I'll be there with my samoyeds. They're all friendly and super-enthusiatic about meeting new people and dogs.

Unfortunately my female, Gigi, is an excitement barker. We'll try to avoid alarming Xander and maybe he can meet Duke who is nice and calm.

Sounds great!

Good day out for humans and dogs. Was very impressed by Xander's behaviour - if Kaz had not said anything, I would not have guessed he had any issues at all.

Good of you to say that, Sidoney.

I was amazed and proud - scardycat Xander happily playing off leash with 15 to 20 strange dogs was a sight to behold.

I hope Sas and Cordy see this as its all down to them.

It was a really great day - my first real DOL meet - and I loved meeting all you guys. So many beautiful pooches to kiss - so many nice new friends to talk to - and a happy Xander. Life doesn't get much better than that!

thanks everyone, i had a great time, though i'm fairly certain Mochi never worked up her nerves. Hopefully with continued socialisation there she'll get a little less shy. And maybe once she's no longer the smallest dog there and mounted by some enthusiastic males

What about just a little earlier, say 9.30am and we can get in a good hour or so then....paws in the park starts at 11am so that would work well, what do you reckon? :) Oh and do you mind if I invite another friend with a 7 month dane puppy, we have been trying to catch up for a play for ages!!?!?!?

  • 3 weeks later...

Well can i suggest an early time as the weather is getting warmer and there is no shade at the park... it would be good to get in and out before it gets to hot.

Or may I even suggest going to the windsor leash free park where there is plenty of room and heaps of shade?

Cheers

i'd love to come to that...even though i'm a newbie...Might just wait til my boy Humphrey is trained up a bit more. I'm sure you guys know what a hassle boxers can be when they're excited, especially when they want to go out and play. At the moment he's 18 month old, 30 kgs heavy and extremely keen to play.
