  1. i find this rule rather finicky. For instance if I wanted to name my papillon {prefix} El beshiva, but i can't because thats too similar to the prefix of a border collie breeder in NSW's. Like what impact does that have on the breeder? Agreed. And it appears to be up to the prefix owner to police this, not the admin people processing the registrations. There'd have to be hundreds of dogs with some version of "heaven sent" in their names, it's obviously not affecting any breeder, so why have the rule in place if it's going to be ignored by the admin staff? My prefix is Mainstreet, it's not been used yet and might never be, but I would expect there are dogs with some version of my prefix in their names. If another Border Collie breeder named one of their dogs something that looked VERY similar to my prefix, something that could be misconstrued as being my prefix, I'd jump up and down until it was changed. I don't want to be acknowledged as the breeder of anything other than what comes out of my yard. Other breeds I don't care. A quick check of the prefix and it's easily noted that I breed Border Collies and no other breed.

  3. If you look at the back of your papers, there is a section that you fill out and then you send the papers into your state's controlling body. The breeder needs to sign them as well. Then when you are issued with new papers your name will be on the front as the registered owner. The breeder's name will still be where the breeder's details are. I'm shocked the breeder did not explain all this to you.
  4. You can have as many words as you like in the name as long as the total letters including spaces does not exceed 30. I'd contact the breeder and request the change SNAP Dancinbcs!!
  5. That's how I read it as well. My bad Never heard of pigment being called points before. Hope the OP finds the info she's after
  6. Is that a recognised colour pattern in Poodles? Never seen that before. Would love to see a photo of her

  9. Absolutely can't agree with that. Black and White is by far the most beautiful and after looking through the latest DOL Puppy Listings I'm beginning to think Black and White may just be the new rare colour! Nah as I said before RED DOGS ROCK I see your red dogs and raise you: Introducing the new rare black and white Border

  11. I don't consider anything I buy my dogs useless thank you very much and I donate enough to plenty as well. This sort of post certainly doesn't inspire me to rush out and donate.
  12. I'm sorry but that is a coffee splurk moment. The ad sure got your attention, didnt it, just as it got the attention of everyone else commenting in this thread so it must be working on one level or another Even if it makes you cranky because she has her boobs on display. One thing is for sure - you wont be forgetting the ad in a hurry. Katherine Heigl ROCKS This It's obviously working to some degree. It has people talking about desexing dogs!!! I thought it was hilarious
  13. Slightly incorrect benshiva. The female body is designed to carry a pregnancy, give birth and feed the offspring. In humans the hair grows luxuriously and falls out when the baby is around 4 months old, with some women they can be almost bald. They also lose weight around 6 months of age. Given that dogs have a 9 week pregnancy and an 8 week feeding cycle, 5 weeks could equate to the hair loss age and weight loss of the pregnancy stored fat. Both recover quickly with sound nutrition. My dogs DO have sound nutrition. I'm only going by what I've experienced with my coated dogs and their recovery times from their litters. It DOES take them 6 months minimum to look in "show" condition again. So not incorrect at all in my opinion. Every dog is different
  14. I would disagree with this, plenty of greyhounds have been bred from that can't run, after all they are the 5th cousin twice removed from the current top dog! ;) Why they can't run is often not investigated. You are absolutely right there Rebanne.
  15. The puppies take everything off the poor mothers. She's going to look like she's been dragged through a hedge. It can take up to 6-12 months for a bitch to recover from a litter. She'll be fine
  16. Babe of course! Can't believe nobody has mentioned My Dog Skip Lassie Come Home Hachi My four favourite dog movies xx
  17. I have never seen him "hit"or "kick"a dog... The show was FANTASTIC at Newcastle and I think he is amazing....and it showed in the training of one special dog in 5 minutes. Just "my"opinion.. Wouldnt have missed it for anything. I was at the Newcastle show too! I thought he was fantastic. Love Ceasar. He was very entertaining. The Q and A in Newcastle was pretty good.
  18. I show black and white Border Collies and wear black skirts a lot. Never had a problem with a judge seeing top lines etc. The only time it is a problem is at night when you have photos taken.
  19. I carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)i am never without it(anywhere i go you go,my dear; and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling) i fear no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true) and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you here is the deepest secret nobody knows (here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows higher than the soul can hope or mind can hide) and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart For my heart who's last babies turned one year old today. 20. Do you have grounds to appeal the decision? I'd contact them with the information you've given here re: already have website, signwriting etc and see what they say.

OMG a tablespoon of salt to a cup of water would be torture on a poor dog! Please OP do NOT do this. That's way to harsh a mixture to put on a cut. A TEASPOON to a litre of water would be more like the concentration I'd use.
  22. I agree!! Conformation is my thing for want of a better word. Agility is my husbands domain. We've both tried our hand at obedience and we've both spent a lot of time around the rings at all three disciplines. For those that think it doesn't exist outside the "show" world open your eyes. There are some VERY nasty people in all three disciplines. Find the good ones and stick with them. I must be so lucky because the people I hang with at shows are fanbloodytastic!!! We have a brilliant time at shows and we ALWAYS welcome questions from newbies. Just seek us out and start asking
  23. Tell her to stop involving you then. Tell her you want nothing to do with it and don't want to hear about it. When she tries to talk about it with you tell her you're not interested
