  1. Got my leads from Clean Run! Nice bright colours and soft in the hand. Also got the treat bag that was on free shipping, that is pretty nifty too. Am sick of wide LAT so am thinking of changing to the newer way of doing them. Anyone have any video of them? What footwork are you supposed to use?
  2. Well done Katy! Last time I ignored a barking dog my nature strip was on fire!!! The CFA were out there putting it out and Brock was going nuts. I can tell the difference in their barks too.
  3. Been doing that for about a year now TSD. She is still a very unhappy BC. She will not even sit in the car with the other dogs without growling. I have to crate her so she can't see them.
  4. Poppy's problem is not so much staying (by herself she is rock solid) but she is worried when in a stay close to other dogs. If they so much as glance at her she starts shuffling her front feet and then drops. I have been doing a heap of stuff with her around other dogs and she is getting better. The stays I have just been taking it really slowly, staying close, getting her to watch me, lots of praise. Without a verbal reinforcer I don't think she would last the minute.
  5. A group class at a dog club is also not the best environment for teaching shaping. If you only do luring you are also fairly buggered if the dog/puppy will not eat the treat for whatever reason.
  6. Bunnings sell clap on rather than twist on hose connectors for inside taps. They don't stay on brilliantly though. Do you have outside access from the laundry room? I have an attachment for the washing machine taps that I am not using, it you want to try that. I saw these on ebay and thought it looked interesting: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Genuine-Stainless-6...=item1c12a5301f As you are planning to be there a while I would personally get the hot & cold tapes put outside. I've got a hydrobath and am considering getting taps as well as I find it painful to wait for water to heat up.
  7. Cool, you are horsey. Hold the pressure. When pup gives. Heaps of praise. Amber was a horror at first on the lead. It only took one session of hold, give and she was fine. Interestingly she doesn't pull at all on the lead. The minute she feels the contact she immediately gives to slacken the lead.
  8. I usually get at least one pup each class that will not drop using luring. None of them have been stressed about being guided. Usually only takes a couple of guides and they will then follow the lure down anyhow. Once the pups know the positions and decide not to comply I then give the handlers the option of either using a NRM or guiding. I am not fussed either way as long as I don't hear 'sit, sit, sit, sit....'.
  9. Poppy is still looking very unhappy in the stays. Have been doing group stays for about a year since she went funny and I still don't feel confident about putting her in a trial. Really don't know what to do.
  10. I reckon she is doing what Brock does RubyStar - waiting for the tilt. The down bit has already tilted in their heads so that doesn't bother them as much. Brock currently has a 'thing' about wooden bridges. He crouches down low and spreads his toes out. I find it totally hilarious I am afraid. Bad mummy! As a mate pointed out I have a high wooden veranda at home that he is fine with.
  11. I am happy to use Nature's Gift tinned food and dry. I've had a couple of good chats to them on the phone. I prefer the Nature's Gift tinned to the Eagle Pack etc tins. The dogs only get about 1 tin a week though.
  12. Yep I would be finding a new vet too. The package thing would not impress me at all.
  13. I would like to see a pic of the NFS runs as there are none of their site hint hint
  14. We do a 4 week seesaw module, hardly any dogs pass in the 4 weeks so most do 8 weeks. This is for 30 mins. We also do 2 4 week contact modules. Have never done the seesaw and contacts module at the same time. The 2nd contacts does include the seesaw. I've had a bit of an issue with Brock right at the beginning with him trying (an obviously failing) to find the tip point on the dog walk I go to club on Sun & Weds for Obedience. Agility was Monday night but I haven't been going to that. Herding is a once a month clinic. Herding practice with no sheep involves lots of drops out in the paddock. Amber is getting fairly informal training - yesterday was training about not running into the paddock until she had sat and waited and working on TOT stuff. Poppy gets a couple of days training as well as the club stuff. Brock just gets to come out for lunches!
  15. I really wanted a blue border puppy once. So cute! By the time I had decided that I would buy her (couple of days), she was sold.
  16. Since when did the breeder return the papers? The OP can explain this requirement to the owner and offer to return them for him. If he decides not to return HIS papers then that is up to him. If he doesn't get the papers then he hasn't got what he paid for - a dog with papers.
  17. The papers belong to the man. Seeing as he should already have the papers, it would be up to him to send them back in. What do you mean he couldn't do anything with the papers? He could have put the pup in his name to start with. I personally would be devastated to receive papers for a dead pup. However, they are his.
  18. Reading the first post isn't the owner asking for reimbursement of the papers? Not the actual papers. He probably wants reimbursement because he never received them, did pay for a papered dog and now he obviously can't do anything with them. He really should have got the papers when he picked the pup up and IMO you as the breeder should have chipped the pups.
  19. Slip leads ordered. I got a teal, purple & lime green one. Also ordered the treat pouch that was on free shipping.
  20. I've only got stuff when it has been free shipping too!
  21. They is perfect, lol. I don't know why but since I have been working from home I have gone on an internet shopping rampage
