It was me that mentioned NG at NO stage did I say it was the NG product that is available in Australia. I found this export product after a bit of investigation. Nature's Gift puppy export: Lamb meal, Brown rice, Sorghum, Oat Groats, Chicken fat, wheat flour, beet pulp, Poultry Digest , potassium chloride, salt, Brewers Dried Yeast, Flaxseed Meal, Fish Meal, Canola Oil, Tomato Powder, Emu Oil, Salt, Choline Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Yucca Shidgera Extract, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Sulfate, Vitamin A-Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Manganous Oxide, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Riboflavin, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, d-Biotin, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite, Cobalt Carbonate. From: http://www.apfe.com.au/ngpuppy.html Black Hawk puppy: Lamb meal, Brown rice, Sorghum, Oat Groats, Chicken fat, wheat flour, beet pulp, Poultry Digest , potassium chloride, salt, Brewers Dried Yeast, Flaxseed Meal, Fish Meal, Canola Oil, Tomato Powder, Salt, Choline Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Yucca Shidgera Extract, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Iron Sulfate, Vitamin A-Acetate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Manganous Oxide, Vitamin E Supplement, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Copper Sulfate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Riboflavin, Niacin, Calcium Pantothenate, Folic Acid, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, d-Biotin, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite, Cobalt Carbonate. Note that the emu oil is not in the Black Hawk version, however they state on their website that it will be in the new version. The product on the APFE website called Nature's Gift export is a normal kibble. NG sold here is a semi moist kibble. The cat kibble is the same. I've seen the order sheet for the cat kibble from Hungry Hound and it said 'Nature's Gift' on it. The adult food is either the NG export without the wheat in it (APFE told me that they change the formula for different customers) or it could be a different brand from APFE, maybe this product that doesn't have the ingredients listed - http://www.apfe.com.au/feedrite.html

It would be very rare that my dogs didn't get a reward and would be not on purpose. But the reward might be going through the door. Lots of verbal praise happens too. I don't reward with food at all around the home.

The puppy version is identical to a product on the APFE website that is called Natures Gift Puppy. This is an export product. It is NOT the semi moist Nature's Gift product available in the supermarkets. The cat kibble is identical to Natures Gift cat kibble that is available in Australia.

I think that is why we are all fretting indigirl. Busy imagining the worst.

Funny yesterday I called APFE directly and asked if they made this product and they said yes. Hungry Hound appears on their website as one of their brands. They also said that the Hungry Hound rep worked for them.

Feeding Meals Through Training - Raw
JulesP replied to Red Fox's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Watch preservatives in some of the rolls. 4 Leggs do a roll too now. I've used that before for training. -
Feeding Meals Through Training - Raw
JulesP replied to Red Fox's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
The Happy Paws treats advertised on here are good. Little bits of dried meat. The 4 Leggs puppy food are smaller in size and don't have coconut on them from memory. My Coles has them but not Safeway for some reason. I prefer the ingredients in 4 Leggs. -
Congrats on the cute widdle puppy Tiggy

Think some of you are getting muddled up with holistic and organic. Holistic simply means that the whole animal/person is treated body & mind. So I guess if it is yummy, good for muscles, coat etc then it could be called holistic. Holistic doesn't have to be organic. Any food using free range, true organic would be super expensive. At the end of the day the ingredients are pretty good and it is Australian. Meat meal means that the water content is removed from the meat btw. Which means you get more protein in a kg of meat meal then you would in a kg of pure meat.
-
It is made by APFE. Same factory that makes Natures Gift products. According to APFE all ingredients are sourced in Australia.
-
What do you want to know? If I know I'll tell you It is on their site but under different brand names.
-
A DOL member sells it would be more accurate. APFE makes it. Hungry Hound distributes/wholesales it. Black Hawk (DOL member) & other places sell it to consumers.

Gentle hugs. Hopefully he has just pulled a muscle.

I don't think that is the reason GG. It has actually been available for ages, at least it has in my local produce place. Well over a year I reckon.

Oh dear  Is that something that can be tested for? Hugs

Ever Snuck The Dog Into A Motel?
JulesP replied to Lady Flying Furball's topic in General Dog Discussion
It just wouldn't occur to me to sneak a dog into a motel  -
That was all a bit scary for you TO. Glad pup is ok. I am assuming original vet had a feel of pup and decided from there she had HD? Glad the xray shows otherwise. My vet is very casual, maybe a bit too casual. When I had Amber xrayed for a potential stomach blockage they didn't even do a GA, she just lay on the table for them. I was quite surprised but I guess it was good that they tried that first and didn't just do a GA.

Dry Food That Does Not Contain Wheat, Corn Or Soy?
JulesP replied to Erny's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Erny my fussy pup ate the Artemis maximal today and at a good speed. She looked like she actually liked it. Klassy Pets in North Ringwood very kindly gave me a heap of samples. The fussy Birmans also scoffed their sample last night for cat people. -
If you go into the Breed Forums (at the top of general) you will find the border collie page

Weird Behaviour From 5 M/o Puppy
JulesP replied to Seita's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Guys I really don't think Seita needs advice on food manners. She is a pretty experienced dog handler. Seita none of my borders have had such an intimate relationship with a teddy bear -
Ever Snuck The Dog Into A Motel?
JulesP replied to Lady Flying Furball's topic in General Dog Discussion
The only time I've stayed away I found a pet friendly motel. They just said I would be charged for steam cleaning the carpet if necessary. I had 3 border collies too! They slept in crates. -
Something I have always done with my borders is to pretend that they are helping with stuff. So if i go out to hang the washing on the line I'll say to them 'lets go to the line', we go to the line and I'll get them to sit or drop, then it is 'back to the house'. And I'll tell them they did a good job!

This is the same food as the other thread. Different distributor. Black Hawk is coming from a DOL member. I guess it is Holistic in the same way that EP Holistic is Holistic.

This is were it is made - http://www.apfe.com.au/index.html All Australian ingredients. Is made to be exported and is now being offered here.
