Mmmm a neat performance but still with drive. That is my current issue. I get neat but flat or drivey and messy...... Depends on who is doing the run through as to how much they like it But it is making me feel like I can't enter a trial as I haven't yet had a run through I am happy with.

Teaching Back End Awareness

I've had to place paws on before Just once and then they are cool about it. -
MMmmm this may actually account for the 2 widely different run throughs I've just had. Sunday I had Poppy out of the car for over an hour before I went in the ring. Just standing around chatting mainly. I didn't do much training before I went in as she normally doesn't need much. I felt she was a bit flat but the judge said she would have passed (real obedience judge). Wednesday I had just arrived, Poppy was still squeaking in excitement and no one else wanted to go in so I went in. Poppy was fractionally too far in front the whole run through but was very prancy. Not sure how that would have been scored. Failed I think with an older judge. Things to ponder.... As for peeing - Poppy doesn't pee in public After maybe 3 hours of an off lead walk she will. All day herding - no way!

They are probably concerned about mercury levels. From my understanding that isn't a problem with this brand.

I've used this for me and thought it was a quality fish oil.

I like the soft crates, errr they are pretty and the metal ones look like cages I don't put pups in the soft crates over night though.

Black Hawk Holisitic is an Australian made super premium kibble, packed generically and sold through the distributors, not generally through retail outlets. The price varies slightly depending on the distributor and freight costs, but to give you an idea, I paid $75 for 20kgs. They keep the price down by the plain packaging and the method of sale. It really is a fab product, a lot fresher than imported kibbles and made from local quality ingredients. The product is available in a couple of retail outlets near me. Branded as Holistic Lamb & Rice.

Yeah the forging usually involves crabbing. Or to be more accurate wrapping oneself around Mummy's leg whilst staring adoringly up at her face. Which is cool unless I went to go left

Forging hmmmmm. I am having stacks of trouble getting Poppy in just the right place. She is forging so I work on that and she ends up wide and lagging and flat. I work on that and we have forging, bouncing and a tad too much enthusiasm. rinse repeat. I am obviously not being sensitive enough in my adjustments. Border collies! soooo easy to train! hummfff!

The Bunnings panels kept my border puppy contained until she was around umm 9 months I use them now to keep the cats out of rooms I don't want them in and they don't climb them either.
-
Ok thanks Jules, I'll look into these. Are they the sort of thing that's firm enough to be cut into cubes? Yep the rolls could be cut up, I've used them before for training and the 4 Legs comes in little balls too.
-
I wouldn't cook the Barf patties either. If you want a cooked product I would look at 4 legs, 4 legs roll or Ecopet rolls.

There are a couple of places to train in Victoria. There is the Diggers Rest training. I go to Nyora to train. Think there are a couple of other places around too.

Susan Garrett's Crate Games
JulesP replied to Mrs Rusty Bucket's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Lol. Crate Games isn't just training a dog to go into a crate. I guess it is like using a crate to do TOT and to build drive. -
What Do People Feed Their Dogs?
JulesP replied to claireybell's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
OMG that is just what me border pup is like! One piece of kibble at a time. It takes ages for her to finish and the older 2 then line up and wait for whatever she doesn't finish. -
I don't get why some people don't realise that some dogs prefer to be outside. Amber is the first of my border collies to show a strong desire to come inside. The others like coming in for short periods of time but start asking to go out fairly quickly. Their preference is for me to be outside too btw. I ended up getting the cats as I wanted critters in the house and the dogs weren't obliging.

What Do People Feed Their Dogs?
JulesP replied to claireybell's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My 'Madam' hated the Barf patties! Wouldn't even try them. Think I've pretty much tried every kibble now and she isn't impressed by any of them. She did crack me up this morning though, she got her kibble first and then followed me along to the other dog's bowls to see what they were getting! She also eats with a look on her face like I am poisoning her. She will eat bones, mince and Phuds though. Likes sardines but on the side not in the Phuds! -
oh dear

I do think you need to add in options for rural people :D I don't do walks around the roads here as there aren't pavements, too many scary guard dogs and I am not convinced how safe it is for me. I do however pay a big mortgage so the dogs can have their own fun park. They get trained daily and go out to training twice a week. I also take them sheep herding. We go out on walks and play dates too at least once a week. The dogs are outside during the day. Their beds are outside my study so we see each other all day. It is much more fun for them outside. They come in during the evening and then sleep outside.

Not sure I would feed any one thing, mine get something different everyday. 4legs has been on the menu here for years. The new 4legs rolls go a bit further for people with bigger dogs. Think I prefer the ecopet rolls though.

Is This The End Of Any And All Trials In Victoria?
JulesP replied to KismetKat's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
As far as I am aware Kismet, in Victoria it is the local council that decides on leash laws. -

Wouldn't most clubs have agreement with their councils though to run the clubs in the first place??? I know we have to get agreement for extra/different days.
