Bear Is Dead

My heart is too heavy to find the right words, and W.H. Auden must have known you to get it so right. This is for you, my darling darling Bear!

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,

Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,

Silence the pianos and with muffled drum

Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead

Scribbling on the sky the message She Is Dead,

Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,

Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

She was my North, my South, my East and West,

My working week and my Sunday rest,

My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;

I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;

Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;

Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.

For nothing now can ever come to any good.

I love that verse and it certainly sums up the total loss of any loved one. I am sorry for your loss :thumbsup:

So sorry Beatrice, it hurts so much, it hurts like hell. We'll never forget our beloved dogs, I believe we will see them again one day.

And in case it helps you just a bit, that dear little girl you brought me from West Wyalong (Torah) has found a lovely home, her foster carer fell in love with her.

Thank you for all that you do to help the desperate dogs.

Hugs to you. Jane x

Beatrice Im so sorry. I know how hard you have tried to give Bear whatever she needed, to protect and provide for her. And now she is at peace.

She was very lucky to have met you. As are many other dogs whos lives you have changed, for the better.

Take care of yourself.

I cannot take away your pain, no-one can. But know that you gave her your heart and all anyone ever could to let her know they cared. Know that she knew you loved her and is at peace now.

I feel your pain, even from here. Know that I care. Be kind to yourself and know you have done all you can for one you loved so dearly. The hurt and feeling of loss will always be there but each day gets slightly more bearable.....

Just take a day at a time.......Hugs to you matie.
