Little Brooke was faultless. This little handler is going to be a STAR!!! Such a way with her dogs and such a stylish little handler. She was just so proud of herself, it was adorable to watch.

Border Collies And Australian Shepherds
benshiva replied to haylz27's topic in General Dog Discussion
It certainly has. Haylz I'd go to as many trials as I could and chat to people there and watch the dogs working in the ring. Good luck with your search. The right dog for you is out there somewhere -
Border Collies And Australian Shepherds
benshiva replied to haylz27's topic in General Dog Discussion
"Show line" Border Collies are very good at agility/obedience etc as well. Just thought I'd ad that Dancinbcs once again a very informative and correct post. Your knowledge of our breed is to be admired -
What on earth could be cruel about this? It's another great way for owner and dog to work together. If you get the opportunity to see it, do so! It's amazing. Look it up on YouTube as well.

Absolutely never ever wear jeans. Far too casual for a show ring in my opinion. I used to be a pants girl until a very lovely exhibitor starting importing stunning skirt suits. I'm all about the skirts now

Agree with everything that Dancinbcs has said especially the bolded part. Makes my blood boil. I'd be taking the puppy back as well

Border Collie puppies delivered at home (12 weeks old now). Whelping room set up next door to our bedroom (moonlights as an office as well). Heated whelping box and heater in room as well. I sleep in the room for the first week to make sure mum is settled. Mum and puppies stay in the house for first 4 weeks. Puppies confined to whelping box for the first three weeks and the last week are allowed out and about in the house. After 4 weeks we start to introduce them to the outside world and set up a sleeping area in our back room. The sleep here until they leave home

Wow just went back and read my goals for the year. I can tick off Pink's title already She came back into the ring with a"BANG" and has had an amazing year. We had our very much anticipated litter and boy were we blown away by these babies. We've kept two ourselves (one in parntership with Poomother) and another girl is in a show home in SA. 4 of the 5 born were show quality, I've never had the depth of quality across a whole litter before. Very excited to have my new babies in the ring. Westminster was fantastic as always and we tacked a trip to LA onto the end of it as a bonus. Judges training is motoring along, although I'm very nervous about being able to retain all the info needed to pass the exams.

" Dogs On Show" - Open Day At Erskine Park, N S W
benshiva replied to Dogs Are Forever's topic in General Dog Discussion
DogsNSW needs a HUGE pat on the back for their hard work in promoting our breeds this weekend. The car park was jam packed and a LOT of people went through Erskine Park today. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time. Our Border Collie breed stand won most popular (thanks General Public for the votes) I'm thinking a certain little baby Border had a HUGE paw in that happening. Baby Frankie had the time of his life today. There was something happening in ring 1 all day. What a hard working group of volunteers. Hope tomorrow is as successful as today -
Skechers are the best

Although, they wouldn't meet the grooming requirements for a show line Border Collie. Particularly in the rural environment where it is likely to get dirty and tangled fur. I like your suggestion of the German Pinscher. It's fairly easily attainable in the US. The Border Collie coat is ideal for a rural environment. Mud falls off the coat when dry and they very rarely tangle. My vote is a BC as well.

A very well timed thread Gayle. Things were getting a little tedious in here What a stunning little man he is. A wonderful legacy to his lovely dad Have fun!!

In our younger year hubby and I were were both extremely fit. OH wanted a dog that he could jog with, I wouldn't and he got lonely jogging 10km a day on his own It took us two years of discussions before we both decided on a breed we thought would suit our lifestyle and our first BORDER COLLIE entered our home. Needless to say we are devoted to this breed and can never see ourselves without one. They are more intelligent than most people I know, they do not suffer fools easily (neither do I) and I love the challenge that living with them brings. They are beautiful to look at and they can do it all!!! The perfect dog in my eyes 5 years ago, a tan and white bundle of mischief entered my life in the form of a Whippet puppy. I fell in love the very first time I saw her and my house will never be without a Whippet either now. Why these dogs aren't more popular as family pets is beyond me, they're perfect! Love my Whippy girl xx

Why are you travelling to the bitch? Normally the owners of the bitch come to the stud dog. That would eliminate costs of travelling etc for you

Poor Tyson and poor family Sending hugs out to them all
