SA? Have they changed who makes it recently? It was being made by a Victorian company, unless they have a factory in SA. I meant Australia lol I was typing and having a meeting at the same time   Is this a SA thing? That all of Australia is really SA?

Glad that things are better for you now. :)

Black Hawk didn't manufacturer Black Hawk. It was made by a large export company. Although the export company may have a stake in Black Hawk now, that is a little unclear. Does the lady with GSD still own BH? It has been an interesting journey to watch.

My dog is terminally sick so I really don't need to be concerned about things like this. The ONLY reason I mentioned it was because people were asking about the dogs staying still. AND my vet approves. Thats really good for you However, I wasn't directing that at you. That was general information for other people who are reading and contributing to the 610 views this post has had. ETA: fix spelling WTF? It is good my dog is sick?

You are obviously passionate about the subject. Edit your own posts however you like but don't edit mine! Your editing has now made it look like I've said the incorrect thing.

Equine Dentistry is not about rasping the top of the tooth clean. The actual tooth is rasped shorter with tooth removed. It isn't just cleaned. I suggest you watch the whole video and then you will see how they address various issues that concern you. And I think it is great as I have a dog that can't go under GA. My scaling was totally approved by my vet btw. He was super impressed. This is however a subject that causes quite heated debate. I suggest people do their own research and make up their own minds.

Completely not true. All my borders have been very sensitive to how I feel. Which is why I have stopped competing as it freaks me out too much and upsets the dogs. No way could I even go out and train them if I was in a bad mood. If I am in the house and upset and they are outside, they know and will start scratching at the dog and whining. Can not hide anything from them! Yes....this...times 2  Knew some people would comment on that hence why I said most and there are exceptions to every rule but I know a tonne of Borders from flyball and agility and that's what I see. And how do you know that those dogs aren't the exception to the rule? There are a bunch of borders in Vic that are very competitive in flyball and agility but I would not call them typical of the breed.
-
And I don't have border collies so I can compete in dog sports :) At no time has that ever come into why I got my first border and continued in the breed.

Both people advertising have worked in the US too so I would assume that they trained there to do the procedure. My horse dentist was really, really good with horses. No drugs needed. He just had this calming presence about him. I did use a vet once who had to drug the horse that the dentist just used to do drug-free. So I would imagine it is the same with dogs.
-
The video I am watching says they sometimes use a gel. This would the same stuff that the dentist uses before sticking a needle into your gum.

Just watching this. Is shows it well.

I can scale my dog's teeth. They just sit there.

Amber has fluid building up from her liver condition.
-
Oh dear. The fluid could be ascites. There could be various reasons for what is causing it. Hope the vet gives you an answer tomorrow.

Well done Noishe and Scout!

I Want A Dog Food Like Advance Active Dry

Interesting that all the active dog formulas I looked at all had chicken. I used to use the Proplan one a bit but that has chicken in it as does the Eagle Pack one. -
Do You Love One Breed But Not Love A Similar Breed?

My heart belongs only to border collies  -
tehehehe it really doesn't take someone with a Uni Degree to be able to read the ingredients on the back of the packet. Education on the topic doesn't take very long, it's not rocket science...really. Well teehee I do expect a uni degree from someone who wants to set up a pet food reviews website. Or they need to state on the website that it is just the opinion on a lay person. It is totally different from us all giving our opinion on a food in here.

No chicken at all? Or is chicken fat ok? -
Dave-O has no formal qualifications to be doing reviews. Just for anyone that didn't read that info the first time around. Oh and I need soft sloppy poos from my dog. The consistency of soft serve ice cream is ideal. This means that the food moving quickly through her system which is what she needs. If it hangs around too long then toxins start to get into her brain, which is obviously bad. This is due to her liver not doing its job of filtering.

Just A Vent About Numpty Owners And Off Leash Dogs.
JulesP replied to Malakita's topic in General Dog Discussion
I pretty much have the same reaction around here. I rarely have people letting their dogs run up to us. The lady with the poodles I was talking about I've been seeing for about 2 years now. We always keep our dogs apart but I did let them say hi this week. Poppy has been dying to say hi, she likes little poodles. The lady said she keeps hers away from mine as mine look so obedient. I did have another lady ask if they were attack dogs this week because I leashed them. I said that I was just being polite! I do try and walk out of peak type times and am always wary on public holidays. Have had issues at Lilydale Lake near the river bit. -

You don't ever walk in Montrose do you? I often see a lady that has a heap of poodles in lots of colours. She is very polite with putting her dogs on the lead.
