  1. Dogs on the Associate Registry have to be desexed but I can't say I have ever heard that rule for the Limit Registry. Couldn't find it in the rules ether, which is not surprising. Do you know where that rule is Tassie?
  2. Be interested to see if it works! I went out with a friend in something similar and more people came up! Think hers had give me space - in training on it. It was hilarious. Everyone wanted to know why he was wearing it.
  3. It gets tricky teaching this stuff at a school. I remember talking about talking in drive and getting very glazed faces. Or even NILF. Or really anything beyond the basics
  4. They are funny dogs! They just want pats from people. They like herding other dogs too but I wouldn't call that playing.
  5. Not the instructor of the class I'm in. The dogs pretty much have zero interest in saying hi to any dogs. Amber did flirt with a sexy Sheltie the other week though
  6. It was quite weird. Lots of reasons why you might not want your dog to say hi.
  7. Still pissed off about this so will whinge in here. At dog school, person asks if her dog can say hello to mine. I say 'not a good idea'. Good that she asked. BUT she then bends down to her dog and speaks to it and says ' you can't see their yellow bandanas but they are on the inside'. WTF. (We use yellow bandanas for dogs that are aggressive or need space). Why do people get so offended when you don't want to your dog to say hi? oh and she is an instructor.....
  8. Actually my shire has heaps of reserves that are totally dog free zones. Very annoying it is too. There is one off leash area in my burb and at least 3 reserves that we can't go into at all.
  9. Poor little Maltese would have been fine if it's owner was obeying the rules. I hope everything works out for you and your dog DanteandMolly. TBH I'm struggling to understand how a large Bull Mastiff cross can 'attack' a Maltese and not do any damage?? If would have been fine if the OP's friends dog hadn't jumped the fence. Lets not turn this into yet another "big dog v SWF advocate" thread. It won't help anyone. The fact that the other dog is one piece is a GOOD thing for everyone! Yes this! Regardless of the dog size it be safe in it's own yard.... Gosh I hope you guys work something out I presume the malt now can't be outside unattended until the fencing issed fixed The dog jumped out of its yard into a reserve. The maltese was in the reserve (illegally apparently).
  10. My theory is pay the money and get the thing that works. I find I end up spending the same amount of cash buying various cheaper things that don't work.
  11. Pretty heavy and doesn't seem prone to tipping over.
  12. I had trouble with my cats and bins. I got this wooden bin and that fixed the issue. Not sure if it would work for a dog though?
  13. Economy is wonderful if you were driving a Discovery prior
  14. My first 2 cars were minis including a little hotted up number. The new minis are heaps bigger though. So cute.
  15. I have an Xtrail for my dogs  I was drooling over a cute mini cooper the other day, sigh.
  16. It makes it easy to check her bits as she has them on display for the whole world to see
  17. Amber's discharge was very light too. If she had darker hair in that area you wouldn't have even noticed it, plus she spends a heap of time sleeping on her back, legs everywhere.
  18. Really TSD? Amber had the world's longest season, but I put that down to her liver shunt. She then didn't really have a season when she was due next. It didn't seem to bother her but totally freaked me out. There wasn't any treatments that we could safely do so I didn't do more exploring with it beyond testing to see if it was an infection.
  19. Nice. Amber kept rolling on a dead rat during the late arvo so was stinky when she came in. It took me a couple of days to find the corpse!!
  20. I had hot water plumbed in outside for some instances! That is normally only used for smelly dogs though. Talc is pretty good for dealing with dirt. Sprinkle on, swearing a bit, a brush off. I also have a non-rinse shampoo from Plush Puppy, a booster bath and a hydrabath Love the pissed off puppy looks.
  21. I like walking in the rain. Not a fan of hot, rainy days though as I still got too hot in my super dooper Kathmandu coat. The dogs have unlined Hurtta coats.
  22. Yes, I've read that to treat allergies/hayfever type stuff that the honey should be local to you. Not just any honey.
  23. What about setting up a 'glamping' accommodation. Think the lack of power etc would not be an issue then. An article to that shows some Australian Glamping accommodation places. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/travel/australia/aussie-glamping-14-of-the-best/story-fnjjuyvc-1227081624270
  24. Nature's Gift Kibble. My dogs think that is the tastiest one.
