  1. my smooth coat griffon goose honks, will get the vet to check him out next time he goes. He is 2 in April. I wasn't concerned about it as my maltese RIP used to do it as well. Hope the griffon doesn't have luxating patella, he doesn't appear to, interesting though my maltese did.
  2. hello Flashy and Mocha from Stan and Maddie!! Mocha didn't bark all the time, he did fall asleep with his head on the table  and that was only at midday his head fell to the table  Imagine what he was like at midnight New Years Eve
  3. hello Flashy and Mocha from Stan and Maddie!! Mocha didn't bark all the time, he did fall asleep with his head on the table
  4.   Great Photo, both are so gorgeous. Flashy says hi to his new friends, Mocha is still barking
  5.   she's a pretty girl too :)
  6. inside in the air conditioning, two in crates. The others have access to the outside via a series of open doors but I doubt they actually use them. I've heard it's cheaper to run the air conditioning all the time rather than turning it on and off. Not sure if that is correct, all I can say is that we have well looked after dogs here.
  7. my male golden retreiver would cope well in that situation so I would suggest a male golden retriever.
  8. wow that's amazing, well done whippets! my housemate swears that her dogs don't hurt ginger cats so she has numerous gingers (all desexed and live on country property, my girls are safely locked up inside). They do get the odd chase but are pretty wise as to where the coolies can't get them. The dogs are always on the look out that the head of the coolie pack, a large male, Gudgeon, doesn't see them with the cats because he tells them off. The other day, Mocha my griffon, and two coolie pups, TannyBaz and Saffy all got into trouble from Gudge because they had bailed up a cat on a seat, Gudge came up and gently nudged them away individually and gave a little air snap towards them, it was amazing to see the gentleness of the telling off but all got the message very quickly.
  9. Tilly usually pulls so hard on the lead to get into the kennels that I can't hold her, she runs in, out the back into the grassy runs and sits there waiting  She is always happy when I pick her up to come home and I'm always pleased to see that she enjoys going there as well. I worried about my Flash when I first put him in the kennel as he had only been a couple of months rescued from the pound and I was leaving him there with Tilly and Onslow for a few weeks. I was hoping that he didn't think he was being dumped again but he was happy and healthy when he came home. So I'm sure your dog will be fine :)
  10. My housemate and i have seven bitches runnung together, two desexed apart from the occasional snap to a younger one to put in place or a bit of narkiness when coming into season they are all fine together
  11. I fostered for newcastle dog rescue and found them to be good as was AWDRI but they probably have to big a dog
  12. When i lived in dubbo i used duncan too, found him really good :-)
  13. Vino is a stunning dog, he used to show quite a bit at Gunnedah, always got Best in Show, pity they didn't win but well done to Vino and Glen Vernon for going so far :) Glen gave my Mocha Best Baby Puppy in Group at Inverell last year :)
  14. for a very loving home, prefer female but male is fine. My little griffon is (or should be ) 5 kgs and needs a companion his size. And yes, I want the dog as well. Mocha is nearly 2 so would prefer some one around his age and he is very active but loves sitting on laps. We do have alot of dogs at our house of coolies and two golden retreivers. I have just discovered that Mocha has poor eye muscle which means his eyes pop out easily, twice now I need to stop him playing with the big dogs which he loves. Dog will be inside (in a large pen during the day on mild days otherwise inside in air conditioning on hot days and on cold days with the combustion heater in. Even though it sounds like the dog is for Mocha, and perhaps it is, it will be guaranteed that the dog will be 110% loved and looked after. Thank you :) Oh and I'm in Gunnedah which is North West NSW but happy to travel to Newcastle or Sydney :) eta that the dog will sleep inside, I would love a scruffy terrier cross. I'm going to be a bit fussy and say, although chihuahuas are very nice dogs, they are just not for me.
  15. Girl at work "He has chewed all my backsteps and it's going to cost me a fortune to fix" reason for chewing backsteps - he is around a year old blue cattle dog who has never been out of his normal size suburban backyard and they are out all the time.
  16. I 100% agree with the above statement. Monkey is an absolute cutie! Adorable. What kennel is he from? I have a smoothcoat Mocha aka Roony as my housemate nicknamed him MochaRooney and then shortened it to Rooney  . He answers to both. He lives in a very multi dog household. My housemate owns many dogs and guess who sits on her lap every night, it's funny he jumps up on her lap and immediately rolls onto his back for tummy rubs  whereas for me he jumps up for snuggles :) Funniest funniest little dog and absolute delight to own. I too didn't realise how energetic they are but certainly know how to settle (preferably on a lap). Mocha loves chasing balls or rumbling with his nephew who is a coolie or his sister another coolie. Oh and when they sit on your lap and just look up at you with those huge brown eyes  Good luck with MOnkey, you are in for some fun times!
  17. FlashBazil my coolie is my foster failure from Hawkesbury Pound I think his background is he was left in a backyard with nothing to do and little contact with human. When I brought him home I took him to the front door and he started to tremble and refused to walk in I had to carry him and tell him it was okay He is absolutely petrified of brooms even after all these years. Trembles and shakes when he sees one And he growls at young dark haired men and is scared of them. Not all men, just that age group. In our old home I used to take the dogs for a walk to our local hardware, Flashy absolutely adored one of the workers there and would bound up to him when he saw him, once David was standing behind a young dark haired men and poor Flash ran to David, saw the fellow and just froze
  18. I have FlashBazil He was a foster dog, went to Tamworth Airport to pick him not knowing what to call him, there was Basil STreet at the airport so thought that was a good name, but after a few days decided Flash suited him better. My friend, who is not a good speller, started calling him FlashBazil so it stuck - as he did Mr Foster Failure. then my Latte had puppies and I named them with a tea theme. I named one Tannin then added Bazil to his name because of his uncle FlashBazil. So he became TanninBazil. I kept him and he is most commonly known as TannyBaz  Onslow got named after the Keeping UP Appearances character, and i had a Daisy, a little maltese RIP at the time. Mocha was named Mocha to tie in with Latte.
  19. I'm sorry for your loss of Molly but exciting about Harry :) I'd keep the beds around, he may well like them :)
  20. I also think that she thinks that she thinks she is ahead of you in the pack Have a look at Steve Courtenay's site on K9? (he is a member of DOL) about Nothing in Life is Free and Triangle of Temptation whilst you wait your appointment with a professional trainer. I had a similar situation with my male golden, although he never bit me he growled at me when I tried to move him. But being lucky enough to have a couple of sessions with Steve, my pack order is great so it is really is worth it. Good luck with it all. Also nothing is hurting with Layla? Perhaps a vet check might help as well.
  21. Pembroke Caravan Parks has cabins and allow dogs I have never stayed there, only know about it because they used to hold the shows there. which shows are you doing? Uralla in December or Armidale in FEbruary?
  22. wow wonderful photos! I love Fiji, going there again in January for the fourth time :D to Mana Island
  23. both my golden retreivers were raised outside, there simply was no room in my girl's breeder's home, with my boy it was a kennel set out. both were well socialised and are fine, that would be my concern, interaction with others, what they have been exposed to, rather than being raised inside or outside.
