  1. I can't answer that one for you Di, I'm sorry. Looks like human error somewhere but I can't explain it and can only apologise. At the moment it's hard to work out who is safe, we muddle along and continue to list because something is better than nothing if you consider how many animals get listed vs errors made. I do however, feel you're having a very public and personal dig at the volunteers who run the thread and go in to meet the dogs. Perhaps if the thread is so inaccurate you best just deal directly with the pound and use their website. Cut us out of the loop please. xanna
  2. +1 Fran. I'm just not a fan of posing with a kill or dead thing in general (incl celebs in furs). Same for the numerous ones that appear on my newsfeed as animal welfare /anti meat/ anti fur/ petitions etc etc...... It's creepy and in some cases really morbid. Puts me right off.
  3. I can find two black & white, smooth coat, 8 weeks 1 boy 1 girl. Not advertised yet. Desexed before adoption. Carer travels to the adopter. xx
  4. That is very sad. We are always ready and able to list immediately with at least a mug shot or even better, one of Kel's pics and notes. I'm sorry but with so many other obligations, battling to get information when it's not forthcoming is tiresome. Did you ring the pound for a list ? Who would you like the list sent to ? Just ring and ask it is forthcoming but cannot be just sent out into cyberspace Or if you cannot call the pound ask Kelscats she will gladly give it to you I was being emailed the list every week. And have never been able to get one over the phone. :) This week apparently all the dogs were safe by the time Kel got there. Ok, fine that's great, nobody is complaining. The confusion is that a list was being posted on facebook stating several dogs were not and needed rescue or adoption. So which is it?
  5. Allowing one private group to monopolise and control information coming out of any council rate payer funded facility is wrong and unsustainable. If a system exists that allows someone to tag all the dogs and use them to ask for money on facebook then that system is broken. HP know our concerns and were told right at the start. Ball is in their court as you can see. If we have anyone left who will go in then Dol will get the temp notes and photos.
  6. Anne, to staff who understandably would rather see a dog leave alive and have limited time to make it happen, one single group of people who come along and take full control of the pts list would be very appealing. The details would seem like background noise of rescue bickering. There's nothing to tell management. Dogs are still getting out. Bottom line is numbers.

  8. Yoiks, will do asap. Sorry! Nic you'd have to email or phone. I'm sure she switched her PM's off. :)
  9. Oh please. Haven't you got more important things to worry about? Yes we do - like saving dogs You might find that being less dismissive and combative would get you further when working with the established 'saving dogs' network. :) I have no idea who you are, have never heard of you or any apparent rumors. But the way you've posted here has given a certain impression. Just saying.
  10. cybergenesis how did you end up with a lab when neos are your ideal breed? I'd personally say loyalty should remain with dog #1, rehome newcomer dog #2. But the neo is a worry... if you think he's not a PTS candidate already you may have to keep him instead. IMHO Don't rehome a dog with obvious issues, they only bounce from place to place.
  11. I understand what you mean. And asking here if you aren't a facebooker is fine too. They do pop up overnight, could be good could be bad... who decides. Dol is where people come when they can't get answers on FB because things can't be instantly deleted with the press of a button. :)
  12. edit rambling To get back to the original topic, yes I understand a plea for help needs to be made sometimes. But I'm guessing continuously getting in over your head and asking for a bail out over and over and over again is the irritant? Like every dog needing a carer or kennel sponsor?
  13. This has been like watching a trainwreck in slow motion.
  14. Can people please clarify? Dogs who cost more are less worthy of rescue?
  15. Beats me guys, they are absolutely free to go do whatever they want. Each member does their PL volly work on top of their own rescue/family/personal commitments. And personally with this bullying and footstamping going on, I'm beginning to wonder if fighting to keep it going is worth it for any of us. btw for the rescuers who have been assisted by PL members as recently as yesterday (and in many cases they don't know it because members prefer to work quietly) thanks ever so much for the less than flattering hysterical facebook posts. ;)
  16. Actually I think the breeder sounds really reasonable. :) They offered you the chance to do something productive for the breed and positive for you and your family. All with the guidance of someone who seems to care what happens to their dogs. Perhaps you feel the options don't suit your situation. In that case buy a nice quality limited register desexed pet and enjoy. :)
  17. Muttrus, that's the million dollar question. Everyone rescues differently, and it's a given that groups and individuals clash. So putting ethical debates aside: my only other reason for jumping up and down is to keep Pound List a trusted, transparent and independent source, as a team of people from many different groups all working together. Pound Rounds can go in and do their own work. It's that simple. Nobody is stopping them. And I think our stance is justified further by the fact that PL people have been called and bullied, sent vile emails, watermark/copyright has been ignored (btw I'd rather that we didn't have to bother with the extra editing but again it's proved necessary), we've been blamed for the death of pound dogs and personally maligned for our individual rescue efforts. Since PL established in 2008 we've had no drama even close to this: does that tell you anything? However, I really need to thank every single rescuer who has respected what we try to do. xxxAnna *efs
  18. Well it's been just two weeks and already Pound Rounds are stealing the DOL Pound List work again.
  19. Is it this one by any chance? norty It's a shocker eh.
  20. Facebook is a great way to promote things like non-profits and their events but obviously there is no 'moderator' as such. So people do get away with posting things they would get booted from a forum over. In some cases that might be the appeal. The newest rescue vs rescue page to spring up is quite the spectacle and if it wasn't so sad I'd post a link.
  21. Welcome Treacy, yes we came to the conclusion that their rescuer was 100% serious about finding the girls a good home close to where they are already located. My only concern when all is said and done is desex status. Do you know if she will organise that too as a condition of rehoming? xxanna
  22. Maybe a "Rescue Widower" or "waking up one morning and realising there's no more room in the bed" award?
  23. OT sorry: We had four pyometra cases in a row of rescued female seniors. I completely understand the wait-and-see preference from your vet but there are pros and cons. Leg cocking though, lol just seems to be a bossy girl thing. I usually tell people that no matter what age you adopt, pretend you have a pup when it comes to housebreaking. They do pick it up if you're consistent.
