Good grief I really that story about the 16yo looking after the kennels isn't true. That poor child! What a thing to have to live with.

I'm using Wellness Simple at the moment. It is a triangle shape and medium size. It is a little odd in that it has no doggy food smell. Not sure if fussy eaters would like it. Poppy eats anything and was a bit like 'are you sure?' at first.

Code Red is a bit more than peeing when you get that call. Umm I have got that call. My property was under ember attack during Black Saturday. Btw code red is a CFA term which means the highest fire danger. It doesn't mean your house is about to burn down. It means if you can't defend your house or don't want to then it would be a good idea to depart for the day. They can issue a code red with zero fires around. Really people should know this shit.

Yep, a wind change wiped out Marysville Same wind change stopped another fire from heading in my direction.

The area the kennels were in were in an area under 'catastrophic' warning on that day. I don't want to be an arm chair critic just stating a fact. I have NFI what I would have done under the same conditions I wasn't talking about the kennel. I was responding to the Pipsqueak, CavNRott and Showdog conversation.

According to the Vic CFA site 'High risk' is one of the lower categories. Most of Victoria was 'extreme risk' on Saturday. Code red and you start peeing your pants....

Sunday Pets is massive kibble. Biscuit size. I have noticed that my dog's teeth are best when I am feeding Holistic Select. Must be something in the kibble that helps as there is nothing about the size that would help clean teeth.
-
What are you trying to achieve? :) I can't say I've noticed anything unusual in size in any of the brands you have mentioned.

Amber thinks Deer antlers are the best thing ever! Poppy really isn't fussed, she has a gentle chomp for a couple of mins and then stops.

Happy New Year! How have you gone over Xmas HazyWal? Not too traumatized by the tourists?

Yeah mine aren't allowed to run around. The traction issue comes in when they are going out for dinner time. Have a look at the vinyl boards too. I really liked the look of them and thought one was real timber. For people that don't want gaps (I don't have any in mine btw but I think mine could be glued down) there is a lino that looks like timber floor. Is pretty good but not cheap.

Poppy is a present giver. She squeals at the same time as having the present in her mouth. Sometimes the present is a tiny twig or leaf. It is cute. She does it a lot when I get home.

I would say that my flooring is from Buunings or similar. The outside/inside room has got flooded a couple of times and the flooring is still fine.

Yes it can be a bit slippery but not for normal walking. The dogs haven't marked it at all. I have though dragging furniture! Highly recommend it and I hated it before I got a house with it (snob thing as I like real wood).

Video: Baby Tries To Take Bone From Golden Retriever
JulesP replied to a topic in General Dog Discussion
Gorgeous dog. He obviously wasn't bothered but why would you let your baby touch a skanky bone apart from anything else. Some people are just plain weird. -

What Food Can Your Dog Not Resist?
JulesP replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have you tried my drink? Pediasure in vanilla. It might help to keep weight on him whilst you figure it out. If he is eating the yogurt, you could try some cottage cheese. -
Going into a fenced in little dog park would be pretty dumb without a dog but offlead dog beaches are shared spaces. We need to control our dogs. Stressmagnet I just stay alert and call the dogs back to me if I see a person approaching. I usually just have them sit and stay next to me. Sometimes I just have them come to heel and we go past like that. Because I have 2 dogs I find it easier to stop moving. It is just less chaotic.
-
I always stop my dogs from going up to people with no dogs. I stop them from going up to people with dogs too but take particular care with people with no dogs. And it isn't an easy task because Poppy thinks every single person in the world is her best friend ever.

Try mixing some cat food into her mince. The little trays of dog food are pretty palatable too. If her tooth has been hurting she might be scared to eat. So try soft, smelly stuff.

Anesthesia Free Dog Teeth Cleaning
JulesP replied to mustluvdoggzz's topic in General Dog Discussion
No not all sick dogs can be safely anesthetized. I have been told by my specialists not to put Amber under a GA unless it is a life/death emergency type situation. cavNrott have you tried deer antlers? They have cleaned up the dogs teeth quite well. I just let them have a supervised 30 min chomp. To the OP do you polish the teeth too? If you did that I might consider using your services. If you are just scaling, then no as I can scale my dog's teeth myself. -
I work from home but the dogs are outside during the day so I am a bit surprised that they are so unhappy about me leaving. They aren't actually barking. They are howling! Full on lonely wolf howls. Luckily they don't do it for long. They don't bark when I get home. Poppy squeals a bit.

I have been really tense since that incident with the neighbors. Recap: my dogs got wrongly accused of barking heaps but I did discover that they howl for a short period when I leave. I have been doing some work on me leaving being a great thing. Mainly by feeding them as I leave. This is working fairly well as they are now running in a happy fashion to their bowls if I put the garage door up. However I am super stressed and it is making leaving the house a bit of a drama. There is quite a short period of time that I have to bolt out. Plus sometimes you want to just leave! A friend told me I was being silly yesterday when I got stressed about being picked up because I had to do this routine. How bothered are you by your dogs barking when you leave/come home etc?
