  1. Stunning shots, love the kangaroo one
  2. I wonder if you could speak to any of the other dog owners at the park and maybe ask if they would know of or want to walk him with their dogs. Years ago a friend of mine was unable to have her own dog (they were renting) and she hated walking alone, so she asked everyone she could think of to walk their dogs. She never asked for payment as she wanted the walking buddy. Maybe you can find this sort of arrangement
  3. If you call any of the Brittany Breeders they will be able to tell you who breeds what. Most of them know each other and know who has litters, I'm sure they will be more than willing to help you out. A lot of breeders have waiting lists for their pups, so phoning and getting your name on a list wouldn't be a bad thing. I do know that an American/French lined litter has not long been born in Melbourne.
  4. I've got one that is a real heavy gauge wire, it's really heavy so we don't really bother to move it very much - it doesn't have a brand on it though. I got it second hand, maybe have a look and ask to view it first.
  5. I'm so very sorry for your loss
  6. I wonder if an automatic waterer mounted at chest height would work? http://www.bowhouse.com.au/p/737730/automatic-pet-waterer---easily-hooks-up-to-a-water-tap.html You might just have a rather large water bill, but at least they'd still have water on hot days. Failing that install a horse trough lol
  7. I used to help to get horses ready for Auctions, we'd use Alpha Keri oil. Add a decent squirt into a bucket of warm water and tip over the horse. Their coats looked amazing. I have used it for my kids in their baths as they have sensitive skin and the cold weather brings on eczema, so it's very gentle on their skin
  8. Have you spoken to your breeder about this? They should have knowledge about the best food that their dogs do on (and what the pups will have started on)
  9. When we were looking for a new dog, one of the breeds that I liked the look & sound of was the Schipperke. I chatted for some time with a breeder that showed them, was told the do shed a bit, but with a good brush it's not too bad & they seem like lovely hardy dogs. Might be worth a look at? Goodluck in your search
  10. Not a current dog, but my Rottweiler walked through the fly screen door so many times that my Dad put metal on the bottom, so she decided to jump trough the top. She ate the wooden frames that hold the glass in the window frame. Chewed fence palings off. Dug some amazing craters, she loved to help in the garden by removing anything that you just planted LOL. She once came into the bathroom when I was in the shower and stole my underwear and too it into the lounge room - my brother & his mates were there She was the most beautiful dog, but naughty until she was around 2 years old.
  11. Great job, I'm thinking of doing one, just have to work out what to use for the stuffing
  12. Oh my, think I might just need to get one of those lol. What are the measurements please??? Just want to make sure it will fit where I would like it to go.
  13. Do you have any sand in the yard? Fleas seem to love sandy & sandy soil.
  14. There are so many "new" breeds out there, I'm so confused. A friend was talking about a Samaretriever I had no idea what she was on about
  15. I'm not a breeder but I think if you are up front and honest with them it would be okay to let them know - most of the breeders of the same breed seem to know each other anyway, so they'd probably find out.
  16. so sorry that you are going through this. I would take him to see the vet, you'll only regret not doing it if you don't. They will also be able to see how far down hill he's gone and hopefully advise you when the time is right. When it's right in front of you everyday you don't see how far they've gone (well you do but are most likely in denial) better to have fresh eyes. I hope the last days/weeks are the best that they can be.
  17. Vinegar works really well for cleaning up accidents, doesn't leave the ammonia smell that makes them want to go there again and is cheap. Good stainless bowls - preferably non slip. A good lead & collar. The kong product are great, you can stuff them with food and stuff into the groves and it will take them awhile to get it out.
  18. I think that no matter what breed you pick, you're best to go with a breeder that knows the puppies temperaments and will assist matching a dog to your family. My previous dog was a blue heeler x and we could not of asked for a better dog for my kids to have as their first pet. But she was great with everyone and everything. Good luck with your choice, it's very exciting adding a new member to your family
  19. My dogs are not allowed on the furniture anyways, so no we don't allow it if we stay anywhere. My in-laws on the other hand do, they say that the owners would expect it and everyone else that would normally allows their dogs on the furniture (they think we're very mean that we don't allow it) would do it also. Personally I think it's very rude, I sort of think it's like smoking in a place that doesn't allow smoking - but that's just me
  20. Sorry to hijack your thread, but which Bunnings store carries these? I've been unable to find these on their website and at two local stores they looked at me like I had horns on my head when I asked.
  21. Oh my goodness, what a horrible thing to have happen. I am so very sorry for your loss
  22. can you use a freight forwarding company from the US?
