and was sticking up towards her head. The dog at work that did it (boss's dog, not a border!) we left him for a few days, and he never managed to get the nail off, the vet also had to remove it, as did one of their other dogs god i am bad luck when it comes to dogs nails! i didnt like bandaging either.. but i didnt like blood through my house thankfully the bleeding stopped by the time the bandage was removed!
-
oh, this is something i know If the nail is totally off, just bandage for 24 hours, to keep clean, if the nail is still there and the dog does not remove it, it will need to be taken out Anti bios are usually started, and maybe pain killers I had Atlas on pain killers for his, but kaos seemed ok with hers, so i didnt worry - Atlas ended up having both dew claws removed (operations, they wont grow back), he was out of action for 2 weeks, kaos was up and about like nothing had happened 2 days later, but hers was just pulled out and will grow back Vet also did the same when Atlas ripped two normal nails, bandage for 2 days, pain killers and Anti bois, those nails also grew back I hate dew claws

Thanks! We are pretty close now, she knows she has to pick the toy up and drop it, then bring the bucket to me, she just has to work out i want the toy in the bucket
-
First of all i would block off access to the bedrooms, and go back to strict toilet training. My first dog was fully toilet trained by the time he was 14 weeks, my other dog by the time she was 20 weeks (i got her at an older age) Is there a medical reason for her still going inside? maybe a vet trip is in need? Sure others will come with more advice

RIP old girl
