Oh lol. I was thinking it was some designer breed thing

What the heck are they?

Thanks. Think it is a strong possibility this is what the dog is. Or a lappie with floppy ears! I haven't seen it around before but I did walk a bit earlier that day.

Best Barrier For Behind Front Seats?
JulesP replied to Chequeredblackdog's topic in General Dog Discussion
If your car has side airbags you need to be careful about barriers as the barriers can stop the airbags from working properly. -
No, nothing like one :) I've taught a couple of those.

it had a less jowly muzzle than a lot of the photos I've seen. i would have asked what it was but it didn't seem a good idea to stop the owner as he was trying to hustle the dog past me.

No didn't have pricked ears. Had very fluffy folded down ears. Quite big ears.
-
It was a very cute dog but looked a handful. Sort of looked like this one, which is coming up as a TM.

Are there different types? Similar to a couple of photos on the web but it wasn't as big and chunky as other photos and had a sharper nose.

I saw an interesting dog yesterday and can't work out what it could be. Could be a cross obviously but I don't think so. It was similar to a Finnish Lapphund. Black and tan and furry. Tail curled over back. But a bit bigger than a lappie and it had floppy ears that were very fluffy. Was fluffier around the face in general. Had a harder more intent look than a lappie too. I wouldn't have wanted the owner to have let go of it! Can anyone think of a possible breed?

I used to do it when I had lower maintenance dogs. I wouldn't do it with these two.

When I saw the dog on The Project last night I thought it was some sort of mastiff.

Gawd I thought he had gone when I saw you offering the drugs in General!

Actually my dog Amber did this but it was all a bit more dramatic. The leg action was jerkier (looked like stringhalt for any horsey people) and she was on her side during the fit part. This happened just after she was diagnosed with multiple liver shunts. It was a Hepatic encephalopathy episode. It occurred shortly after I had fed her a lamb flap. The vet had said that some of that sort of food would be ok. I pretty much haven't fed her meat since and she hasn't had another attack that bad. Whilst her blood liver levels were a bit elevated they weren't dodgy enough that the vet would have been alarmed.

The second puppy wasn't sick yet either from my understanding of the matter. The breeder wanted to wait and see if the puppy got sick before refunding. By not sick I mean not dying/really sick.

Pet Friendly Accommodation With Chickens
JulesP replied to raineth's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have to admit to ignoring the leave in the garden rule if I wasn't 100% happy with the garden. I have left them in their crates, in a closed bathroom, so no chance of mayhem being caused. The dogs would spend the entire weekend staring at the chickens! Not sure if they would chomp them but they would be wanting to herd them up. -
Try rinsing him off when he comes inside. A damp face cloth etc.

2 meals a day sometimes 3 depending on how Amber is, she needs small meals to avoid overtaxing her liver.

Terrible Things Your Dog Is Forced To Endure
JulesP replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
I have forced mine to come in the house. They are a bit soggy from their walk (they forced me to take them out) and need to dry off a bit. -
Quite a lot of people have had success with VIP Natures Goodness, a grain free kibble from the supermarket. Yes the supermarket! It does depend on what was causing your dog's issues as to what will work for him.

Nothing deserves to die the way that stuff kills.

My dog was on my property.
