  1. It makes my skin crawl. You're not alone. They are my dogs. I love them with every fibre of my being, but they are my dogs.
  2. God knows what you think of the horse exhibitors in long boots, tie or stocks, black jackets and velvet hats. No one is forced to "dress up" but some choose to dress to a higher standard to show respect for the judge and to showcase their dogs. To each their own. I'm certainly one of the suit brigade. If people think I look stupid or ridiculous, I'll still sleep at night. I also have quite a few suits and I enjoy dressing up for shows. Absolutely gorgeous. Love the suit on you xx
  3. This! I would much rather see someone in the ring that has put a bit of effort in to look well dressed, rather than some I see that look like they just dragged their backsides out of bed LOL. I'll stick with my suits and runners and stockings But each to their own
  4. Agree with this. Have a repo vet manage your girl's next pregnancy. They'll do prog tests throughout the pregnancy to keep an eye on levels and she can be given injections if the levels drop. I saved a litter this way
  5. Frozen Puppies is not around anymore. The original owners are now Sires On Ice and are fantastic! I'd recommend them highly. You can speak to Jess on their Facebook page I believe that Sires On Ice have a branch in the UK that do the Camelot (pellet) method as well.
  6. Another awesome edition!! HUGE well done again x
  7. Couldn't disagree more with that!! Some of the most amazing homes my puppies have gone to have been homes where the owners work full time. I choose my homes very carefully and am delighted with my full time working homes I've chosen for my babies.
  8. Sorry I disagree with this comment. I have a lot to do with both breeds together and the Aussies are far more "clown like" and on the go than the Borders. I don't find them chilled out compared to Borders at all. Just my observations though I must add, I've sold Borders to people with young kids on quite a few occassions. I DID however make sure that the calmest puppy in the litter went to these people. In 14 years I've never had a complaint. I have also sold to first time owners, I've been careful and made sure that the people had the correct attitude toward Border ownership and were active and willing to spend a TONNE of time training and living with the dog.
  9. I make the comments i do based on more than 20 years living and learning about the breed in questions. I NEVER make comments on breeds I do not know intimately but I WILL on this breed. I stand by my comment that I personally would never shave a Border Collie unless absolutely necessary and I wouldn't do it for the sake of keeping them cool. I would if there was a worry about ticks, grass seeds etc. I also don't give a toss if other people do or they don't. Their dog, they can do what they like, but the question was asked so I answered
  10. I've met a couple over the years in America. A good friend owns and shows them. Hers are just pussy cats. Truly lovely.
  11. A Border Collie has a weather proof coat for a reason. It insulates against both cold and HEAT! Keeping them cool isn't an excuse to clip off the coat. However, if I lived in an area heavily affected by Paralysis tick, I'd consider it
  12. I strongly recommend that you speak to your vet and get him to draw blood for a CL test. It can only be done by approved testers. Here is a link to all the information on CL http://www.bccnsw.com/dnatesting.html I would also speak to your breeder and ask them if they have done all the relevant DNA testing and if you can see the results of this testing. If they have not, then SHAME on them I wish you all the best with your lovely dog SonnyBC.
  13. OMG I simply have no words other than I'm so so sorry
  14. It has Sez! How scarily fast does time fly
  15. Two years today. Gone in the blink of an eye, yet so very slow as well. You're missed every single day. My heart xx
  16. John most certainly is. Still around, still working and is brilliant! Same location as well. His phone number is: 0417403031
  17. http://www.fourflax.com.au Fantastic product. I fed Supercoat once and it wreaked havoc on my dogs' coats. Never ever again.
  18. Freevale breed stunning dogs. So do Vladimar
  19. I've already owned my ideal dog. Black and White, Border Collie love of my life called Webster. There was not a thing about him that I would change other than I wish he was still here.
  20. I have paid for the collections myself and store my dogs' semen. When we have had people purchase breeding units overseas, I send one breeding unit and one spare, with the absolute clear understanding that the spare is not to be used if the first is successful. I charge a normal stud fee for one breeding unit.
  21. Yes I assist. I allow mum to deliver the puppy, present puppy to mum to work on and then take over a little to ensure airways are clear. Then I put baby back with mum to continue cleaning and fussing over. I've always done it this way
