Help - Timber Dog House / Run In Melbourne
JulesP replied to Snowball's topic in General Dog Discussion
This company on ebay do very cute cat runs and cubbies. They might have something you like. http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/Design-A-Sh...634Q2ec0Q2em322 -
Just turned on my hydrobath heater and it is tripping the safety switch. It is just a year old and has only been used maybe 5 times. Any ideas? (It has never been turned on without water in it)

Pack Management Suggestions Please
JulesP replied to westielover's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have 4 border collies and they are all left together if I am out. I've never had an incident with them, they don't fight. I've had 1 fight in 19 years when one was playing and grabbed her mates ear when he had an ear infection, and that was all growling. One of the dogs is also not great with other dogs but is good with her pack. I do have a big yard. Currently have 2 desexed bitches, 1 desexed male and a female puppy. I would use a run rather than a crate if I had problems. -
Now you have us all waiting with you!
-
I read it as breeders sick of people collecting cute puppy photos.
-
;) Poppy is working better without daily formal training.
-
The blue ones are diluted black and the 'normal' colour is diluted brown/chocolate. Looking at a site for Blue Weims some do look quite similar to the normal colour, so perhaps that is why they happen. Very light blues being mistaken for chocolates?
-
I meant to look at Puppybars so your step dad could see how they look.
-
I am getting wide RAT & LAT turns too. Nosy BC syndrome? They are nice and close whilst I am working on them but in the midst of a heeling pattern Poppy is going wide. Think Ness was having the same thing with Kenzie?
-
If you look at the Puppy Bars website that is what they do.

Should say I hate rattling things in the car, which is why I am using soft crates not the metal ones.
-
Aren't the show trolleys quite heavy?
-
I'm sure that there is an easy way to do this!! I want to have 2 soft crates set up in the car for the dogs to travel in. When I get to dog school I need to get the 2 crates out of the car, moved into the grounds for the dogs to hang out in. Don't really want to fold the crates to carry them into the grounds. Not sure how to move 2 crates plus lead the dogs. How do other people move crates around? Those trolleys from Bunnings? Would they hold 2 big crates?

I've got an Xtrail and love that. I have my back seats down all the time so there is stacks of room for doggie stuff (and furniture buying!) .

Well done Dova, what a great achievement! ;)

More Relaxed About Training?
JulesP replied to kelpiekaye's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I just got a pup, increasing the dogs to 4. I am being totally different with this pup. Being really quite slack beyond manners type stuff and doing more going to rivers etc. I was talking to a guy at work saying I didn't know what I wanted to do with her and he asked why I had to do anything and couldn't she just be a pet. It was a real light bulb moment. Most people don't do what we do with our dogs!! I also didn't buy her thinking I was going to do obedience or anything, I just liked her colour However she is much more lively than the last 2 borders have been and I think she is wanting to do stuff so I had better get off my bum! I am much more relaxed now about stuff like hole digging and plant destroying! I get a new pup and just accept that the garden is going to get a bit messy for a while. -

If you are a REALLY talented trainer you can use commands together e.g. Oi STFU! Of course if you want to compete you need to leave a space between the Oi and the STFU. -
heehee I told you that you would not be able to resist! Congrats she is super cute!
-
Well done Dyzney

Congrats TerraNik, great score Well done SmoothieGirl! How was the weather down there today? Have you been going to Nyora? If so you have met me too! I had to sable border collie pup at the last couple of clinics.
-
Glad to hear Kenzie got into it Ness. It is tricky not getting much time on sheep. I only train when I go to clinics, so Poppy would have had less than an hour on sheep this year prior to this comp. I do lots of 'stops' out in my paddock but that is about it. The stops do mean I have a brill drop on recall now

I teach STFU.... -
Well done TSD! Super effort! Poppy got her first pass in Started Herding today and just missed out on a second by half a point.

I got one pass in Started and missed out on a second by half a point. Both were pretty messy so I am not super happy about it. Got some work to do!
