Terrible Things Your Dog Is Forced To Endure
JulesP replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
I take mine places and then take photos of them! They know the drill so well that the minute I get the phone out, they sit and pose. This can be pesky when I am trying to get an action photo! This can all get rather boring and tiresome for the poor dears. Sometimes my friend also takes photos of them. This is what Amber thought of that! -
You can make it unpleasant for her to get up there. Foil or you can buy mats that give little static shocks. I would be not leaving food around. From having cats I still never leave food on countertops/tables etc The microwave is a good place to defrost stuff.

Great update! I am very happy for you all.

How Long Can A Dog Stay In A Crate For Safely?
JulesP replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
Is she still barking now you have the puppy? All of my first dog's issues stopped when I got a second dog. Although my neighbours have 2 dogs that bark constantly, but they don't do anything with them and one is a very wrong breed choice for a small yard. -
Sounds like he is in pain to me. Don't let him jump up on the couch etc.

I had a purple horse once for a major show. That was a bit embarrassing. Have you tried the Black Equinade shampoo? I used to use that on the white horse too. Gives a clearer white rather than a purple white, if that makes sense.
-
You could try Sard soap. I never found it to be great though. Shower safe at least!! (I showed a white horse and lived on red dirt  )
-
I would be careful using Glo white in the shower as it might stain your grout. It is purple.

I would say it is Dog Lovers Show that are currently putting their foot in it.
-
They say on their FB page in a couple of places that it was his decision.

Don't put him on his back to do his nails. Whilst he is standing, pick his paw up and fold it backwards. Like you would pick up a horse's hoof.

Two Questions - Dry Shampoo And Dirty Beards
JulesP replied to *kirty*'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Try some talc for both problems. Use on dry dog for general cleaning. Sprinkle on, rub in, brush. For the stained beard - apply the talc to wet hair. When dry, brush out. Don't know if that will work but it is how I used to get white socks on ponies  -
I would rather they gave the dogs away than toss them outside and ignore them!

The dog they think killed Wags was a staffy so totally possible. Not being said publically obviously? So I wonder what happens to the dog who killed Wags if they think they know which one it was... I don't personally think a Cav and a Staffy are similar in size? The weight difference alone... FD said a small dog of similar size to Wags. (probably because people are cross Wags was in with big dogs) The owner of Wags said she was told it was a Staffy. She is also saying that she was told this on June 3. Unless some one actually saw what happened I doubt they can do anything to any dog regarding the matter. And they either didn't see or lied in the first place.
-
The dog they think killed Wags was a staffy so totally possible. But they don't have any idea so lets blame the breed they think most likely Perhaps that was the only dog in the pen at the time that could have done it?

They probably put the crates into the runs. I wouldn't want my dog in this sort of boarding situation but they are hardly hiding what they do. They don't have runs, they are a free range facility. They aren't totally free range. They do have fenced areas which I believe could be called a run, seeing as there is no set size for a run.

The 'multimansions' are actually different to the crates.

Maybe send Canine Coach a PM?

Discouraging Dog From Getting On Furniture
JulesP replied to ~Anne~'s topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
What about a crate? A nice soft crate with pillows etc, not to shut her in it but it might make her feel more secure and safe. -

Yeah foil works really well - not. Ok this was with cats but they shredded it within seconds of me putting it up. I would be putting up a better barricade and making it very nice for her inside the barricade. -
Crate trained as puppies. They have a free range crate that they choose to sleep in during the day. This crate is in their enclosed verandah room. I also use a crate in the car and when I go to dog school or on holidays. If I had the room in this house I would probably have a couple of crates set up as both dogs like using them. They sleep on beds in the laundry at night.

Dogs running loose over all that agility equipment worries me too. Some of it looks quite high. The photos show lots of dogs running together. Just not a safe set up IMO.
-
Maybe they didn't have room at home or the ability to dig a big enough hole. It looks like a nice, farmy place so they might have thought it was a nice place to bury the dog. They were probably in a lot of shock too.
